Welcome to The Fir & The Fig!
We are set on a private road 2 miles east of the Sonoma plaza and walking distance or a short bike ride to some of California's oldest and best wineries. Our location is in the heart of the wine country and only 40 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. We're on Sonoma's coveted east side so Napa is easily accessible in 15 minutes drive. You can start your day with a drive to Napa or just enjoy the laid back historic wineries all around you in Sonoma. We are uniquely positioned with wineries all around on old country roads so minimal traffic. This offers a unique opportunity to tour the area by foot or on bikes. There is a great article on our direct website along with a map with more details. Our favorite mode of transportation is cruising the bikes to a couple wineries en rout to the famous Sonoma plaza which offers an abundance of tasting rooms, 5 star restaurants and great markets. The plaza also hosts many great festivals throughout the summer and fall so you never know what you might roll up on.
Now that you know what's around us let's talk about the great property you would be enjoying when you're not out and about. We just finished major renovation in spring of 2013 so everything including the beds are brand new. We have a large hot tub just off the back deck that overlooks our brand new in-ground swimming pool. The pool features an auto-cover and solar heat which keeps it very comfortable for at least 6-7 months of the year. We can monitor the heat remotely, and if needed, we can use our gas heater to get it to your desired temperature in the off-season. There will be an additional charge if gas heat is desired. We have just completed our new bocce court and installed new landscaping for 2016.

We live in the Bay Area and fell in love with Sonoma's east side over the many years of renting homes. After a long search we finally found the place of our dreams here on Sonoma's east side. Looking forward to retiring here one day.
Chris purchased this estate in 2012
We love accessibility of this property from the Bay Area but yet how far away you actually feel. It's the perfect escape without the long travel time. We especially love the ability ride bikes or walk and enjoy nearby attractions without getting in our car.
Location, location, location! We love the secluded feel of our property while being such close proximity to so may great wineries and the Sonoma Square.
Once the kids are grown it is so hard to arrange a time for us to all get together. The Sonoma destination wedding of our niece motivated us to find the perfect place where we could hang out and enjoy being together. That perfect place was the Fir and the Fig. The guest house game room was the perfect hangout for the 30 somethings to give them their own space while the main house kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. We enjoyed the huge dining room table where everyone could be at one table (no more "kids" table). The pool and hot tub were a hit with everyone and the hammock was the preferred nap location. Just wished we could have stayed there longer. The owner responded quickly to our questions and was very helpful when we needed to track down a package that was sent to the house.
The Fir and the Fig was a perfect setting for a family vacation. We had ten people which included four children from age eleven to 20 mos. There was lots of room to spread out, wonderful pastoral scenery, many activities to participate in and of course, the game room was a huge hit! The new pool and landscaping were delightful!
The kitchen was well stocked, the dining table which could seat everyone was wonderful and the living room quite comfortable. Though the bedrooms were smallish, the beds were comfortable and the master was large enough to add a full sized crib rented from Napa Valley Baby Rentals. The property is conveniently located to the Sonoma square, grocery stores and wineries.
Our thanks to Chris who was responsive to all our needs.
We came to Sonoma as a party of 10 people (5 couples) looking to enjoy Napa and Sonoma to the fullest. This house served as the perfect location to operate from and the outdoor areas/game room made the experience so fun. For starters, the owners of the house were very professional and accessible for information and payment procedures. They were adament about the house rules but very fair and reasonable. As for the house itself, it's been updated on the inside and its very comfortable. The outdoor areas-- pool, patio, hot tub, shuffle board, bocci ball, etc. are really what makes this house an insanely good rental for large parties and entertainment. We had a private chef one night at the house and it was the highlight of the trip. I will say that the bedrooms/bathrooms in the main house are preferable to the ones in the game room house. We would highly recommend this rental to large parties and if we come back in the future there's no question we would stay here again. Thanks to the owners for helping us have an amazing trip!
5 couples stayed here for a 4 night trip. We really enjoyed the pool (heated to about 92 degrees the whole time), game room, and overall property layout. The kitchen, dining room, and living room provides an open floor plan that worked great for us. The two bedrooms in the guest house are pretty small, but other than that wouldn't be able to find a complaint anywhere else.
House was great. Plenty of space for everyone to be and sleep. Love that it is gated and being that we had a bunch of girls, we felt safe. About 3 minutes from Sonoma square so easy access to everything. They have a great game room too, but we didn't have time to utilize it! You do have to provide toiletries such as TP and paper towels. But has everything else you need. Also note, that at the end of your stay you have to put all sheets, towels, etc by the washing machine and take the trash out but that is minor :). Would definitely stay there again!
It was the perfect place for my family reunion for
10 people. Everything needed from kitchen to bedrooms
was included . The 5 bedrooms were well maintained.
The large game room was enjoyed by my grands.
