This is a quite, private, maintained Historical Ranch House. A place to relax & enjoy family, friends, and yes of course the Facilities...
As you drive up the property you will notice an historical school on your left, This is when you realize your about to experience something very special. The road takes you across the cattle guard with 20 plus Oak Trees towering over you from both sides of the road. You will notice cattle grazing on the left but your attention will keep you staring right...
The right side of the road sits the Historical Home with the Texas Flag welcoming you into the Gate. The home is surrounded by wooden fence to keep the cattle out. The Barn opens into a Large Party Barn with walk around decks, inside has Pool Table, ping pong table, neon signs, 3 flat screen TVs, frig, music, etc... 'kids really enjoy it and it allows the adults to relax back at the main house'.
The trees light up at night around the pool and the Covered Terrace. The Terrace has a large outdoor grill as well as a fire pit for the kids to sit around at night. The hot tub seems to be a nice touch at the end of the evening as well. The tennis court is a full size court so be sure to bring your racquets. Horse shoes and washers are a daily sport as well as biking and walking the property. Bring your bucket to fill with pecans also...

Marc Chase, grew up in Austin, TX and still lives there with Wife Marta and 3 kids. Love to Travel with Family and use VRBO as it allows us to enjoy the comfort of a true family home.
Marc & Marta Chase purchased this house in 2005
Fell in Love with Property from the moment we stepped in the Front Door. Above is two pictures of the home from the early 1900's. The home has a true sense of History and how life might have been before Cell Phones and Direct TV.
This property allows us the opportunity to escape the fast lifestyle of the City and Relax under the stars in the Country without the kids complaining their 'bored'!
We had such a great time at the house. The house is beautiful. I'm hoping to rent again in the summer with my family. Thank you so much!
There was so much to do at this property that it was hard to leave to do other things. A bottle of wine awaited us on the kitchen counter and Harrison did a great job going over how to turn on the hot tub and outside lights. Our grandkids loved the pool, roasting marshmallows, they learned to play tennis and billiards, chess, and they already loved ping pong. The BBQ area was great for a cookout and the kitchen had modern conveniences to prepare meals. After climbing Enchanted Rock and going on wine tours, the hot tub felt great. There was plenty of shade and a great breeze that we were outside most of the time and the house was cool when we were inside. There were plenty of beds for our group - 7 adults and 3 kids. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
We absolutely loved the property and accommodations. It's outside the busyness of downtown Fredericksburg but just a few minute drive and you're there. The kids loved the pool, the tennis court & the party barn. I would definitely recommend this property.
We loved this property! Great for 5 couples and 3 toddlers. We were surprised to find the stairwell to the upstairs rooms were outside (under cover of the patio), but they were very spacious. Most of us hung around the property all weekend instead of going into town and were so relaxed! Hope to come back soon!
This property has EVERYTHING! I was in charge of finding the house for a girls weekend and I am so thankful I found this place. It worked out so great. Enough beds and space for everybody. Very charming and welcoming! Plus Marc is very responsive to questions.
We spent 3 nights with 9 family members--all adults, 3 generations. The home was relaxing, rustic in a good way, and allowed us to enjoy each other and the property. Spent Sunday in the party barn watching football while playing pool and ping pong to entertain others. Enjoyed the firepit and made s'mores. It was more expensive than other nearby properties, but the space and amenities made it worthwhile.
On our 5th annual golfing outing 10 ladies spent 3 days/2 nights at the Promised Land. And it was everything that was promised, except for a few minor inconveniences. The setting was beautiful & quiet. The historical & rustic charm of the house was one its biggest +'s. All the listed amenities were in place & operational. Harrison was there..attentive & helpful. The large dining room & the hot tub were favorites. Only a couple of things on the down side. It states it sleeps 14, however is a stretch to say it sleeps 10 adults. The 2 beds upstairs slept like full size beds, not queens. And our smallest adult couldn't manage the top bunk & ended up in the sleeper sofa, which worked out fine. We hand-washed the dinner plates & silverware. The dishwasher just couldn't clean to our satisfaction. And we had to request our deposit back after waiting 3 weeks. We unfortunately paid $300 more for 3 extra people who were unable to make it. The property owner was informed of this a week in advance. Even though it is not stated policy, we felt an adjustment could have been made to us as other VRBO owners have accommodated in the past. We golfed at Delaware Springs in Burnet on our way to Fredericksburg and then golfed Buckhorn in Comfort the 2nd day. Fredericksburg's Lady Bird course was unavailable both days. Our group would not return because of the sleeping accommodations & lack of flexibility in their rental policy, but we'd definitely recommend it for families or smaller adult groups.
