The theme of this Lopez Island cedar home is Northwest nautical. The cabin is situated on 3 private acres with plenty of sunshine and grassy open space. If you're looking for a large, private property with lots of space to spread out and a gorgeous view, look no further.
The cabin faces north and has a view of Swifts Bay in the foreground and Orcas Island and Mt. Constitution in the background. The view reminds you of the special place you are in the world; surrounded by water and islands. Swift’s Bay beach is a 3 minute walk from the lower property and Spencer Spit State Park is a mere 10 minute walk up the gravel road. The cabin is a 10 minute drive from both the ferry landing and the village.
The floor plan includes two bedrooms, one full bath, kitchen, and great room with wood stove on the main floor and a sleeping loft, reading alcove, TV area, and ¾ bath on the second floor. The downstairs bedrooms each have a queen size bed and the sleeping loft has a queen bed and twin sized bunk beds. There is a port-a-crib available for the little ones.
There is a flat screen TV with a Blu-Ray/DVD player. We have a modest selection of movies for your viewing pleasure. There is wifi internet access as well.
The cabin has a large, wraparound deck for enjoying meals alfresco, listening to songbirds, watching deer graze or raptors soar high overhead. Adirondack chairs, reclining chairs, picnic table and a sun umbrella are on the deck for relaxing. The cabin is surrounded by an acre of grass for playing games or just having fun.
There is plenty to do on Lopez including biking, kayaking, whale watching, fishing, eating local organic food or just relaxing and doing nothing at all. Find out why the San Juan Island's are listed as one of the top island destinations in the world by Conde Nast and other travel publications.
This is a wonderful cabin to share family memories and enjoy everything that the San Juan Islands has to offer.
We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.

What an extraordinary find. The cabin is at once elegant and charming, with absolutely everything one could want to produce a delightful fireside dinner in front of a gorgeous water view. This warm, cozy cabin provided us a home away from home in a quiet, secluded spot, yet it was minutes away from anything we wanted to do. The appointments let you know a fisherman decorated it. The kitchen let's you know a cook helped. And the upstairs reading nook - with a lovely view - let's you know it was designed for comfort. My family and I loved every moment except for the part where we had to leave. We will be back.
I cannot recommend this more highly. It is now tied for first place with a cabin I know in Mendocino. Lovely spot for all ages, easily accommodates a large family or group.
This home and the owners were a wonderful combination to enjoying Lopez island and visiting other islands with the free inter-island ferry system. Beautiful setting and well equipped with everything we needed coming from out of town. Everything was communicated well before our arrival and suggestions helped us enjoy Lopez to the fullest. We would happily return to this home and hope to some day.
We arrived at dusk after a long travel day. Wandering down a quiet country lane and finding a sweet little cabin overlooking the water with a view if sailboats and ferries as they go along their routes.
The cabin was clean, quiet and the kitchen well stocked with cookware and essentials. Nice linens on the beds and in the bathrooms.
We especially appreciated the puzzles ! My family managed to complete three! We played a few rounds of croquet and tossed a frisbee in the yard.
Rich was very easy to work with and available when I thought I'd misplaced the entry code.
Thank you so much for sharing your gem of a cabin. It is obviously a place of joy and relaxation for you and your family.
We loved exploring Lopez and would love to return.
We were pleasantly surprised at the seclusion of the property and surrounding nature (lots of deer just like the pictures). The cabin felt warm and inviting and it felt like it was our own retreat. The owner sent us lots of information about Lopez beforehand and answered our inquiries immediately during our stay. It is definitely a cabin meant for a family with plenty of space inside and out. The decor was tasteful and the cabin was clean. The owner's hospitality and care for his guests was apparent. Would stay here again!
We stayed at the Nautical Sea Cabin for 4 nights and it was a fantastic getaway. It was very well maintained and we really appreciated contact with the owner throughout the time leading up to our rental. The kitchen was well stocked for family cooking, and we had no trouble finding everything we needed.
A great place to stay, we hope to come up again!
This is a charming cabin on the north end of Lopez, very close to Spencer Spit. It was a great size for our family of 6. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. The setting is private and serene. Our family just finished a weeklong bike tour of the San Juans and Victoria, and looking back we all agreed that this was our favorite place to stay. Lopez itself was lovely as always, but even though it has a reputation as the most bikable of the San Juans be aware that there are still some decent hills to contend with.
