Top rated Lake Austin spa is minutes away, rent paddle boards at the park down the road, or paddle our kayaks to the nature preserve across the lake and hike up to a waterfall. Our sand volleyball court is regulation size, we have a water trampoline, and diving board. But the serenity of this property may lead you to R&R and forgo all that activity - the screened in porch with antique iron day beds and desk beckons as a writer's retreat. Custom built with cedar flooring and rugged beams. Feels like middle of nowhere but great restaurants (sushi, Mexican, Steiner Ranch Steakhouse) are in the neighborhood, famous sunsets at the Oasis on Lake Travis 7 miles away, and 30 minutes from downtown Austin.

About Shelly Priebe
I grew up in a dreadfully nondescript area of Illinois (cornfields) but my parents wanted more than anything to live on the water and even though they earned a modest income as teachers they succeeded! In third grade we moved into a lakefront home in Central Illinois and it was THE gathering place for my friends as I grew up. They gave me the gift of prioritizing a water based lifestyle. Chuck and I bought this property when we got engaged in 1988 and our 4 children ages 22 to 9 relish the lifestyle I did as a child.
Shelly Priebe purchased this House in 1988
Why Shelly Priebe chose Lake Austin Village
We fell in love with this ethereal part of Lake Austin and bought our home in 1988. It was 2 BR/1Bath with gold shag carpet and we were in heaven. Have added on to our home many times and we built the guest house in 2004 hoping to lure out of state grandparents. We failed at that but have loved being able to host many travelers, church youth retreat weekends, you name it!
What makes this House unique
Every piece of furniture hand picked over time from visits to the semi-annual Round Top antique fair except for the custom made cedar dining table with benches. Nothing matches but everything soothes in this eclectic and comfortable home. Want some activity? A sand volleyball court awaits. Or kayak across the lake and hike up to a waterfall.

We had a wonderful carefree stay at Shelly and Chuck’s guest house by the lake! We were warmly welcomed by her and her cutie pie pup who was very sweet and playful. There were plenty of linens that the “cleaning fairies”, as Shelly so playfully put it, were happy to pick up so we didn’t have to clean on our vacation. The kitchen had every utensil we needed to grill and chill. One of the things I was most looking forward to was the water trampoline which we as 6 grown adults played Duck Duck Goose on as if we were 6 little kids. So much fun! We were worried we would disturb Chuck since his office is right under the guest house, but we had no issues at all. I think the one thing that should be taken into consideration is to plan on having no more than 2 vehicles as there isn't really parking for anymore unless otherwise discussed. The house is close to both her and her neighbor's so there was an encounter or two with people outside our party during the stay but I actually enjoyed the interaction as they didn't overstay and would let us have the area if they saw us coming. Very respectful. There was one room in particular that I found myself hanging out in most and that was the screened in tree house room. It had a very familiar camp-y feel to it that we all connected with and enjoyed. Even in with the heat in the middle of June, it was enchanting and not too hot to enjoy the room. Overall this is a great choice for both kids and adults and I only hope I can return soon.
Wow, thanks - loved having your fun loving party of revelers. ~Shelly
Beautiful Home For A Vacation
We had a great stay at Shelly and Chuck's vacation home. Water front for swimming, kayaks to play on, tied our jet skies up at the dock and enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of space for all our group, 3 kids and 4 adults and 1 dog!! Kitchen and grill for all your cooking needs. Books to read, TV, Videos to watch, nothing left out!! Both hosts are so very nice and helpful!! I would highly recommend this rental for a relaxing vacation!!

Was very nice
A lovely treehouse feeling with a great waterfront dock.
Great location on the lake! Kayaks to use, water trampoline lots of fun. About 30 min out from Austin so a bit of a drive, but it was great to see lots of areas of Austin.
