Guestbook comments from the owner

As 90 % of our clients are Japanese and they leave their comments in the little guest book that we prepared in the apartment, I just translated one of them below for your reference.

"For the last 4 years, we have been staying in apartment hotels in Paris but we've never been in one as confortable as your apt. My wife regrets not having stayed here for our whole vacation. Next year, we would like to come in May to stay here longer period! From Mr and Mrs Saito.

A little gem in the heart of the Marais

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Natsumi's apartment for 5 nights at the end of November with my elderly other. It was a perfect place - ideal for the two of us and clearly also very workable for 4 people. Attention to detail is excellent. Wi-fi worked well and it's possible to make phone calls to many other countries for no extra charge - very helpful to keep in touch with family. The photos accurately portray the charm, light and peace of this lovely property - beautifully quiet and yet right in the heart of the Marais. St Paul Metro station is a one minute walk away and there are plentiful restaurants and shops close by. At a cold time of the year the apartment was cosy and warm. My mother had a wonderful time and the two flights up to the apartment were no problem, even at 84 years of age!

Thank you Natsumi for a lovely stay. I've stayed in several different Parisian apartments over the years and this is a real find!

Cozy, quiet, and handy for central Paris

  • 5 of 5

A cozy little apartment in a quiet area, but delightfully central. Morning croissants just a short walk away, and several restaurants even closer. St Paul Metro handiest, with two other lines a short walk away. Ideal for a couple such as us who want to be out all day and use it as a base. The tiny kitchen was all we needed, though it took a little searching to find the corkscrew, and the bathroom has a wonderful shower. Le Marais is an area we didn't know well, and exploring it was a delight - the Louvre is just along the road. There are two flights of stairs to negotiate, which was slightly tricky with the bags, but otherwise fine. Motion sensors illuminate the ground floor part, and a timer switch takes care of the stairs.

If you plan to leave the bags early, make sure you follow the recommendation to make that call to confirm shortly before arriving. Natsumi replied quickly to any emails, and was attentive to our needs.

We enjoyed our time, and plan to be back.

This is our home in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place! The location couldn't be better in the heart of the Marais. The neighborhood has a shopping street with everything you need but not too much traffic. The rue de Sévigné itself is lovely and quiet, its small shops enlivening your walk. I loved seeing St Paul church at the end of our street every time we went out. In the apartment the roomy main bedroom has a comfortable bed while the second bedroom is tiny, holding the bed and some hangers for clothes. The entrance hall and living room make it comfortable for four. The bathroom has a wonderful large tub with a strong shower. The kitchen is small but complete if you want to cook. It's also warm in every room.

We were delighted with Natsumi Hagita the owner who was there to greet us. She's most friendly and helpful but not intrusive. I wish we could have enjoyed her company more!

We bought croissants at Paul, an excellent bakery, in the mornings. The cheese shop nearby is superior, too. Our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood were Camille and Le Temps des Cerises.

Wonderful convenient location

The apartment was as advertised, and the owner's helper was effective at explaining the apartment particulars. The unit is steps away from St Paul metro stop and surrounded by a delightful neighborhood of cafes, shops, and bakeries. Highly recommend.

Great, Cozy spot in the Marais

  • 5 of 5

Great, cozy spot in the center of the Marais. Clean, quiet, and centrally-locate, this was a great home base for our reunion in Paris. Saint Paul metro is a mere 3 minutes walk, and you're at the heart of hundreds of shopping, eating, and drinking options. Also - a great, large, comfortable bathroom (a rarity in Paris!). Our host was very responsive and allowed for a speedy check-in and easy arrangements throughout our stay. Thanks again!

Great location

  • 3 of 5

Great location but really too small for 4 adults.

Travelling with my 3 adult daughters so used fold away bed which meant we were tripping over each other, could not use the living room as a living room, and nowhere else to put bags etc. would be fine with one couple and two smaller kids or maybe at a pinch with two couples , though I wouldn't want to be in the second bedroom with a partner as nowhere to put bags. Main bedroom is good.

Painter in stairwell whilst we were there so quite awkward negotiating stairs etc.

Excellent location, would have liked a little more personal info re good restaurants, cafes etc nearby. Eg there is a nice bar exactly across the road! Info available was last updated over 6 years ago. Anna.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comment, Anna. I would like to remind you that the size of the apartment (40m2) was stipulated at the top of the description of my property so it shouldn't have been a surprise.. And to be honest, 40 m² is not a bad size in Paris where hotel rooms with double bed are often 12 m². I think it depends on what each person is looking for... but most of my guests are not coming to look for the size of their house back home, especially in the Marais area of central Paris where the land price is almost €15,000 per square meter. A lot of apartments are being rented claiming that they're in the Marais but they are often at the edge of Marais but this one is in the true center of Marais. So I would say that it would be quite difficult to find a kind of spacious apartment that you would like at the same price in this particular area. I know a studio apartment of 15 m² just behind my apartment being rented for the same price as mine! By they way, I must apologize for the inconvenience caused by the painters in the staircase.. They started in the beginning of September and told us that they'd be done in 1 month! I am surprised that they were still there when you came in the beg November. I am very sorry about that..but I think it must have been the very end of their work. Lastly, I am not sure which info you are talking about when I read "info available was last updated over 6 years ago"...?? If you mean the hand book of the apartment, yes, it could be that old because most of the things in the apartment haven't really changed since then but you are right, it's about time to change and we are just making the new one now!
