About the property

Location, location, location, 1750 sq ft casa on 65 ft of beachfront on 1/3 acre

Casa de Playa Los Cerritos is the only single family beachfront home on popular Playa Los Cerritos beach. With ocean views from every room, the casa sleeps 6 comfortably in the 2 large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets with king size beds in each room. One of the rooms also has a queen bed and there is a sofa bed in the living room. Both bedrooms have large sliding glass doors facing the ocean with their own covered patios. In the living room, there is a full length stacked sliding glass door facing the ocean to enjoy true indoor and outdoor living.

Click 'Location' to see casa location on the map and zoom in to see the exact location.

To see a fun video click on the “video” tab on the top left of any photo.

Swim in the ocean right out front or walk 5 minutes north along the sand to the famous Playa Los Cerritos surf point. This wide sandy beach is the only safe swimming and surfing beach in all of Baja Sur on the Pacific ocean side. It is located 45 minutes drive North of Cabo San Lucas in the town of El Pescadero which is 6 miles south of Todos Santos. It is a 70-minute drive from the Cabo Airport via the new Cabo to Todos Santos toll road (cut the drive by ~35 minutes) or a 60-minute drive from the La Paz (LAP) airport. Keep in mind the toll road from the airport bypasses Cabo so if you want to stop at Costco or Walmart you should follow directions to Cabo and avoid the Todos Santos toll road.

Ocean views from every room. The casa is the closest single family oceanfront home to the surf point of famous Playa Los Cerritos. While at the beach enjoy surf lessons (surfboards and wetsuits available for rent), boogie boarding, body surfing, stand up paddle, massages and food and drinks at the Cerritos Beach Club, an open-air beachfront palapa restaurant with tables on the sand service. Whale watching is very popular during the November to April migration season. Casa is equipped with beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas and boogie boards for our guests enjoyment.

The casa was designed to conserve energy as it is off grid and runs on solar. There are no TV's or video players by design, however, feel free to bring your own laptop or iPad to watch movies, TV shows, news, etc., utilizing the casa wifi. Plenty of excellent restaurants nearby in El Pescadero or a 10-minute drive north to Todos Santos. Baja Beans a few minutes away offers excellent coffee drinks and the new Herba Buena restaurant in El Pescadero offers excellent farm to table food.

Once booked guests gain access to hospitality information including driving directions, access instructions, recommended restaurants, laundromat, fresh organic produce, grocery stores and where to book an outdoor adventure such as a whale watching boat tour, mountain biking, and snorkeling among other outings.

The casa sits on a 1/3 acre lot; 60 feet ocean front by 180 feet. There are 1750 square feet of indoor living space with large oceanside patios covered by Palo de arco providing plenty of shade. Relax in the hammock on the patio and watch the sunset with your beverage of choice. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils for those that choose to eat in. In addition, there is a coffee maker, blender, and toaster.

It is recommended you rent a car to drive from the airport to the casa as well as to explore other areas like Todos Santos to enjoy some of the very good restaurants, shops and art galleries. Best to not drive at night as animals like the warmth of the highway. Most of the highway from the Cabo airport and Cabo San Lucas to Todos Santos is four lanes now making the drive up the pacific coast safe, pleasant and providing spectacular views of the pacific ocean.

About LeeAnn

Grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. Live in Bay Area, CA. Enjoy traveling and going to Baja and love to share our casa with vacationers. Land purchased in 2004, casa built in 2009.

LeeAnn purchased this house in 2004

Why LeeAnn chose Baja California Sur

Casa is on the beach and is great for families or couples to spend quality time going on morning beach walks, swimming, boogie boarding, body surfing, surfing, SUP, etc. All water sports equipment is available to rent on the beach. Great restaurants nearby. Unwind and enjoy listening to the waves lull you to sleep.

This beach reminds me of the area where I grew up; Huntington Beach and Newport Beach in Orange County in Southern California. Long wide white sandy beach and waves that don't crash on your head but one can actually swim in the ocean and go boogie boarding, surfing, body surfing etc. Great for all ages.

What makes this house unique

Walk right out front to swim or surf or sit in the sun with an umbrella or read or... Sunsets are beautiful. Morning and sunset beachwalks are most enjoyable. Get away from it all. Whale watching season is the can see the whales breaching from the living room.

Surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing, SUP, fishing right out front your door.

Whale watching, bocce ball, surfing, surf lessons, SUP, boogie boarding, body surfing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, shore fishing, panga fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, swim with whale sharks, ATV off-roading, golfing 40 minutes south in Cabo.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Lee Ann,

You were next on my list for this morning...we launched back into life here at full speed.

Our trip to baja was nothing short of totally amazing...your house was the perfect retreat for our family who needed to relax and enjoy eachother. My husband started an engineering consulting business three years ago which has turned out to be very successful but very time and energy consuming. It has been three years since we took a vaction without him taking calls and emails. I can truly say the phone and computer never turned on in great!

The house is architecturally beautiful...simple elegance and very functional. The ocean view is stunning...we were in awe every morning and so very grateful for the beautiful Pacific and the amazing sand. We really didn't do much besides hang out together in front of the house on the beach and swim, boogie and surf. The water was amazing! Our kids swam for 7 straight days and nights in the ocean in front of your house and there was never any problem with currents. One day we did take a drive to La Paz and went snorkeling in the little bays and one day we shopped in Todos Santos for a few hours and had lunch.

The house was very well stocked...the only thing I could not find was a pan to bake Matt a cake for his birthday...not a big deal but you do have a lemon cake mix and frosting in your pantry! The water and solar worked fine.

Thank you so much for opening up your beach house to us. We are so grateful to have had such a perfect week in your beautiful home. We hope it will be available to us in the future as we would definately return if it was. Please feel free to call or email if you have any other questions or concerns.

Marvelous House on the Beach

  • 5 of 5

Great stay over Christmas. LeeAnn was terrifically responsive by e-mail and phone. She also sent a nice packet of materials to help find our way up from SJD. The photos on the website reveal a very attractive house, well situated right on Cerritos Beach. They show exactly what you can expect.

Two large bedrooms with sliding glass doors and a huge slider in the living room. We had them open all day – no issues with bugs. The shaded front porch faces the ocean – perfect for watching the breaching whales! We listened to the surf pound at night.

The kitchen is fine, though we didn’t really do any cooking. Critically, there is a small coffee pot and filters. I brought coffee with me and enjoyed early cups on the front porch every morning.

Lighting was good for reading at night and Wi-Fi worked fine for our needs. Judging by the lack of significant security around the homes in the area, safety doesn’t seem to be a problem. The house comes well equipped - really everything you could need for the beach. Boogie & surf boards, etc.

I liked the location quite a bit. You can get gringo priced food and drinks right on the water at the north end of the beach. There is a sand parking lot used by locals just to the north of the casa. It was reasonably well used over the holidays, but not an issue. It is a very big beach and most of the activity is on the north end. Just to the south is a new architecturally challenged development, maybe 6-8 units that looks like it still has some work to do. A little further south is a very large and still growing condo complex. Neither had much activity – even over Christmas. Beyond that the beach is pretty empty.

I ran every day. The beach was a little soft and slanted the further south I went. So, I headed north and ran over the headland to San Pedrito Beach. Beautiful. Todos Santos & El Pescadero have nice restaurants. Don’t miss lunch or dinner at FreeSouls down at Cerritos. Not Mexican really, but outstanding. LeeAnn’s recommendations for restaurants were good. Do drive to La Paz to snorkel with the whale sharks – very cool and highly recommended.

Great stay - thanks for the hospitality!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Playa Los Cerritos home. It was exactly what we had hoped for. Quiet, relaxing and a gorgeous view. The home was well equipped and in a great location. Close enough to what we needed but very private. Looking forward to returning again.

Paradise on earth :>))

  • 5 of 5

Wow, our family took this trip to send off our youngest son, who was heading for the US Navy. From the moment I spoke to LeeAnn, the owner, I was very impressed with the communication and attention to my every question and concern. This was the first time I had ever rented something sight unseen, especially outside of the country. The VRBO site was right on the money about the place, locale and ambience. The place itself was over the top cool, especially for us southern Californians who are used to the beach, surf lifestyle. Words cannot express the beauty, comfort and sweet memories that our "Casita by the beach" (as we came to call it) provided us. The little hiccups we had with the generator and brief power outages were more than made up by the quick, courteous, and friendly response from Lee Ann's housekeeper(whose name for the life of me escapes..oh heck I am a guy ">)0)..and the generous reimbursement of some funds for the inconvenience from LeeAnn was very cool. From this lil dynamic we came up with this saying TIM-This Is Mexico...gotta find a way to just take it in stride..:>))

The family originally wanted to head down to Cabo to visit, and I remember when we were coming out of Costco everyone saying we had our own little private paradise back at the Casita, so we headed back :.)). From a surfing perspective, the break to the right of the Casita is a pretty fat and wild left. Food wise: Breakfast at Drew's place, Tortugas Cerritos Beachfront Hotel, is great if you don't want to cook in. The best place for dinner though, hands down!! is Hierba Buena

My wife had a spider bite little welt on her eye. The owner noticed and soon we saw him going over to a plant, cutting a small piece and bringing it over to the table so she can put it over her welt.. too sweet and cool. The Chile Relleno is to die for!!

All in all, we cant wait to go back to our Casita if LeeAnn will have us.

Thank you again for LeeAnn for sharing a little bit of your paradise with us.

Spacious house on the beach

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this beach house on the Playa de los Cerritos for 4 nights. The house is very large, with two full masters suites, full kitchen, and a nice porch facing the ocean. The hammock and swing were put to good use every evening watching the sunset. The caretaker of the house was available when we needed her (twice) and was very friendly. My only word of caution is that the house has a parking lot adjacent to it which is used by the public for beach access. When we were there, many local families were vacationing and they set up many tents on the beach in front of the house and played thumping house music non-stop (literally) for 48 hours. I would avoid this location during Mexican holidays (like Semana Santa) if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Owner's Response: Hi Laura, Thank you for your nice review and I'm happy you enjoyed the spacious house and outdoor hammocks watching the beautiful sunsets. Easter week, known as Semana Santa in Mexico, is the country's most popular holiday where Mexicans nationwide flock to the beaches to celebrate with their friends and family in a festive atmosphere. It is the only week of the year where you notice more than a few people on the beach in front of the casa. There is beach access via a dirt road just north of the casa and other than Easter week, is used sporadically as most people prefer the more convenient main access point several hundred yards to the north where they can park right next to the famous Playa Los Cerritos surf point and the Cerritos Beach Club that serves food and drinks at their outdoor restaurant. I make it a practice to inform potential renters of this popular Mexican Holiday as some people might find this appealing while others don't. In your case, you booked your reservations via the online "Book It" button, which didn't involve any back and forth interactions. This is usually fine as I assume the renter knows exactly what they want. However, in this instance, I missed the ball and should have informed you about Semana Santa week. This was an oversight on my part and I apologize for not meeting the high expectations we set ensuring all guests have the best experience possible. As a courtesy, please accept a free night on any future stays. We hope you take us up on the offer and give us a chance to ensure you have a great vacation. Regards, LeeAnn owner

Outstanding eco-friendly beachfront elegance

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in the area several times and took a large group of 65 people (March 2016). Most of us stayed at the condo complex next door, but several in our group stayed at this home. It is about a 600 yd walk down toward the main beach for surf lessons, Cerritos Beach club. It is not a very populated beach even when it is busy.

The home is beach front in a beautiful location. While the beach is public, you feel like you have your own private beach. If you want to get away from it all, here's your spot.

It is tastefully decorated and the on-line pictures are accurate. Keep in mind that this is a solar powered house, so you aren't running air-conditioning or the washer/dryer during your stay. The home is very eco-friendly, but still has plenty of amenities to make this a 5-star home. There is a back-up generator on-site in case the solar powered batteries run-down, so even if it's cloudy, you are still good.

I would not hesitate to recommend this home to friends or family. We will definitely be back.
