Santa Fe House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

Hidden on a quiet East side backstreet, in a neighborhood recalling the days of old Santa Fe, Artesano is a romantic two bedroom, tri-level home completely remodeled in 2012 by internationally acclaimed designers Ira and Sylvia Seret and their team of outstanding local artisans. As soon as you step inside you will know the ordinary has been left behind. You will be living in a work of art - every aspect of the home has been handcrafted with remarkable attention to detail and harmony with its Southwestern surroundings. All within a short 10-minute walk to the galleries, shops and fine dining of Canyon Road.

The living room and kitchen began as a 1930’s adobe, and feature the original vigas above and new red sandstone floors below. Relax comfortably in the living room on the colorful Afgan kazzak covered couch and Monterey chairs or put together an intimate dinner in the kitchen appointed with century-old hand-carved wood facings and new luxury appliances. Dine on a colorful mosaic table of lapis and other semi-precious stones beneath 200 year-old hand-painted wood columns and ceiling panels. Sip wine on the patio while watching the sun go down over the Jemez Mountains in the distance as you listen to the gentle burbling of the courtyard water fountain and hummingbirds buzzing overhead.

Begin and end your days in bedrooms decorated with carved-wood doors and hand-painted chests from the 18th century, ikat and hand-stitched suzani fabrics, scraped wood floors and coved adobe ceilings supported by hand-carved beams. Enjoy the new sub-floor forced-air central heating and cooling system, or open the windows to the cool mountain air and snuggle under hand-embroidered comforters. Each bedroom has its own full bath, with floor, walls and ceiling covered by original mosaics of brilliantly colored tiles collected from around the world, as well as hand-carved antique wood panels and soapstone latticework.

Amenities include beautiful imported carpets in each room, two king-size beds, outdoor grill, enclosed patio with fountain, three flat screen TVs with satellite programming, Wi-Fi, a printer for your laptop, dishwasher, over/under small washer and dryer in a utility closet, central air and heat and off-street parking. 1100 square feet. Pets OK with permission of owner. No children under 12, please.

Artesano may also be rented together with Hummingbird to create a large 4 bedroom property that can comfortably sleep 10 if you are traveling with a larger family or group.

About Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp

This home is professionally managed my Two Casitas. Wendy Kapp is the owner of Two Casitas not the owner.

Having been raised in Chicago, My soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains that I first saw when my Mother, now famous water color artist of Waxlander Gallery first introduced me to the magnificent area when I was only 6 years old. When traveling out west again back in 1975 I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico incredible sky's and landscape. I found the people here especially back in '75 to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for 34 years makes me the perfect local hostess to give you tips on making your stay most memorable.

Charming house, comfortable, well appointed, close to Canyon Rd. Super cozy. Loved that we could walk most places like the galleries and the square. Enjoyed El Farol on Canyon Rd. Great food and live entertainment nightly.

Wonderful Memories in a Charming Home!

  • 5 of 5

I just spent a four-day weekend at Artesano, with my spouse, celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was truly one of the most charming locations we've stayed at over the years. The detailing of the wood and tile work was magnificent. Our friends came and stayed with us and found it to be the perfect size for the four of us. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Loved staying in a work of art!

  • 5 of 5

As an artist I appreciated the southwestern charm coupled with the Asian influences and loved the tiled environments in the bathrooms. The neighbourhood was also great and every one welcomed us by waving as we drove by. Would highly recommend visiting Santa Fe.
