Cedar Creek Cabin is your home away from home. The cabin is fully furnished with all the amenities for a worry-free, comfortable, vacation. Twenty minutes from Asheville, NC, it is an easy day trip to this eclectic, diverse town and the Biltmore Estate. If relaxation is what you want, indulge in the hot tub nestled in the trees, sit by the fireplace, or curl up on the front porch while listening to the sound of the French Broad River. The cabin has easy access to outdoor adventures. Tubing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, fishing, Hot Springs mineral tubs, and white water rafting are minutes away. Coffee shops, galleries and restaurants in the quaint, artsy, mountain town of Marshall, are an easy walk from the cabin. The cabin is not fancy or splashy--but is super-cozy.
The living areas are small and cozy. The third bedroom is connected to the second bedroom by an open doorway (although you cannot see one room from the other). It is perfect for children or very close families.
The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home. I live in the area, and will assist you in any way possible during your visit.
We welcome dogs with prior approval. Thank you!
This cabin is a great place to get away from it all, but still enjoy walking to restaurants and nature. I love the cozy feeling and the hot tub in the trees!
We chose this location as we had planned a whitewater rafting trip with the family. We are a family of five, two teenage daughters and one 10 year old son. We had plenty of room to spread out. While we didn't use the kitchen much, it had everything you need. We did watch tv some, all of us gathered in master bedroom and watched tv. Later kids watched a movie upstairs. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Showers worked well and they had shampoo and conditioner and fresh towels. My oldest daughter slept in the second bedroom while the other two split the couch and the futon. Parking was a little strange but not hard. There are a couple houses very close to this place, but it was not an issue for us.
You can walk into town very easily. Breakfast at the coffee place was very good. The Sweet Monkey restaurant had pizza and sandwiches and was good if yo want to stay close. There is a great grocery store a few miles a way. Rafting is about 5 miles away and very easy. Weaverville is about 10 miles away if you want to try a bunch of different places to eat. We also visited Hot Springs which was a neat little town. I have to mention that I left a few shirts there by accident and they were good enough to help me get them back. We would go back.
My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay at this house. The cost is very reasonable. My only recommendation would be to update some of the furnishings. But, at the end of the day this house is a great value because of it's proximity to some beautiful mountains.
My family (and family dog) had a delightful weekend at Cedarcreek Cabin recently. We enjoyed walking around Marshall and getting to know some of the neighbors. Asheville was a short and very pleasant drive from the cabin, especially along the river road. When returning to the area would definitely consider another weekend at the cabin.
This was our second stay at this cute cabin right off Main Street in Marshall. We have loved watching the town's revitalization in the years we've been visiting, and this cabin's location is perfect for strolling into town. It's also easy to to get out to the highway for travel to Asheville.
Close to everything. Just a few blocks walk to Sweet Monkey Cafe, Zuma Coffee, Good Stuff and Flow (local art gallery). A short drive over the bridge to the art studios on the island.
Great front porch with a small creek across the street. Was hot while we were there so the creek was low, but after it rained, it was flowing and we could hear it.
The hot tub is wonderful. Feels like you're in a treehouse. The new deck makes access much easier than our last visit!
Our teen/tween boys loved having the upstairs to themselves. Bedroom arrangement was perfect for our family.
The outside patio/grill area feels cozy and secluded.
Becca was great to work with. When we arrived, the cabin hadn't been cleaned yet. We called to let her know and she had someone there within 30 minutes. Although it was inconvenient (we had to leave the cabin for a few hours), she refunded part of our rental fee.
The cabin could use some minor maintenance: When we arrived, the water to the sink in the bathroom was turned off, and after we turned it on, we realized why it was off. :) The hot water tap leaks. The bathtub drains very slowly, there are some areas that could use a fresh coat of paint, the door to the master bedroom closet was broken. As I said, minor stuff - nothing that really hindered our stay.
The kitchen could use a few more items...we specifically missed a pitcher for mixing drinks (juice, etc) and a large mixing bowl.
The not really CONS but you might like to know:
There are neighbors REALLY close. We knew this from our previous stay and are not bothered by it. However, if you are expecting to be alone, be aware there are people right next door and across the street.
There aren't any "mountain views". The cabin is in a hollow with hillside and trees all around.
The driveway is narrow, there is only really parking for one vehicle and turning around to get out is a bit tricky.
All-in-all, we love staying at this cabin and will definitely be back. It's a perfect location and layout for our family and for less than the cost of a hotel room, we can have everything we need and room to spread out. Thanks Becca!
My husband and I had never been to this part of the U.S. and the cabin was the perfect place for us to stay for 3 nights/4 days. It is just off the main street that runs through Marshall, we walked downtown to the little grocery store. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants, but they looked nice. The hot tub at the cabin was perfect for the evening after our long hikes and fly fishing. Rebecca provided us with hiking and fishing information before we arrived, she was great help with directions and getting into the cabin. Only downside about the cabin, there are no great views of the mountains, but we got this on our hikes. Cabin was clean and we had plenty of space. We used the grill in the evening on the back deck to cook the trout we caught. Overall a great experience!!!
My group of 6 had a great time at the Cedar Creek cabin, we enjoyed our stay! The cabin had everything we needed and everything was in great shape. We were in the area to hike, canoe/kayak/tube, and enjoy the dining and beer scene of Asheville. Cabin is about 20 mins away from Asheville, but for our activites we knew we would be driving anyway, so not really a downside.
Thanks to Becca for quick and easy communication and making our vacation great!
