We are John and Sandee Cox and we have been married for 33 years and have six children and two grandchildren. Originally we are from Texas and have lived in Nashville for 23 years. I am a singer songwriter and have a remodelling company and built this house in 2009 doing most of the work myself. My wife, Sandee, is a doula. We are excited to share our slice of heaven with you.
Sandee Richey-Cox purchased this house in 2009
Because its stunning to watch the river roll by. It also feels like you are in a different world yet everything is super close by. Its so much easier to make beautiful memories if you are in a beautiful place!
We built this home ourselves in 2009 and we love antiques. That is why every piece has a story. It really is like stepping back in time. 1 KING BED,, 3 QUEEN BEDS,, 4 TWIN BEDS,, ALL WITH MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES,, ALSO A TANKLESS HOT WATER HEATER..!!! A masseuse is available at request!!!
I can not say enough great things about the property and Sandee and John! The house is beautiful, charming and pristine, and even though it is so close to all the bustling fun of the city (Grand Ole Opry and restaurants/bars are just down the road), we felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere. It was so peaceful, our group had plenty of room to get comfortable and relax. The property owners made sure right away that if we needed anything to just holler. We even booked an extra night at the last minute and it was super easy! I feel so blessed to have had the chance to stay here. We will definitely choose the River House again whenever we return to Nashville! Thank you Sandee and John for being lovely and welcoming hosts!
Absolute awesome!!! What a gorgeous home! Easy location to get everywhere. John and Sandy were a delight to work with Only problem, we didn't take off more time to stay longer.
The River House is absolutely beautiful with beautiful views as well! John and Sandee have everything you could possibly need. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will definitely be back!
We stayed at The River House this past weekend for my bachelorette party. There were 12 girls and I couldn't imagine any other place being as perfect as this one. There was plenty of room for every person to sleep and get ready. The hot tub was amazing, the kitchen was adorable, and the best part was the beautiful wrap around porch that we had coffee on every morning. The renters were super easy to reach and made sure that we were taken care of. We also found out that this house was used on "Nashville" and we were totally star struck. I would recommend this house to any large group looking for that quaint Nashville experience. LOVED IT.
The house is beautiful, the back porch is amazing, we loved everything about our weekend stay!! We had 10 girls, and had plenty of room! We will definitely be staying here again!!
We had a group of 11 women who get together once a year. The home was terrific. Great character, comfortable chairs, couches, beds. Linens were soft and fresh. (important in my opinion). Kitchen was well stocked. Gas stove!!! Wrap around porch. Slept 11 easily. The couch sleepers were okay, had nice comfy pads, but one of the guests had to move pad to floor to sleep well. 5 minutes to Opryland convention center, a cool place to tour, and lot's of shopping , bars and restaurants in area. Downtown Nashville is about a 25 minute ride. We used Uber all week-end and the price ranged between 40-60 depending on time of day we traveled and what was going on in town. Owners were very helpful and available at all times for questions. That was nice. Fantastic home. Loved our visit. Thank you!!!
Our home is the Opry Mills area of Nashville. The Grand Ole Opry and Opryland Hotel are just a little over one mile up the road. Our neighborhood is known as Music Valley. Within the area we have Opry Mills Outlet Mall which includes a 20 screen theater and an IMAX 3D. More activities all within 4 miles are two golf courses, wave pool, skate park, miles of beautiful greenways, frisbie golf course, large park with playground. Pack your comfy shoes because Nashville has countless sights to see. Down town is always jumpin! Live music day and night. Many sights include : The Ryman auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, The Frist Museum, The Parthenon in Centennial Park, The State Capitol, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, The Tennessee State Museum (FREE!!!!), War Memorial, The Farmers Market, Bridgestone Arena for big concerts and don't forget LP Field for Titan's football games. Check out my insiders guide for all of the great things that are to be experienced in Music City.
