About Allison Angell

I grew up on Androscoggin Lake in Leeds. After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in VT, I returned home to attend the University of Maine. I had an off and on collegiate career and graduated from The University of Southern Maine many years later with a Bachelor's in History and minor in Education. During that drawn out collegiate time I owned my own florist shop, selling ice cream, worked for L.L. Bean, began working in education and coaching basketball and I helped run Angell Cove Cottages. In 2009 I met Scott and we married, moved to Monmouth, Maine and welcomed our daughter the next year. Quinn was joined by her brother Jack in the spring of 2012. And the spring of 2013, we welcomed the addition of The Blue Heron Cottage to our family.

Allison Angell purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Allison Angell chose Leeds

When I was in college my parents began to develop our family homestead and the surrounding acres into a vacation rental business - Angell Cove Cottages. After my dad passed away, I stayed at Angell Cove for over a decade helping my mother, Barbara Angell, run the expanding business. Last year, after Barbara decided she wanted to lessen her work load as she considers retirement, we purchased one of the cottages to rent independantly as well as to use with our own young family. The Blue Heron Cottage and the Angell Cove Condiminium complex truly have an extraordinary spirit to them and we want you to have a wonderful experience staying in our family cottage, just as we do.

Heavenly Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked the Blue Heron for a long weekend. It is a pretty lakeside compound with about 10 cabins all lakefront. We were so lucky that there was no one else staying in the compound, we got the lake all to ourselves.

The place is quiet, secluded and beautiful. It was the perfect escape! I imagine that the experience would have been much different if the whole place would have been booked.

We had a great time. If you are looking for a quite get away this is perfect. Check out the black sand and the eagle on the island across the lake. And hike the trails behind the cabin.

Great very relaxing lake house

  • 4 of 5

Amazing wildlife, sounds of nature, beautiful sunrise and sets, friendly people, and quiet area. This is a great place to relax and forget about life for a while. I'm a smoker so I wish they told me before hand that it was a no smoking property. thats the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5

Awesome stay !

Right from the beginning, Allison answered our questions and provided the material for a perfect stay there. We had really good weather for sunbathing, kayaking, swimming, barbecues, etc. Really looking forward to return there for another summer getaway !

Amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

The place was awesome. Semi-private beach with incredible views. The cabin is just perfect. Very traditional very cosy and very clean. The best part of our stay was our landlord Allison. She was awesome. She made sure we had everything we needed and everything was on point. Definitely recommended for a gateway from a busy work-life. The place and area is pet friendly with a private beach dedicated for pets.

Definitely coming back!
