About Jim Dillon

Live in the Burlington Vermont area. We love the lakes and mountains of Vermont!

Jim Dillon purchased this house in 2002

Why Jim Dillon chose Northeast Kingdom

This is our only vacation home. We use it in the winter to ski at Jay Peak and in the summer for the lake. Lake Eden is very clean - great for swimming. None of the milfoil, weed or algae problems seen in other Vermont lakes. It's a wonderful relaxing escape.

What makes this house unique

Great waterfront, clean lake, great downhill and cross country skiing close by in winter. Jay Peak waterpark and skating rink are new winter attractions.

Perfect vacation house

  • 5 of 5

I just got back from my "On Golden Pond" inspired vacation. The house and setting couldn't have been better. Upon arriving we immediately went to the beautiful yard to enjoy the sunset. We lucked out with perfect weather and enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs, on the dock, by the fire pit, or on the grass under a tree pretty much the entire 4 days. Kayaking and swimming was great! The house itself is even better than the photos portray. I loved the screened porch! The kitchen was perfect with wonderful appliances and high end knives, pot and pans, etc. Also, I was surprised at how well stocked it was....pretty much any spice/condiment you'd need. Beds were comfy. Everything very clean. On the one rainy day we enjoyed doing the provided jigsaw puzzles inside. But also took a nice day trip to see some covered bridges nearby and drove over Smuggler's Notch road. So beautiful. If I had to nitpick I would say we could still hear traffic from the highway even though the house is seemingly tucked away. Also there is a new house going up in the subdivision so there was some tractor noise from construction. But by no means, were either of those so disturbing that I wished I would've picked a different spot. Just wanted to let people know who may be looking for total seclusion from noise and civilization, that there is a little bit of activity. But by far, the worst part of the trip was leaving! I will certainly keep this property on my list for future vacations! Thanks so much!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Jim for the opportunity to rent your beautiful home on the lake. We travelled many miles and it was well worth it. Beautiful views, kayaking, great home cooking in a wonderfully stocked kitchen. And my dogs were in heaven! We've already booked for next year.

WOW!

Absolutely Amazing!!!

Our stay could not have been better. The home owner is extremely easy to work with. The setting is absolutely beautiful. This Lake Eden cottage is a wonderful vacation spot. The views of the lake from the porch and the property are just lovely! It is very easy to launch kayaks, lounge or swim from the dock. It was GREAT not having a TV--we relied on the loons, ducks, shooting stars and crossword puzzles for our entertainment. Lake Eden is a treasure and this cottage is a great venue from which to explore and enjoy.

This house was perfect. Right on the lake. Rent the kayaks for more fun. Night time fire pit for roasting marshmallows. Daytime and night swimming. The lake is clear and clean. The house is comfortable with all you need. Great kitchen and bathrooms. Comfy beds. Could not ask for a better place. Thanks Oonagh and Jim!

A beautiful home for a summer holiday

  • 5 of 5

We rented this incredible house for a family reunion last summer and it couldn't have been nicer. Plenty of space for everyone and a beautiful yard for the kids to enjoy. The owners were very gracious and helpful every step of the way and we would rent from them again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful vacation property!

  • 5 of 5

We had two separate long weekends at the Dillon cottage on Lake Eden. The lake is crystal clear, making boating and swimming a pleasure. The cottage is clean, and cozy and comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen making meal-time easy! The three bedrooms were perfect for our family vacation, mom and dad enjoyed the master suite, while married daughter had plenty the of room, and single son 'camped out' in the twin bedded room. We would highly recommend this property for a lake-side get-away vacation of any length! J/H B
