Great spot on the lake- Great property (for opening frisbee match) - Comfortable and well appointed.
It was a thrill to wake up in the morning to a healthy, hearty cacophony of so many different birds!
Then it was an impressive view of Lake George from almost every angle of the house as we herded for coffee and tea on the expansive, covered, wooden porch! From the 4 acre lawn
the replica of an authentic craftsman house faces the lake and all it offers on the very private cove it boasts!
The inside of this house is also best described as expansive. We rented the entire house and it was PERFECT for grandparents, parents, college age grandchildren, aunts and uncles ! A quality charcoal burning grill that served to cook and eat on the big front porch !
We mean, life doesn't get better than a sojourn here.!
Five miles in either direction you can find busy Lake George towns that run the gamut from A to Z. Anything you could want or need! The owner, the real estate agent, Mr. & Mrs C at the Villas where you pick up and return your keys are all very professional, proper and try their hardest to answer and remedy any questions you might have. 5 STARS!
We will never forget our dream come true in and on this property on The Queen of Lakes. Thank you and happy days at this vacation wonderland.

Thank you Gaynelle! It was a pleasure to host you and your wonderful family. We hope you’ll return again next summer!!
Labor Day at the BEST private cove!! DEFINITELY coming back!
We had two families up here for Labor Day week and had the nicest time! The property is set back from the road across a beautiful meadow, and you get a great view of the lake from the big front deck and upper porches (you see it all from the living/dining rooms too!). The house is a clean, comfy, and roomy duplex with a wide-open downstairs living/kitchen area on the waterfront side that’s perfect for big family meals, and it spills right onto a large deck overlooking the lake. We ate out there every day it wasn’t raining, and it also served as a great reading/play area. The other side of the house overlooks the meadow and has a full kitchen and living area, plus its own private covered back deck. It was so convenient to have two groups up there! Plenty of space if you needed some peace and quiet, and tons of things for the kids to do.
The owners were also super responsive and helpful, which was refreshing. They provided plenty of basic amenities, a bunch of new-seeming Tupperware for leftovers, an awesome grill, tons of dishes, and a bunch of surprisingly high-quality pots and pans (honestly, most of it looked brand new). Everything that didn’t look like it was right out of the box was at least clearly well cared-for over the years.
Also, the waterfront is INCREDIBLE! There’s a huge dock with a covered boat slip that doubles as a sundeck, and probably 100 feet of private lakefront with plenty of sunny AND shady spots. It is in a private cove so you’re completely sheltered from the waves, speedboats, and all the crowds out there on the water – on Labor Day weekend, we were able to swim and float safely in the bay all day long, even though the lake was busier than I’d ever seen. You do share the area with some other owners and the little motel next door, but we hardly saw anyone and since it’s mostly families anyway, it stays pretty quiet and everything shuts down really early.
The house was an absolutely adorable and convenient place to stay. The views are amazing, but the waterfront is where it’s at – there’s so much room, you feel like you’ve got your own private lake. It’s so serene, peaceful, and relaxing!! Now that we know there’s a place on the western shore of the lake that is actually insulated from all the hubbub, we’re definitely coming back here next year!
Dated - property needs attention
Not in the best of shape. Very dated inside and not the cleanest. Ants and wasps inside throughout the week and hot water barely lasts through one single shower on both sides of what is essentially a two apartment house. Both bathrooms are upstairs which was a hassle. Pots and pans, etc need updating and the grill was a mess. Loud partying the whole week from the Villas motel which is just across the street. Would be 2.5 stars but the dock is very nice and convienent as we had a boat there.
Thanks for your comments. We have replaced the pots and pans and are making some additional updates to our family property. We have a maid service that usually does a great job cleaning. Prior tenants have not complained about wasps or ants so we will look into this as well. Our cove is usually quiet and peaceful and I'm glad you were able to enjoy the dock area.
Beautiful cove on the lake
Many pros, along with a couple cons for this house. First of all the property is beautiful. The land next to the house is open and sunny. Great for games and stuff outside. The setup of the house worked great for a large group with different families having 2 separate "apartments". Having 2 fridges/kitchen areas was great.
As for the Cons: There were no bathrooms on the main floor, there was one on each upstairs area, but none downstairs at all. The appliances were ancient, they worked (slowly) but the stoves were from I think the 50s. I'm all for rustic and old upstate homes but it def needed some TLC. The electric was pretty bad too, we kept blowing fuses. Even the toaster and microwave couldn't be on at the same time.
All in all we had a great time, I would recommend this property but be aware of the quirks.
Private cove with covered dock is ideal for swimming, fishing, canoeing, and enjoying the Lake views. 30 minutes from Top of the World 18 hole Golf course with amazing views of Lake George and the beautiful Sagamore Golf Club with 18 holes just 10 minutes away.
