About Jerry or Lynn

Wilow House sits on 29 fully wooded acres that my Father and Grandfather ran with strawberries, apples, and blackberries in the 50s, 60s and 70s. As children we worked in the fields during the day & swam in lake Michigan on warm summer evenings. Over the past 25 years mother nature has reclaimed the berry fields with wooded forests; yet you can still find wild berries through out the trails. We have totally renovated 'Willow house' and hope our home is your home to enjoy in what's called by the airlines, "Little Europe".

Why Jerry or Lynn chose Michigan

Its so close to everything Southwest Michigan has to offer. It truly is a gem with 29 wooded private acres and a private walking trail for the woodsy enthusiasts. We recommend appropriate dress and plenty of bug spray.

What makes this house unique

It's private so no nearby Neighbors on top of you and it's so easy to just jump in the car and make a short trip to your favorite restaurant or beach. No sharing driveway or parking and if you just need to relax with a good book on a lazy day with the humming birds. It's perfect.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We have truly had a Wonderful time at Willow House, and in Michigan in general ! So much to do and see.I think our favorite place was the Dutch Village in Holland. The kids loved it ! Of course the beach was awesome and we enjoyed down town South Haven. We created so many great memories with our crew :) We picked Blueberries 10 pounds! We went exploring in the backwoods and found a few Blackberries here and there, played Frisbee in back yard to. Can't say enough good things about Willow house. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you so much for your hospitality. You all were so kind and helpful. Truly Grateful ! God bless you.

We loved Willow House and Michigan!

  • 4 of 5

We were in Michigan for the Ironman 70.3 race. It was so wonderful to have a house that was quiet, and provided enough space for my daughter's equipment. The system for checking in is so easy. Our only regret is that we didn't have enough time to take advantage of the beautiful back yard. We loved all of the bunnies we could watch from the kitchen window. Without a doubt, we will stay here again if we return to Michigan!

Location ok, yard very nice, kitchen dirty

  • 2 of 5

Nice and welcoming instructions from the owners.

Yard is large and nice. We had a lot of mosquitos due to rain, owners provide candles and spray.

Kitchen is not well equipped, dishes were dirty, Grill outside (barbecue) horrible and dirty.

Owner's Response: Sometimes guests clean dishes before they leave Willow house and might of miss something putting them away, our cleaning service is very good at keeping Willow House very clean and strive to give guests their very best. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need from cooking breakfast to oven casseroles, to pizza stones, and bowls, plates, forks, knives and spoons. There is even a blender for smoothies. We do provide a barbecue grill for guests and they are required to clean it before they leave; just hi-heat and a wire brush. Unfortunately mosquitoes come with Michigan climate, nature, weather and play. We do apply a environmentally safe granule to the lawn just for mosquitoes, but heavy or long rains can wash them away easily. We always strive to keep Willow House well stocked, inviting and clean for all of our guests. Thank you, Lynn & Jerry

Great on the inside, but needs help with curb appeal. Owners were accommodating and helpful.

  • 4 of 5

We were hesitant to go in when we saw the front of the house. It needs some sprucing up and a welcoming path to the front door. The inside was fine with lots of rooms to spread out and have fun. It was nice to have some games there. The backyard was beautiful and the fire pit was fun. Another bathroom would be a plus. It was a great location for exploring anywhere.

We would go again.

Owner's Response: We did have a very rainy month and the hedges and plants went crazy and snarly. Since then our Lawn and hedge guy has brought back its charm. We do hope to have and additional bathroom in by next year and are always adding improvements. Thank you, Lynn & Jerry

Wonderful, lovely place to call home

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our needs. Our two sons loved it! Spacious but still cozy, with an absolutely stunning backyard and most everything you could need stocked in the house (especially kitchen stuff). Great location just 10 minutes from Silver Beach but in an adorably remote, scenic area of Benton Harbor. Suited our family of 4 perfectly but definitely could have held additional people. Grill, washer and dryer, and a little outdoor seating area.

We would recommend bringing your own bottled water and jugs of it for cooking, etc., but other than that this house is everything you could ask for and more! And the owners are extremely helpful, responsive, and very kind. We would definitely stay here again.

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time at this property. Close to expressway, Lake Michigan, St. Joe's, Paw Paw Lake and Coloma. Great back yard for bon fires and kids to play. Owners were quick to respond any time we had a question or a concern.
