This two bedroom residence is located on Queens Rd., one of the prettiest tree-lined avenues in the city, in the prestigious neighborhood of Myers Park, 1 mile from Uptown. Created by famous landscape architect John Nolen in 1911, Myers Park's curving avenues, gracious homes and small parks combine to create one of the South's most livable neighborhoods, a mile from Uptown.
We've maintained the character of the historic 1920's apartment building, while completely updating and renovating the interior. Stainless appliances with granite countertops, new heating and cooling systems and plumbing provide modern amenities, while the original refinished hardwoods, bathroom tile, graceful arched doorways and 2-panel doors provide the charm so often absent in new construction.
Large double-hung windows let in an abundance of light in all of the rooms, and the screened porch allows you to enjoy the outside, whether for breakfast in the morning or for a drink or meal in the evening. The apartment is located on the ground floor, to the rear of the building, so it's quiet and private with easy access. Off-street parking is also provided.
The galley kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, etc., a gas range with convection oven, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, disposal, and a stackable washer and dryer. Off of the kitchen, a dining area comfortably seats four but can seat up to six.
In the large living room, upholstered furniture provides comfortable seating, a flatscreen television offers entertainment options, and a desk and wifi enable business travelers to work.
400-thread-count linens and thick Egyptian cotton towels offer all of the comforts of home, and each bedroom has a generous closet and a television. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second a queen. The sofa in the living room converts to a queen sized bed.
Wide sidewalks and towering oaks throughout the neighborhood provide an ideal place for walking or jogging, and a coffee shop, multiple restaurants (including Ethiopian, Thai, casual and fine Italian, etc.), shopping and even an independent movie theater are a half mile away. Spring through fall, a farmers market is open Wed, Fri and Sat around the corner from the apartment, and a new greenway offers a convenient connection to Freedom Park, Dilworth and Carolinas Medical Center.
Ideal for short- or long-term stays for business or pleasure, or when visiting someone at either CMC or Presbyterian Hospitals, our goal is for you to feel at home during your stay. We'll try hard to accommodate almost any special request and we live less than 2 miles away, so are readily available should something come up. We look forward to hosting you. If this apartment is not available for your preferred time period, please ask as we have others available in similarly great locations.

My husband James and I travel extensively and prefer staying in apartments rather than hotels when we travel. Upon our return from a month renting a great place in Istanbul last summer, we decided to offer some of our properties here! We are Green Developers (see our latest LEED-certified project celadongreenway dot com) who enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to our fair city. I'm a native Charlottean so can help provide a true local's perspective during your visit, which can be especially helpful for people relocating to Charlotte. Our clean and comfortable properties are located near Uptown Charlotte, in very walkable and safe neighborhoods. We try our best to provide a true home away from home. Thanks in advance for your interest and we look forward to hosting you.
Jim Hock purchased this condo in 1992
Charlotte has been my home for 40+ years, and we love sharing our city with other travelers. We feel that location is paramount in any decision to vacation, and ours is one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in the entire city. We purchased this home and lived here a number of years before buying a single family home nearby.
Location, location, location. Our walkable neighborhood provides the ability to live car-free, and when a car is needed, you can get anywhere in the area in minutes. Near both hospitals and close to the Uptown business district, you'll enjoy staying in the center of everything, but in a quiet residential neighborhood. As a native Charlottean, I can help guide you around our city, and can be especially helpful for those relocating to the area.
"Thank you for creating this beautiful space for us to stay, and we appreciated the special touches--the munchies, drinks wine, etc. The beds were so comfy. Thank you so much!"
We have rented several properties through HomeAway. This was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Extremely clean, well equipped, charming, updated, comfortable and great distance to downtown. There is one bathroom, so if there are 4 people staying, communication is key! However, it works out well. We loved our stay very much and would love to come back!!
We enjoyed our stay at the Queens condo location! It is conveniently located near downtown and in Walking distance to parks. The condo itself was well stocked with everything you will need for your stay and the "welcome package" was one of the best we have seen! It was clean and it was obvious that the Home Collection group pays attention to details. Highly recommended for a business trip or family getaway!
Wonderful unit. Beautiful furnishings. Amazing attention to detail by owners. Fully equipped. Great charm. Modern kitchen. Great hosts. Great location.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great location. Owners made it extremely welcoming . Would highly recommend it.
This residential neighborhood was great: safe, quiet, attractive. The apartment was up to date with modern appliances in the kitchen. Very clean.
Two bedrooms with a shared bath, a nice screen porch. We were there for a week of golf, and it was easy access to the highways that get you in and out of the city. The details were attended to with complimentary beverages and fruit. The communications were complete and easy to understand. Easy to get the keys and text the property manages when arriving and leaving. Cable TV was useful - it was NCAA March Madness time and a good Sony music component.
We enjoyed the stay and a place to hang out. This place was so much better than a hotel environment.
While visiting Charlotte for the ACC Championship Football game, my wife, daughter and son in law stayed in this picture perfect condo and had a great weekend. The condo was exactly what was presented in the advertisement and more. We arrived to a fully lighted home (as we arrived at night) with music playing and wine waiting. We were very comfortable with all the necessities and comforts of home.
The location is perfect in a quite old part of Charlotte, but just blocks from uptown. We utilized UBER to get around for less than $6 a trip. There are many restaurants within a mile drive as well as shopping, if you are so inclined.
Charlie, our manager, was always interested in our comfort and wanted to make sure we had everything that we needed. He was always a text or call away.
If we were to return to Charlotte for any reason, we would look to stay here again.
