This cottage is cozy and clean!

  • 5 of 5

The upstairs has 2 bedrooms one with two nice big bunk beds the other a queen. Balconies for both. Upstairs half bath (no tub or shower). Downstairs has master bedroom and bath, kitchen, dining room and living room. There is a washer/ dryer and a 2nd shower in a utility room. Two bikes in the garage were fun to peddle around the peninsula. Gas grill (We didn't use it).

We ate breakfast at the cottage but we went out all day every day of our week.

We loved our stay!!

Location, Location, Location

  • 4 of 5

Owner is pleasant and easy to work with. The peninsula is very quiet and relaxing. Cottage is well equipped with a rustic feel. The location is perfect. 25 minutes to most of Traverse City, 45 minutes to the Dunes and Platte River. 5 minutes to one of the nicest township playgrounds and splash pads we've ever seen. Perfect for getting kids energy out as an alternative to a day at the beach.

Only recommendation would be to bring a baby gate for the top of the stairs if you feel your kids might be up in the night to go to the bathroom, as they will be passing buy an open staircase.

Good set up for adults and children. Everything we needed!

  • 4 of 5

Great cabin! Lots of space for adults and children. Good amenities in the community. Bikes were nice to have to ride to the various beach accesses. We used the fire pit every night.

Nice home good beds and kitchen but no towels

  • 4 of 5

Nice family home across from lake. We were here for Interlochen graduation week so busy with that. Didn't do lake stuff but there are bikes and a canoe. The porch furniture hadn't been cleaned so when the sun came out it wasn't worth it to have to clean a chair to sit on. Beds are all nice and kitchen is very well equipped. The towels not being provided are a pain for people who fly here. And we bought a bath mat because the bathroom floor was bare. Not even hand towels? Please give an option to pay extra for towels being provided. We brought a suitcase just for that. And a bath mat is a staple. Left it for others! Clean the porch furniture. Otherwise nice place.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, glad to hear that you enjoyed the cottage and area! Our cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and we also provide all bedding, hand soap, and toilet paper. Towels are not provided because we do not have the commercial facilities or staff to manage that level of laundry. Also, guest requirements for towels vary greatly based on the total number of people and their travel plans. Over the years we have found it simply works best for guests to provide their own towels based on the needs of their specific group. I am sorry if this was inconvenient for you, yet our towel policy was clearly stated on our web page and in your rental agreement. We would consider offering towel service in the future if it could be managed by a subcontractor or linen service in the area.

We loved our stay at this Cottage. Lisa was and is the best person I've ever worked with and hope to meet this awesome Lady some day. The Cottage was great size for our group of 7 that stayed there and then our brother and sister n law came and stayed for 8 to 10 hours a day and would hang out. Lisa had almost everything we needed for our stay,. Again Thank You Lisa and Home Away for such great explaining of the places and being easy to work with. We will be back!!!!!
