About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Let the stunning views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo mountains be the backdrop of your next tennis match or special get-together with friends. Every window has a view, every attention to high-end detail has been made.

Come play a few sets on Casa del Coyote's beautiful tennis court (some call it 'the best court in New Mexico') with it's wonderful views and comfortable seating for spectators.

Perfect for a golf, tennis or bookclub getaway, as well as family vacations, this spacious adobe style house invites you to gather by the pinon-burning kiva fireplaces in the living room, take your morning coffee under the covered portal outside looking east towards the Sangre de Cristo mountains, or watch the sun set over the Jemez mountains in the west while dining al fresco on the kitchen patio.

The centrally-located eat-in gourmet kitchen, with its granite counters and island and SubZero, Wolf, and Asko appliances, is well-stocked with the essentials for making a great meal, and roomy enough for your entire group to hang out in. You can eat your meals at the pounded copper 6 person dining table (easily expanded to seat 12) inside, or at the oval outdoor dining table on the kitchen patio.

Why stay at an inn or hotel, when you can enjoy all this space?

Four separate sleeping areas allow you to comfortably spread out (see description), and three full baths help keep everyone happy.

Numerous tennis racquets are available if you don't want to bring your own, and a can of tennis balls is provided.

The house's 2.5 acres has extensive landscaping, and is fully fenced for your privacy and containment of your dogs.

Our caretakers live on site in a casita overlooking the tennis court that is well separated from the main house. They are eager to take care of any of your needs or concerns.

About Connie Keeran

Though we live on the East Coast now, we look forward to having more time to spend in sunny Santa Fe now that we have bought a second home there. We love tennis, golf, hiking, biking, eating out, art and opera, and Santa Fe is just the place to indulge in all our passions.

Connie Keeran purchased this house in 2011

Why Connie Keeran chose La Tierra

I grew up in Santa Fe close to the Plaza, and knew I wanted a Santa Fe home on the north side of town without the noise and congestion you get right in downtown. The land northwest of Santa Fe is known for its rolling hills, sweeping views and quiet, so our house located in the residential community of La Tierra, is perfect. A short ride to downtown Santa Fe, on a quiet cul-de-sac with beautiful views and a tennis court - - what could be better? The ride to and from the house to Santa Fe is actually a plus, the views of the mountains each way are spectacular. Santa Fe is the perfect vacation destination with something for everyone - - art, culture, restaurants, history, golf, tennis, hiking, skiing, biking, rafting. Our home is a great place to gather with friends, play some tennis, read by the fire or get away from the heat under the covered portal. Come enjoy it!

What makes this house unique

We are located just over fifteen minutes from downtown Santa Fe and close to the many activities available in northern New Mexico.

Air conditioning is not really needed in Santa Fe, instead the house has an evaporative cooling system to lower the temperature as well as ceiling fans in most rooms. Skylights give the house a light and airy feeling - you can even see the moon thru them. Our art work and old maps add visual interest to the rooms . Play some poker or bridge at our marble-topped poker table.

Beautiful,comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Connie for sharing your lovely home with us. A spacious and inviting environment for our family gathering. The private patios off bedrooms and living spaces allowed guests to enjoy quiet moments when they chose. The house was very clean with lots of extra details that made our stay more enjoyable...thank you for the thought put into each space. We enjoyed cooking together in the large well stocked kitchen and eating out on the patio. Lawrence was there to greet us when we arrived and available if we had any questions. The quiet residential location away from the city was an oasis for us. Santa Fe is only a short drive away. Thank you so much we would love to return...your property is high on our list of places we have stayed.

Wonderful experience!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for 4 nights and had a really great time.

The house has three huge bedrooms, and enough seating/bedding for 6 people. All the appliances are top notch in terms of quality. Everything in the house was nicely prepared prior to our arrival. I definitely recommend this location to anyone vacationing in Santa Fe.

Thanks Connie and Lawrence!

We had a wonderful stay at this property during our visit to Santa Fe on 10/06/17 - 10/09/17. Our party included 4 adults and 3 children. There was more than enough room in the 3 bedrooms. Our 3 children slept in one bedroom comfortably with the two twin beds and folding cot that was available. There are two master suites, one has a king bed and one has a queen bed, each with plenty of space. The kitchen is amazing with room for cooking, eating, and hanging out. During downtime we enjoyed the awesome tennis court, putting green, beautiful patios, and cozy living room with large TV. The house was immaculate and well stocked with all of the amenities that we needed during our stay. The property care-taker was friendly, helpful, and readily available when needed. The house is 15-20 minutes away from all the fun things to do that Santa Fe has to offer and about 50 minutes to Albuquerque. I highly recommend the Santa Fe Plaza, Meow Wolf, and the International Balloon Festival. We will definitely stay here again on our next family trip to Santa Fe! By far the best VRBO/Home Away experience that we've had!

Great Santa Fe Style Accommdations in serene setting

  • 5 of 5

Set outside the busy city center, surrounded by beautiful scenery of brush, desert, mountain views in the distance. Altho you're out of the tourist hub-bub, there is easy access to town and Opera.

This is a beautiful, quintessential Santa Fe style home. Lots of windows and doorways that can be left open for breezes and sunshine to pour through the interior. Large, spacious beautifully furnished living room, dining room and kitchen. Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped (for example: 3 kinds of coffee makers and a wine refrigerator). Two great patios, one for morning coffee and one for afternoon Happy Hour. Good looking BBQ that we did not have the chance to use. Large bathrooms with lots of countertop space are great for roommates that share a bath. Floorplan is excellent, with one bedroom and bath set apart - worked perfect as my "office" space since I had to do work stuff during the week. We're four senior women - and found the mattresses very comfortable.

Extensive city trail system within easy walk of house, so you can hike or bike for miles in a rural setting.

Caretaker gave us a warm welcome and answered our last minute questions. Very congenial but never obtrusive.

Caveats: You may find a desert bug or two in the house (don't worry, not roaches!) - very small price to pay for the setting and gorgeous accommodations. Don't recommend arriving after dark the first time you go to house because this rural setting's roads are not well lit, and be sure to turn into first left in cul-de-sac (there is a second driveway, but not as easy to enter.) Last quarter mile or so of roadway is gravel - very well maintained.

All 4 of us really looking forward to returning, as well as booking for other family and friend gatherings. This accommodation is delightful.

Santa Fe has great restaurants, museums, art galleries, world-famous opera, and many outdoor festivals on the plaza, a short drive away. The Santa Fe Opera is 20 minutes from the house. The Santa Fe area has wonderful golfing - there are 10 public courses within 90 minutes of our house, and Las Campanas' (private) two 18-hole courses are only minutes away. Tennis is available on site at our fabulous tennis court. Great hiking is all around - follow the Anasazis' footsteps on the mesa at Tsankawi and climb into their cliff dwellings at Bandelier, hike to the Rio Grande from the east or west, hike Atalaya for a bird's eye view of Santa Fe, drive to the Santa Fe Ski Basin and test your endurance with a hike up Baldy Mountain. During the winter, the Santa Fe Ski Basin is 45 minutes away, and Taos Ski Valley about 2 hours away for downhill skiing.
