About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Let the stunning views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo mountains be the backdrop of your next tennis match or special get-together with friends. Every window has a view, every attention to high-end detail has been made.

Come play a few sets on Casa del Coyote's beautiful tennis court (some call it 'the best court in New Mexico') with it's wonderful views and comfortable seating for spectators.

Perfect for a golf, tennis or bookclub getaway, as well as family vacations, this spacious adobe style house invites you to gather by the pinon-burning kiva fireplaces in the living room, take your morning coffee under the covered portal outside looking east towards the Sangre de Cristo mountains, or watch the sun set over the Jemez mountains in the west while dining al fresco on the kitchen patio.

The centrally-located eat-in gourmet kitchen, with its granite counters and island and SubZero, Wolf, and Asko appliances, is well-stocked with the essentials for making a great meal, and roomy enough for your entire group to hang out in. You can eat your meals at the pounded copper 6 person dining table (easily expanded to seat 12) inside, or at the oval outdoor dining table on the kitchen patio.

Why stay at an inn or hotel, when you can enjoy all this space?

Four separate sleeping areas allow you to comfortably spread out (see description), and three full baths help keep everyone happy.

Numerous tennis racquets are available if you don't want to bring your own, and a can of tennis balls is provided.

The house's 2.5 acres has extensive landscaping, and is fully fenced for your privacy and containment of your dogs.

Our caretakers live on site in a casita overlooking the tennis court that is well separated from the main house. They are eager to take care of any of your needs or concerns.

About Connie Keeran

Though we live on the East Coast now, we look forward to having more time to spend in sunny Santa Fe now that we have bought a second home there. We love tennis, golf, hiking, biking, eating out, art and opera, and Santa Fe is just the place to indulge in all our passions.

Connie Keeran purchased this house in 2011

Why Connie Keeran chose Santa Fe

I grew up in Santa Fe close to the Plaza, and knew I wanted a Santa Fe home on the north side of town without the noise and congestion you get right in downtown. The land northwest of Santa Fe is known for its rolling hills, sweeping views and quiet, so our house located in the residential community of La Tierra, is perfect. A short ride to downtown Santa Fe, on a quiet cul-de-sac with beautiful views and a tennis court - - what could be better? The ride to and from the house to Santa Fe is actually a plus, the views of the mountains each way are spectacular. Santa Fe is the perfect vacation destination with something for everyone - - art, culture, restaurants, history, golf, tennis, hiking, skiing, biking, rafting. Our home is a great place to gather with friends, play some tennis, read by the fire or get away from the heat under the covered portal. Come enjoy it!

What makes this house unique

We are located just over fifteen minutes from downtown Santa Fe and close to the many activities available in northern New Mexico.

Skylights give the house a light and airy feeling - you can even see the moon thru them. Our art work and old maps add visual interest to the rooms . Play some poker or bridge at our marble-topped poker table.

great place!

  • 5 of 5

We were surprised by how BIG this rental is - a full, large house on 2+ acres! Somehow I thought from the pics of a tennis court that it was a condo with a shared court, but no! The property manager lives on the premises in a smaller structure, across the court from the house- just FYI - very pleasant and helpful, unobtrusive.

Plusses: Lovely fixtures, comfy beds, very clean, 3 full bathrooms and a well-stocked, gourmet kitchen. Absolutely quiet and a great, very safe-feeling location. It is well away from the plaza, but Santa Fe is small enough that this does not matter, unless you are walking. Great stars and sunsets!! Big place, 2 master suites - so lots of privacy.

Minuses: It would be great to get some lighting in over the "poker table" (it's not very usable). The beds in the "singles" room are really small - even at 5'5" my feet were hanging off the end! Fine for kids or short adults - would be great if one was swapped out for a double/full :-).

All in all we strongly recommend this rental - it was nicer than I'd thought it would be.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your strong recommendation, and taking the time to write a detailed review. I appreciate your thoughts about the twin beds and lighting over the poker table, and will work on addressing both of those issues.

Love the Home. Will book again.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this lovely comfortable home. Plenty of room, beautiful views, and quiet neighborhood. Larry, the caretaker, was most helpful and friendly. He walked us over to the local hiking trails and explained the routes.

This home is in a good general location to downtown, river rafting, and national parks.

The owner provides information for the area including restaurants.

Nice House

  • 4 of 5

Very lovely house in great area but was disappointed to find out that the caretaker and his wife also live on this property with you (listing did indicate caretaker lives on property in casita but I did not realize the casita was the glass window building that sits right at the tennis court and within sight of the main residence. No privacy whatsoever on tennis court.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed our house and the surrounding area. I will update our listing to make clear my caretakers live in the casita 200 feet from the main house, overlooking the tennis court.

College Reunion for 6 Girlfriends

  • 5 of 5

What a great find. We were originally looking for a place near the plaza due to issues with a couple of girls not being able to walk long distances. We decided to go to 5 Vista Coyote instead and try to park close to the Plaza when visiting. We were quite surprised by how close we were to town and did not hesitate to jump into our rented Suburban to go to town or do some grocery shopping. We never had a problem finding parking spaces near the Plaza.

Our group loved the house. It was huge and allowed for multiple seating areas for us to chat, either indoors or outdoors. Back porch had amazing views while side porch had weather protection when the nights were cooler. Great living room and dining room to sit as well.

The kitchen was really well stocked as was the laundry accommodations when needed.

Owner Connie sent us very detailed information on the house as well as the restaurants and things to do.

We all felt that we would share this site with any friends visiting Santa Fe.

I have been to several VRBO rentals and this one meets the high standards that I have come to love with VRBO.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Found this on VRBO and was quite impressed with the accommodations. Fantastic Santa Fe feel to the house and to the entire property. The rooms were much bigger than anticipated. Great for sitting outside and relaxing watching sunset/sunrise but also convenient to have beautiful tennis court right out the front door. Great kitchen area fully stocked for any level of cooking and spacious enough to gather everybody in kitchen and eating area for fun and fellowship. Very cozy and comfortable. Easy/quick commute to town and to the mountain base.

Incredible Find!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our stay in Santa Fe. Larry, the caretaker, was so nice and friendly upon our arrival and had the house stocked with all of the necessities. The house was so large and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit. You will not be disappointed!!

Map

Santa Fe has great restaurants, museums, art galleries, world-famous opera, and many outdoor festivals on the plaza, a short drive away. The Santa Fe Opera is 20 minutes from the house. The Santa Fe area has wonderful golfing - there are 10 public courses within 90 minutes of our house, and Las Campanas' (private) two 18-hole courses are only minutes away. Tennis is available on site at our fabulous tennis court. Great hiking is all around - follow the Anasazis' footsteps on the mesa at Tsankawi and climb into their cliff dwellings at Bandelier, hike to the Rio Grande from the east or west, hike Atalaya for a bird's eye view of Santa Fe, drive to the Santa Fe Ski Basin and test your endurance with a hike up Baldy Mountain. During the winter, the Santa Fe Ski Basin is 45 minutes away, and Taos Ski Valley about 2 hours away for downhill skiing.
