Overview

High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains House Rental Photos and Description

Our Place Has Master Suites And Can Fit Up To 16 People.

We love coming up with our family and friends and think you will too. The floor plan is great for multiple families or groups with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and several living spaces. The upstairs has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is a master suite. The downstairs is the same and one of the bedrooms is a bunk room with 4 beds. If you need an extra bed, you'll find a pull out couch in the downstairs. There is a hot tub on a large screened porch and a pool table and ping pong table downstairs. The house sits on 3 acres so there is lots of privacy and space for exploring. We have seating inside for 16 as well as dining for 8 more on the deck and porch. In the winter months, we would strongly recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the secondary roads and for our driveway.

Suitability:
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered
  • wheelchair inaccessible

About Hunter Buxton

We having been renting places in the Mountains of North Carolina for a decade and last year decided it was time to buy a place of our own. We have three kids and absolutely love the beauty and activity of this area. We can provide you with all sorts of recommendations of secret swimming holes, great near-by hikes and restaurants we love.

Hunter Buxton purchased this house in 2012

Why Hunter Buxton chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We chose this house because it was big enough to hold lots of friends and family and we could not ask for a better location. The pavement ends right by our drive and if you go to the left it is natural and beautiful for lovely walks with the dog and a very short and gorgeous drive to the parkway, fishing , hiking , etc. But if you go right out of the drive, you are 5-10 minutes from either Boone or Blowing Rock and all the amenities of those areas. We have a view from the screened porch and are surrounded by trees.

What makes this house unique

We have lots of games to play. There is a Wii downstairs with board games and a big-screen TV. There is also a DVD upstairs as well. We have a pool table and have converted the garage to a ping pong room.

Great House for relaxing and entertaining

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house in between Blowing Rock and Boone, NC. It is just over the mountain from Highway 321,(the road up from Lenoir that also runs between BR and Boone) so it is very convenient to those two towns, the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the area has to offer. The BEST thing about this house is its extra-large,stone floored, screened porch. It was like an entire other living room. The house also has two very nice living rooms, one on each level, with the lower level including a pool table (the ping pong table has its own space on the lower level). The second best thing about this house was the level of outfitting of the kitchen. I have stayed in so many rental houses that had ill equipped kitchens. Not this one. We cooked meals for 6 to 12 people when we were there and had everything we needed. The third best thing was the decor. It was very tasteful and comfortable. Some thought and money obviously went into the furniture, window treatments, etc... Except for the two master bedrooms, the bedrooms were a bit small, but all the living space made up for that. The four bath/six bedroom setup is such that the rooms with no en-suite bath only share a bath with one other bedroom, which is pretty good. We had a lovely time (did I mention the firepit up the hill?) and would rent this property again.

Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time at your home. There was plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed the hot tub each night - especially the kids. We loved the outdoor decks and being able to spend time outside. The family room was comfy for all of us to relax and play games. It was clean and the kitchen had all that we needed. Blowing Rock and Boone were such fun places to visit. On a rainy day, we went to the movies in Boone and Mystery Hill in Blowing Rock. We loved several area hikes. Thanks for a great location.

Bachelorette Weekend Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had 13 women gathered together to celebrate my sister's upcoming wedding. This house was perfect. It had plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms/dining space/parking/etc. We had a great time! It is in a great location and was a beautiful weekend to hop on the parkway and go for a drive/hike.

Like many reviewers before, trash was an issue with so many in one house. We also had to buy extra toilet paper & paper towels--b/c we couldn't find any in the house (the master bedroom had less than half a roll). These were a small price to pay for so many perks!

Overall it was a great getaway. We cooked a lot, so having a fully stocked kitchen was a huge advantage. And, the hot tub was great early in the morning or at night!

I will definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a vacation in the Blowing Rock/Boone area!

Quiet, adorable and perfect!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely beautiful! My friends and family thought it would be a good idea to rent one cabin for the entire group ( 11 adults and 3 kids) and we're glad we did. The cabin is extremely spacious and has different activities for the family. We were able to make smores near the fire place, take a dip in their Jacuzzi, play ping pong, and a pool table, even used their karaoke. The kitchen is beautiful and also quite large enough to cook meals for the entire family even had a set of pots and pans for us to use. There are 2 grills ( powered by gas & charcoal)..and be prepared to buy gas if there is none , because the guest before you used it 😒򔠮Besides that everything was perfect. Each bathroom had extra towels and all the bed sheets were clean and quite soft. The cabin is really close to the Appalachian mountains which was handy because we wanted to ski and snowboard there. We had an amazing and memorable trip, couldn't have done it without this cabin!...Tips: take with you black trash bags heavy duty ( Home Depot ) for put all your garbage and throw it somewhere else( I did it) believe me help you a lot! We really recommend this cabin to everyone . Thank you Mrs Hunter Buxton we really enjoyed our stay!!!!!

Would stay again.

  • 4 of 5

The owners are great about communicating and made our endless questions feel not terribly bothersome. The house is awesome - lots of room, comfortable to be in and plenty of linens and pillows etc. The Airconditioning controls are in the laundry room - took a search and texts with the owners to find them. You do have to take your trash - on a Sunday it's a pain. If you can manage it - clear it out Saturday late so you only have the one bag to leave at the house. We brought ours back to Charlotte because of time issues with naps etc. Would stay again if we need 6 bedrooms. :)

Great Winter Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast at the Four Seasons House in Blowing Rock! Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and tons of places to eat and things to do nearby. If you're a homebody, there is plenty to do at the house as well. My family had a wonderful time and Hunter was quick to respond to questions and make sure things went well. NOTE: if you are headed to the house in the Winter, a 4WD vehicle is a must to conquer the driveway!!!

Owner's Response: So thoughtful of you to take the time to write a review. I'm glad everyone had a good time. And I agree about the driveway - I have tackled it in the snow in my mini-van and that was NO fun!

Map

Car: not necessary

We are located under 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and downtown Boone. You can take a 5 minute walk from the house and arrive at the top of the Appalachian Ski Mountain. We are close to zip lining, fishing, hiking, restaurants, the Blue Ridge Parkway and more. I have a book I can send you with all the local attractions and how to get there from the house! We would love to share our favorite hikes, swimming holes, fishing spots, and restaurant picks with you. At the house, you can have fun playing pool, ping pong, lounging in the hot tub or relaxing on the deck or screened in porch. There is lots of space to spread out.
