We had a good visit at the house in Rinzenberg. It is definitely well described as a manor house. The interior is full of heavy, dark, solid wood beams and furniture. There is a wood burning fireplace and large balcony overlooking the valley. It is in a very quiet area. While the house is older, it was clean and worked nicely for us. There is only one bathroom so that can be a little challenging if you have a large group but there is also a shower in the basement. This house could best be described as a German hunting lodge. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.
Rinzenberg is located on the southern edge of the “Schwarzwälder Hochwald”, a closed woodland area in the Hunsrück hill range. The village is situated approximately 532 meters above sea level. At 668 meters above sea level the “Wehlenstein” mountain raises over the village. 6 km away, the district town Birkenfeld is situated where you can buy all the things you might require (food, etc.).
