Black Bart Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

This updated Romantic Urban Cabin is centrally located, yet off the beaten track. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counters, electric appliances, maple cabinets and recessed lighting. The fireplace is a porcelain gas stove, no muss with fire-building, just flip the switch for instant warmth and atmosphere.. Comfy, knotty-pine living room with dimmable lighting throughout creates a warm ambiance. The wrap-around porch with it's Adirondack chairs gives a very Ralph Lauren feeling. Fabulous new bathroom 2015, great shower & heated floor. Adjacent to acres of open space; it is great for hikes, long walks and romping with kids and dogs.

An entry through convenient mudroom with washer and dryer is place to stash ski equipment, boots and wet gear.

About Dee

We came from the mid-west as college students for a summer job. Kathy and I have been friends since we met as black jack dealers at Sahara Tahoe in the early 1970's; it was a summer vacation that lasted for more than a decade! Eventually our lives went in various directions but our hearts and souls have been embedded in Lake Tahoe since that first summer. Kathy is now a casino manager in Reno and I have a career in real estate in the Bay Area - town of Los Gatos.

Dee purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Dee chose South Lake Tahoe

Tahoe in the 70's was deliciously decadent; the result of sharing that experience created life-long friendships for about 20 of us 'girls.' Though few of us remained at the Lake after 1980, we return almost every summer for our annual 'Reunion;' next year will be the 15th anniversary of those reunions. We rent a big, comfortable house either on the Lake or with a fabulous view of the Lake and spend 4-5 days reminiscing or trying to re-create those crazy times. And we have a blast! As our reunion group gets smaller, we spend most of our vacation reunions in our cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

We love being off the beaten track, yet right in the center of S. Lake Tahoe. All the open space behind the cabin makes us feel like we are in the woods, it's great to hike along Trout Creek enjoying the huge meadows that are all around the cabin.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for renting us your lovely cabin. We had a great time. It was the kids first snow! We didn't get any fresh snow but they didn't know the difference:).

Your place is terrific. I couldn't think of a more ideal place for this important "first" family memory. We will be back.

clean, quite, and all amenities were there

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the best and relaxing stays we could have asked for. The cabin was everything we could have imagined . The location on a very quite street was a real plus. Thank you Dee for letting us stay at your cabin. We are already talking about coming back again next year.

Comfortable and a great lay-out

  • 5 of 5

It was just two of us, but 2 additional people would comfortably fit in this lovely home. Everything was as advertised in this cabin. A well laid-out floor plan makes the "general living area" roomy and comfortable. The owner has considered every detail to make any stay relaxing and cozy. Cabin is well-located, but also in a quiet neighborhood. Thanks, and we hope to come back!

Perfect for our lil family

  • 5 of 5

The entire process was easy! Dee was very informative and responsive! The cabin was really cute, cozy, clean and perfect for our two girls and dog! The girls loved it and wanted to stay forever! We loved the kitchen and bathroom! Both were modern and a good size. Great location and close to everything! Wished we could've stayed longer! We want to come back for summer!

Quaint & charming little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 4 and this cabin was perfect for us! Only had 2 nights and really wished we had more. Clean, cute, nicely decorated but, homey at same time. Liked the twin beds in 2nd room so each girl has own space to sleep. Heated floor in bath nice, too. Thanks for having us!

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December. We could not have been happier. It was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The weather was pretty dreadful while we were there so we spent most of the time in the cottage. We were so glad that it had a great TV with a DVD player. We loved the gas heater that looks a like a wood burning stove. So cozy! The updated bathroom is gorgeous. The place is immaculate. The best part is that it is dog friendly, so we were able to bring our furry child along. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We can't wait to stay there again. Thank you, Dee!!
