About Kathy Norwood
My husband and I built Eden House in 1975 on family property. Our families are both local and we are descendants of the first residents of Mount Desert Island. We are very proud of our island. It has been a wonderful place to raise a family and our children live close by!
Kathy Norwood purchased this House in 1975

Quaint and quiet cottage
Kathy the host is great. She provides great communication, and assistance. The cottage is well stocked and comfortable. The location is private and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful trip to Maine
My family and I stayed for nearly a week at Eden House. It is so cozy and quaint. My daughter especially loved it. Although just off one of the main roads, it was nestled in the woods. It was beautiful, with all the greenery and moss. We felt very much secluded, which was something we city dwellers were looking forward to. We all enjoyed ourselves, including our little dogs. It's close to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and the lobster pounds and barbecue joints in Trenton, the next town over. The home has everything you need. The bathroom was modern and the kitchen had all the amenities. Not that we cooked much. I recommend the lobster pounds in Trenton. Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound and Smokey's were our favorites. During our trip, we had a small mishap and needed some basic tools for our bike rack. I called Kathy to ask if there were any at the house. She answered the call promptly, despite being away at the beach and sent her brother-in-law who came with tools and was nice enough lend a hand. Much to our delight, he fixed the problem on the rack. Such a great experience overall! You won't go wrong staying at Eden House. Thanks for making our vacation wonderful.
This was our second time visiting Maine within a year, but the first time we stayed here. It was fantastic! We were looking for a place with a kitchen, so we could store food and cook, and this place totally delivered. The house had everything we needed and more. The location was great...close to Acadia and Bar Harbor town center. PLUS...we were allowed to bring our pups, which is the biggest priority for us. We hope to stay here again!
Would Stay There Again
We are a family of five with two girls 13 and 11; and an 8 year old boy. Getting a hotel room unless we reserved two rooms gets very cramped quickly. The solution to our vacation needs was your cottage. It had more than enough room for us and was economical especially when we could prepare some of our meals during our stay. The cottage also has a dish washer.
We found the home ready to use and was extremely close to Bar Harbor and Acadia Park which were only a few minutes away. It was also easy to leave the Island if we needed to go to Ellsworth for anything else. While in Bar Harbor we had a little rain but that wasn't a problem because we could retreat back to the cottage at any time and relax. It was also convenient because we could wash our wet clothes with the washer and dryer. If we had any questions Kathy was available with answers after a quick text. She also helped us when our 13 year old wasn't feeling well.
We would definately use it again. Thank you.
Great Experience for our first time in Maine
My husband and I rented this property for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The property is equipped with everything you need to feel right at home. Kathy was extremely responsive to all of our questions, both before and after we had arrived in Maine. She also provided recommendations for many local attractions, which was helpful to us since we had never been in Maine before. Would highly recommend this property.
Great trip to Maine!
Kathy’s home in town hill was a great place to stay during our trip to MDI. The pictures do not do it justice. It was perfectly equipped to make breakfast each morning and come back and relax after a day of hiking. I would highly recommend it.
We are minutes from the Acadia Park entrance, Sand beach, hiking trails and ponds.
