We stayed at the house for a week, with my daughter and her family. While the neighborhood was beautiful; stunning homes, well manicured, and a community pool, this house was not as we expected.
The house was extremely crowded with furniture, belongings of the owner, and duplicates of many items. The main floor, where the kitchen, family room and dining/living room are was extremely congested and tight. In lieu of a kitchen/dining table is a large pool table, leaving no table from which to eat from. Storage did not exist for any items brought with you, and the walk-in pantry/closet was jam-packed. The garage, where we hoped to keep beach items and bikes, was full from floor to ceiling, front to back, not even leaving room for the trash cans (they are left in the driveway).
The upstairs again has duplicates of furniture, making it feel like you are being closed in...claustrophobic! Access to the 2nd floor sitting room doesn't exist due to extra furniture, which also blocks the 2nd floor balcony. Closets and dressers are 1/2 full with personal belongings of the owner, and one of the rooms smells of cat or dog urine.
Sadly we would not recommend the home; it's hard to relax due to the extreme congestion of the home; it feels like its closing in on you-there is stuff everywhere, literally everywhere. The home seems to be used as a storage unit for the owners, and not as a beach home they rent.
So much furniture and stuffed cabinets made the house uncomfortable to be in. The open staircase, and spiral open staircase to the 3rd floor, made it very scary for children. There is a large pool table in the living room - nowhere to have a family dinner unless at the island or outside in the backyard. The garage is also completely filled with more furniture and household items.
On the plus side, all linens and towels were provided.
Very expensive for the lack of room due to excessive furniture and STUFF.
This was a perfect home for a family vacation! We had three generations including 3 children and there was space for everyone. The home was very clean and beautifully furnished. Although temperatures were in the mid 90's for the whole week the AC functioned perfectly/ even on the third floor ! Linda was a warm and welcoming owner- and instantly available for any questions.A community pool a 3 min walk away was an added bonus!😎
We rented this home for two weeks the summer of 2016. The rental process was smooth, and the owner, Linda, was wonderful to work with. Upon arrival, the home was extremely clean and prepared for our arrival, even including clean sheets on the beds and bath towels, which is not common with rentals. Linda met me at the house to show us around and ensure we were checked in; having been there herself to make sure the house was clean and ready for us.
Unfortunately the reality of the house compared to the website and communications with the owner do not match, leading to disappointment in our rental-
The main living room is not as shown on the home page- instead of a neat living area with coffee table and 2 chairs, in front of the fireplace, there is a large pool table in the middle of the room, beside a large sectional which you can not access due to a coffee table in front of it.
- The back bedroom has an extreme odor, likely due to the house being pet friendly. The first evening we thought there was an electrical issue in there and spent a long time looking at the outlets, lamps etc, hoping to find the source before going to bed. We then realized it was the rug that had a very strong odor which permeated the room, and beyond, the entire 2 weeks we were there, even once we removed it
I have rented numerous times through Homeaway and VRBO and have never encountered a house such as this; where the owner is partially moved in and/or using it for their own storage. I am used to a locked closet, where personal items are stored, and maybe some kitchen or pantry items (spices etc) left for renters to use, however I have never rented a house where large portions of the home kept the owners personal belongings. It felt like we were visiting a friend, and living amongst her belongings, however we were paying to be there as renters. Closets and dressers are partially full with personal belongings, even a wedding gown, the garage is completely full with furniture and stuff, not leaving any room for your own beach items, rooms have extra furniture which don't seem to belong and take up space, the pantry and walk-in closet were completely filled (even an ottoman was being stored in the walk-in pantry). The house felt as though two homes had been combined and everything moved into one home. We would not rent here again.
This is an amazing home. Surpassed only by its wonderful owner, Linda. My family enjoyed our stay here and we recommend it highly.
We have rented this property for 3 years. We found it scanning VRBO for a rental in Rehoboth. The pictures do not do it justice. When we expressed interest, the owner, Linda, offered to meet us and show us the house. We loved it the minute we walked in. It is upscale, spacious, beautifully decorated and a great place to relax and entertain. Unlike most rental properties at the beach, we could live here as is. It is convenient to everything but not on the beach, which is what we prefer. Walk to town and restaurants, relax at the community pool, relax on the enclosed back porch, entertain in the gourmet kitchen and living area, bike to Lewes on the nearby bike path. Pool table. Linda is a hands-on owner and a pleasure to work with. This house is a gem and we can't say enough about it. There are no negatives.
