Casa Nomad in Nosara is surrounded by Costa Rica's wildlife jungle and is just 0.5 miles from the nearest beach with a beautiful garden and an infinity pool.
NOMAD house is close to the beach and off the main road. The location is private and comfortable. The perfect place for lovers and family.
My buddies and I rented Casa Nomad for two weeks. Gilda was an awesome host, he took us on a tour our first day to show us the lay of the land and to help get our vacation started on the right foot. The place itself is exactly as pictured. The pool, the rooms and the amazing professional kitchen. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a place thats far enough away from the crowd and close enough to drive to food, fun, surf and amenities. A bank machine, pharmacy, convenience store are all in a new mall 2 minute walk from cash Nomad. The canopy tour is also a two minute walk. Closest beach is less than a 5 minute drive. Gilda was easy going, and quick to respond when we needed his help and very flexible when we needed to change how many people would be coming. All I can say is if you want to go next March, better book it fast, or I will.
We had two families and rented the whole house. It is beautiful, very Moroccan design. The kitchen is AWESOME to cook in, though the house is close enough to pop over to Pelada beach or Guiones by car for meals too. Can walk to the beach, but in dry season it can be dusty as cars go by. We were all really comfortable and the place is beautiful. The pool was a joy for the kids and the adults, and we had such lovely evenings playing cards and laughing, or just looking up at the stars. Everything was carefully tended, clean, and wonderfully elegant without being in the least bit precious. Gildas was really helpful with recommendations and we felt really taken care of. Loved having the monkey visits in the late afternoon, watching the birds nesting in the palm trees, and did a fabulous kayak trip up the river to explore the mangroves (thank you cacho's rental). It is a great place to stay, though I definitely recommend you have a car. Next time we are going to ask Gildas to cook a meal for us!!!
Wow! We had an utterly delightful stay at Casa Nomad. We rented the whole house as we are two families with three kids age 9 & 11, and it was utterly perfect. The pool offered our northern selves a chance to cool down after incredible days at the beaches--Guiones and Pelada, respectively. The kitchen is, frankly, AMAZING to cook in. We got a great introduction to the house and the area from Gildas, who is a warm and welcoming host. Loved the birds nesting in the palm trees right outside, the monkeys coming in close to the house morning and evening, and really enjoyed the privacy with our kids, and the easy access (with car) to Nosara, Guiones, and Pelada. We were thinking that we wanted bikes only, but it was better to have a car because of the roads--challenging to just bicycle or walk the way to Guiones on the main roads because of the dust in the dry season. Nice walk for Pelada, though, with spectacular sunset swims. Everything was comfortable and sturdy for the kids, while still being really aesthetically and functionally pleasing for the adults. We want to come back and have Gildas cook a meal because he is a splendid chef as well!!! Loved, loved, loved the kayak tour through the mangroves and the surfboard and boogie board rentals at Cacho's too!!!!!!
I had a wonderful stay with a helpful landlord. Gildas spent time on my arrival to introduce me to the house features and to the best route to the beach for those amazing Playa Guiones "primordial" sunsets with the pelicans swirling and diving into the waters for their last fish meal.
The house was solid construction and modern design as advertised.
A wonderful, open cooks kitchen with extras like some additional spices and enough space to roller-skate if I desired! Blender and other small appliances were top notch. A cook's convection oven. No reason to dine out if you like to cook -- the very closeby Nosara "super-mercado" stocks all your needs including a butcher and fresh vegetables and wines and liquors.
A refreshing and clean plunge pool, indoor and outdoor living rooms, nice modern design baths (plenty o hot water). The outdoor large round sofa/chaise was a pleasure to read and nap on. The garden was well tended and added a nice touch of green during the winter dry season.
The supplied stereo amp (with sub-woofer) fit well with my Pandora app (internet radio) so I could listen to my favorite Jazz while reading or eating.
Gildas realized that I was alone as my companion had to stay back home. He offered and stopped by one evening and proved that he is also a good French cook (heavenly baked fresh fish catch in a moist, rendered sauce). While you may not get this optional treat; I was overwhelmed by such a generous offer and felt lucky.
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Noara! - We liked the seclusion of the place & yet we were so close to everything in town. The place was clean and well kept up. The pictures posted on VRBO are exactly what the place looks like - amazing setup and worked well for the 8 of us.
Thanks Gildas for making our vacation a memorable one. Enjoyed the dinner you made for us as well - highly recommend this for others. What a treat.
I have used VRBO before & I would say - this has been the bes so far !! Darlene and girls
We spent one week in Nomad..After a long trip from Europe (and from San José..) we were really overwhelmed by the beauty of the house. Spacious, comfortable, perfectly designed and decorated. We and our two young children (9 and 3 years old) really appreciate the lovely pool next to the terrace (so we could look after them while enjoying our fresh juice ;)). Gildas, the manager, has been very helpful and gave our son a one hour surf lesson that he is still talking about. As a french former chef, Gildas also cooked for us and to be honest , that was absolutely delicious. The house is close to many activities and only a few minutes drive from beaches (our favorite: Guiones). We only regret one thing: that it was not mangoes season yet (there are mango trees in the garden where monkeys hide! an unforgettable show for kids!). We definitely recommend Nomad!
You are at 5 minutes walking distance to the new mall with bank, restaurant mini supermarket and the gas station. 2 mins drive from Pelada beach and 6 mins from Guiones beach. You can also enjoy one of the biggest canopy tour in Costa Rica located just 2 mins from the house.
