Great stay...house was very clean. Pool area & the pool could use some TLC. Good location. Over all I would give it a thumbs up and would stay there again.
We stayed for about a month at this great home in SPI. We liked the location; it is about three miles north of the bridge and just south of the state park. Its a little less hectic than the far south end of the island, but within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, bars and stores. There is a beautiful, private pool on the property as well as a garage and laundry. The home is even more lovely than the photos, and is updated throughout. Everything was well appointed and immaculately clean. The kitchen, especially, had everything you could need. (We have rented many vacation homes, and this one had the best kitchen!)
The property manager, Estiballie, was fantastic! She went above and beyond to be sure we were happy and comfortable. When there was one small mechanical issue, she had it attended to immediately. She was friendly, helpful, and available throughout our stay. I can't say enough in praise of her work.
We would definitely return to this property and we would recommend it highly. While you are there, check out the beach at the east end of the street, go to Ted's for breakfast and to Wanna Wanna for a drink or music. We liked Liam's for a "fancy" dinner and Marcello's in Port Isabelle for Italian. If cooking at "home", go to the shrimp outlet on the way to Brownsville and buy the 16-25 count; they were the best shrimp we have ever eaten! Be sure to check out the museums, lighthouse & Turtle Rescue. Check the local newspaper (I forget the name, but it is available in most stores for free.) It tells about lots of local events, including volunteer opportunities, such as dune restoration.
