We spent three magical weeks at Beach House Resort Condo Unit 8, and we just loved it. Anna Maria Island is touted as "Old" Florida (laid back, devoid of high rises) and it did not disappoint. The beach is just beautiful. We watched amazing sunsets from our balcony. We saw dolphins. We ate at great restaurants. Our favorites were The Harbor Front, Eat Here, Poppo's on Pine St.--- and Ginny and Jane E's and Island Creperie for breakfast. Pine Street is definitely worth exploring. We enjoyed the Olive Oil Outpost and the Donut Experiment. The condo was well equipped with everything we needed. We food shopped at Public's on Anna Maria and Fresh Market in Bradenton. We swam, collected shells, took a sunset sail and stargazed at night. We also para sailed and crossed the bridge to jet ski. I was sad to leave! We'll be back.
I loved this perfect little getaway: The rooms were thoughtfully laid out and furnished--the kitchen had everything I needed to cook a complicated meal for guests (which I did). This patch of Florida beach evokes the old Florida days--low-key and friendly, low-rise and uncrowded. The house is walking distance from restaurants and shops--there is quality food to be had on the island for reasonable prices. I found this to be an incredibly relaxing getaway. For me, the best part is sitting on the balcony or the beach listening to the waves after dark, walking on the beach at all times, and oh, the sunsets!
