As mentioned before, this home is quite charming and well appointed with it's decor and amenities. Any guest will say that they truly have enjoyed the neighborhood because of it's walking distance to restaurants, shops, 'Trolley Barn Park' (great for kids & dogs & summer concerts). Also, the fact that you are so close to every attraction you can name in San Diego, you can't beat it!!
Since we had an 18-month-old who required naps, location was of primary importance and this home was perfect (very safe home for the little one as well). Less than 15 minutes from practically everywhere and a lovely park with playground amenities just a block away. Cadena answered all our questions promptly both before and after booking the property. The house is well maintained and was exceptionally clean. It was equipped with everything we needed, including top-of-the-line kitchen appliances, ample dishware and utensils. The photos are spot on, with the outside patios just perfect for enjoying the beautiful San Diego weather. Many shops and restaurants easily within walking distance. We highly recommend this property and look forward to renting it again on our next trip to San Diego.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Custom Craftsman home. The house was just as the pictures described and the location was 20 minutes from everything. We were two couples one with an 8 year old and a single adult. The second bedroom on the first floor is a pass thru room so anyone staying there needed to put up with those staying in the upstairs room walking thru to get to the kitchen in the morning. For our group, it worked just fine. The amenities in the kitchen and bath were all great. We made use of the outdoor grill, super easy and the washer and dryer. Street parking was a little tricky during high traffic times but we always found something just 2 blocks away if not on the same block. The garage and driveway parking were fantastic. We would definitely stay here again!
This house was perfect for my family (husband, baby, my parents, my sisters and their partners) to stay in during another sister's wedding week. We chose this due to the location in walking distance to her apartment. We already knew that we loved the neighborhood. We ate burritos from El Zerape practically every day and I took a lot of walks through trolley park and the nearby streets with my LO. The house is beautiful and we enjoyed hosting some more family from out of town for a bbq on the patio. The upstairs bedroom is a little awkward to get to: you either have to walk through another bedroom or walk outside to get to a back entrance. This didn't bother us, but it is worth noting. The kitchen is extremely well appointed. The showers are incredible and so is the tub with jets. We had fun trying out all of them. It was also a good home base location to get around San Diego from.
We came to San Diego for our granddaughters wedding and we couldn't have asked for better place to stay. We were close to everything we needed. The house was beautiful and very well accompanied with all your needs supplied. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Also the neighborhood was quaint,buses and some very good restaurants and shopping close by. Thank you Matthew for making our trip so special.
Good location, great neighborhood, excellent restaurants within walking distance. Very convenient to Balboa Park and the Zoo, and only minutes from Sea World (bring $$$!). The exterior and interior of the home are gorgeous. We were there for a friend's wedding and it was nice enough that the bride chose to change and have pictures taken at the house before the wedding. The three way mirror in the master suite downstairs was perfect for staging those pics! The lovely fireplace was used as it was a bit cold, and the furnishings were way beyond what one would expect in a rental.
Our multigenerational family all had plenty of space. Upstairs for the grandparents in a master suite although some may have difficulty with the spiral staircase. Pack and play, gate and high chair for grandkids, fold out sofa for a daughter who was only in for a couple days and second master downstairs for the parents of the kids. Yes, there is a garage door opener, space for one car in the garage and one in the driveway.
Our only complaint is that the appliances should be updated to match the caliber of the rest of the house. Dishwasher old, and washer and dryer old and noisy (you can hear it in the upstairs master). Overall, we had a very nice week in SD, good and quick responses from rental folks, and the refund of cleaning deposit fast.
We rented this charming property as a meeting place for old friends of ours whom we see about every other year. The house just worked perfectly for all of us. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked and we did dinners and breakfasts in most days. The living room and family room were perfect for sitting and visiting and reminiscing about the days we all lived near each other in Detroit. The location was close to all the sites we wanted to see. We used Uber often and because of the location of the house, the charges were minimum. We all agreed we would rent this charming, craftsman house again and again if we return to beautiful San Diego for another vacation. We highly recommend this vacation rental.
Centrally located just outside of Downtown San Diego in the Metro area of University Heights. Surrounded by the small quaint village type areas of Kensington, Normal Heights, Hillcrest, Mission Hills, Bankers Hill. Points of interest include; the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Gaslamp District, San Diego Missions, SeaWorld, Coronado Island, Cabrillo National Monument. Our beautiful beaches include; La Jolla Shores, Ocean & Mission Beach, Coronado & Del Mar. A very short drive to the Mexican Tijuana International Border. Pool Location: Park & Recreation Bud Kearns Memorial Pool.
