Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4) Long Range Mountain View

About David & Peg
After I bought The Cabin in 1998, my husband became a mountain lover too. Being in the mountains reminds me of the old Native American, Nesmuk, who is credited with saying, 'We don't come out here to rough it. We come out here to smooth it. Things are rough enough in town.' Just driving up the road to the place creates a feeling of serenity we don't find anywhere else. We're sure you'll agree.
David & Peg purchased this Cabin in 1998
Why David & Peg chose Newland
The location is perfect because it is isolated, surrounded by over 100 undeveloped acres, yet just a short drive into town for everything you need and close to many wonderful trails, sites, and activities.

This cabin is extremely cozy and hidden at the top of a winding mountain. The moment you walk in you are greeted with a very welcoming living room area equipped with a couch, coffee table, television and fireplace. The kitchen has everything you need; a gas stove, oven, fridge, and microwave. Essentially what I am trying to say is that the only things you will really need to bring are your personal items and food. Everything else is provided.
The outside is gorgeous! You have an incredible view of rolling mountains and hills which is always nice to wake up to. A fire pit is in the back with firewood provided. If you're in the mood for grilling, there is grill out back as well with propane.
This cabin provides excellent value and I cant recommend it enough to people. Just wish we could've stayed longer than 3 days. Thanks so much for all of the accommodations.
We all had a nice relaxed Thanksgiving weekend - even with the lack of electricity (12hr) due to an ice storm. Thanks Peg & David.
Very good option for a cabin close to High Country.
Enjoyed our stay. No complaints. Would stay again.
We loved it. The cabin was wonderful (especially the beds). The view was spectacular. So secluded.
Peg and David were very helpful. We would definitely go back again.
We loved everything about this cabin and will definitely go back
Fantastic, Quiet, Relaxing Retreat.
WOW! The views are better in person than the photos show. The cabin was very well equipped, right down to long forks for s'mores. The firewood was provided and there was even a log holder full of firewood in the cabin. The owner's emailed us to make sure we arrived and that everything was fine. The road up is a single lane, gravel road. Take it slow and you'll be fine. We went to Grandfather Mountain, along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Moses Cone Estate and Linville Falls and even stopped at the Grandfather Vineyard for a wine tasting. Cell phone reception was great. If you want a base of operation for seeing the best the High Country has to offer while staying somewhere super relaxing then this is the place for you.
The cabin is on 21 acres where your dog will love to run. We live on the same acreage, but you can't see one home from the other although you could walk from one to the other.
Appalachian State University in Boone which offers a fabulous summer festival of entertainment.

Numerous fly fishing spots all around.

And don't forget the Zip Line!
The Avery Williams YMCA is an excellent gym with an indoor pool including swim lanes, 2 water slides and a water playground. Non-members can drop in for $10/person for the day.
There is really too much to mention and more to do than you'll have time to do!
