Saltwater Cottage is located a hop skip and jump from the sandy shores of the mighty Pacific. We have renovated thishouse into a perfect beach getaway. Clean open concept living with 2 bedrooms ~queen beds, a nice bath with larger walk in shower and a kitchen with all the utensils for your cooking pleasure........Our availability calender is updated every single day. If it dosent have a red reservation box, its most likely available!

Just north of Saltwater is Analyde Gap beach approach. In a brief walk (about 1/3 mile) you will find yourself at the oceans edge. Or, if your packing up all of your beach bum accessories for the whole day, throw it in your car and drive! You can take your car on the beach here in Washington State. On the North Beach, we have the most spectacular stretch of unspoiled beach you could imagine. Beach combing, shell hunting, and imaginative driftwood pieces abound and are easily found here.Surf fishing for perch is popular at PB, then there's also surf kayaking!

If you would rather shop, we suggest that you come up to Seabrook and check it out! Steve and I both own businesses there. Steve has a great grocery store, Front Street Market. You will find most every thing you need for your groceries there. A great deli with a wonderful selection of sandwiches and deserts, too. I run and operate Seaworthy home, a great little interiors store..Stop by and say hello! We love to meet our guests! You can rent bikes, or walk around and check out fun shopping, great parks and terrific trails, too..

A half hours drive south will bring you to the city of Ocean Shores, which has a movie theater, grocery store, casino gambling, more shopping and fun choices for kids like scooters, bumper boats, etc. Back up north there are great hiking trails at Lake Quinault. Visit the historic Lake Quinault Lodge, check out some gigantic old growth cedar trees and a beautiful rainforest in the Olympic National Forest.

After a fun day out exploring, head on back to the Saltwater where you will find ample new thirsty white towels, washcloths, shampoo and soaps in the linen closet in the bathroom. Kitchen utensils, dish and washer soap, pots, pans, dishes and glasses are aplenty. Attention to detail was a must when furnishing our little cottage, Beachy and relaxed is the style, for ease of cleaning and an un-fussy look. Cozy new bedding, pillows, sheets and blankets will round out a wonderful day with the ocean outside lulling you to a relaxing nights sleep. If you are any kind of star gazer, Pacific Beach has the best night sky you could imagine. BA zillion stars can keep you awake for hours.

If hiking and biking is your thing, there are wonderful short trips from the cottage to take in the majesty of the Olympic Peninsulas unique and unmistakeably Northwest climes.

We have tried very hard to make this a perfect getaway especially for families, couples, girlfriends retreats, crafting weekends or a quiet place for you to get re-energized by yourself. Books, games, cards and blocks will busy the children the closet in the back bedroom. It is full of fun just for them! If you are bringing your pet, there's doggie towels for those salty wet runs on the beach. We know dogs love it here, too. Cellular service is spotty, We have Sprint and it seems to be ok but At&T may have to walk around outside to try and get service..

The Saltwater is a cozy cottage for your beach getaway.. We will leave the light on for ya!

About Lisa McElliott

Steve and I have always loved Pacific Beach and now are lucky to have this cute cottage to call our own. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Lisa McElliott purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Lisa McElliott chose Olympic Peninsula

Pacific Beach is like the show Northern Exposure. Fun, laid back, quirky and completely relaxing. We are from Hoquiam but now live in Portland Oregon, so its a perfect getaway for us!!

What makes this cottage unique

It is just a quick walk or even quicker drive to the beach or town for a coffee or a little shopping. There is also nothing like listening to the waves lull you to sleep at night. People also crave the way we decorate our cozy little cottage. A half hours drive to the Olympic Peninsula will get you smack dab in the middle of the rainforest, a must see while you are here.

Another plus is that Seabrook is just up the hill on Highway 109 south. This great little beach town has a lot of shopping, a terrific pub style restaurant and biking and hiking trails all over. A great place to take the family for a fun day, there is always something going on at Seabrook! Also, Steve and I both own businesses there. Stop by the great Front Street Market, where Steve will be found working his store, there are great desserts, a wonderful deli and a lot of selection for you weekend food cravings. I am at Seaworthy Home most days, you can find me at my interiors shop. Stop by and see us!

Great clean adorable cottage at the beach

  • 5 of 5

We were welcome in to a newly carpeted and freshly painted cottage that was sparkling clean and adorable inside.

Great stay, perfect communication. Would recommend.

Cozy, but could use some work

  • 3 of 5

This was my family's second stay. We previously stayed here last year around the same time. I had no complaints last year. Overall the house is cozy, well decorated and close to the beach. However, I got the impression we were the first visitors of the season and there are defiantly some improvements that could be made.

-As soon as we arrived, the toilet was clogged! We called and left a message. Never hearing back, we left to get dinner. We received a call stating the owner was at the property to fix it. I appreciate the timely response, but not the lack of communication. They could have called back and mentioned they were in route.

-One of the bedroom's heater did not have a knob so there was no adjusting it.

-Only one extra blanket was provided. Two out of our four nights, it got pretty chilly. One blanket was not efficient. If we would have used the fold up bed, that person would have froze with only one thin blanket left.

-Only four wash clothes were provided. Four people, four nights.. that didn't make sense to me.

-The internet wouldn't stay connected for more then five minutes.

-The trashcan was full so the last day we were unable to dump our trash.

-We had to buy our own toilet paper the last day, as not enough was left.

-The hose wouldn't work, which makes it quiet a chore to wash your feet off after coming back from the beach.

-The bathroom rug stays wet the entire stay. After showering the first day, it was as if the rug refused to dry.

-The front windows could use some curtains. It's a little unsettling at night to have the front of the house exposed in such a manner.

Don't get be wrong, the house has great amenities for a stay to make you feel at home. One of the best features is how close the beach is. However, enough things went wrong or were not up to par that I have to assume not enough thought, time, or consideration was put into our stay to make it as great as possible (or as it was the previous year!). There are some improvements to be made for the next guests.

Relaxing, restorative, retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We (4 people friends, 1 doggie friend) headed out to the Saltwater cottage for a weekend writing retreat. The house and the location were a perfect haven. We were able to get some work done with peaceful breezes flowing through the house. We were also able to break things up with walks on the beach, heading down to town for some ice cream, and delicious meals cooked out on the deck. Lisa & Steve are super responsive and have made the house comfortable and inviting. We'll definitely be back!
