Independent 2 bedroom apartment. Separate, private entrance with kitchen. Each room has private bathroom. Recently remodeled in classic Tuscan style with antique furniture throughout. Just outside of Florence, Italy. Short 16 minute train from Figline Valdarno brings you into the city center of Florence. Centrally located between the major tourist cities of Florence, Siena and Arezzo, our farmhouse located in Reggello is a great place from which to plan all your Tuscan excursions.
Relax at the newly finished swimming pool, play a few matches of tennis on the old style court. Walk around the premises to enjoy nature. Take a stroll through the olive orchard, pick some biologically fresh fruit off the trees and view the farm animals out to pasture. Grab a bike and go for a ride to Reggello and partake in a delicious Italian gelato.
Organize a classic Tuscan dinner in one of the many quaint cozy restaurants and pizzerias within walking distance, or a short drive away. Grill out a classic Tuscan T-bone steak on the provided barbecue grill in the court yard.
Whatever your needs, we are sure we can accommodate them!
We are about 30 minutes by car from the city center of Florence. If your intentions are to see the sights in the city, I would recommend taking the direct train from Figline Valdarno to the center of Florence. It is a 16 minute train ride and then you don't have to worry about parking in the center which can be problematic. The Figline train station is 7 minutes from our house. Figline Valdarno also has a nice central square with all types of shops from ice cream / bar / Benneton, etc. And on Tuesday mornings has a market in the center. If you have plans to shop, we are located about 15 minutes away from 'The Mall', 'Groove' and 'Fashion Valley' outlet centers located in Leccio. These are the high fashion outlet shopping centers with all the famous brands of Italian fashion, Ferragamo, Gucci, Burberry, Sergio Rossi, Trussardi, D&G, Nike, Hugo Boss, Prada, Mont Blanc, just to name a few. Our town of Reggello, 3 km away, also has a nice center with small shops, ice cream, bars, restaurants, and the weekly market is Saturday mornings.
Check in is at 3pm and checkout is at 11am, but these are rather flexible. This is a small, family run business, not a large hotel with rigid rules. I'll try to accommodate any requests you have.
It has been my experience that when guests rent apartments with a kitchen, they tend to prepare many of their meals themselves. That said, if you'd like to have some or all breakfasts included during your stay, we can arrange that too . Normal breakfasts include homemade muffins, freshly baked croissants, yoghurt, cereal, juices, milk, tea, coffee, etc. We can also prepare lunch and dinner by reservation when the chef is available. There is a patio off the apartment with a gazebo for dining outside and a grill available for guests to use also.
Self motivated, carefree individual. Recently remodeled old Tuscan farmhouse into an agriturismo (B&B). Served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from September 1991- September 1999. Born in Wisconsin, currently live in Reggello, Italy. I enjoy running, biking and swimming.
Thomas Landenberger purchased this farmhouse in 2011
English speaking owner and owner's wife and family.
Impagabile!
We had a lovely 12 night stay in Reggello. The property is beautiful and you really need a car to get the most out of your stay. Great for visiting Florence, Chianti area and Siena. The accommodation is bigger than in the description as it now has a sitting room and 3 bathrooms which were all clean and decorated in the local style. The family animals ( cats, dogs and chickens) roam freely around the gardens which you should be aware of if that would cause you an issue. We picked and ate figs and pears off the tees which was lovely. A wonderful holiday.
Thank you Thomas. My wife and I stayed with our 2 year old in this really lovely little apartment. We had a great time. It is beautifully kept and clean. 2 nice bedrooms, a kitchen with dining table and two shower rooms. Quite classic decor and that adds to it charm. It had a good range of of kitchen items and even had some basic supplies in the cupboard with some croissants for breakfast!
It is quite far into the countryside and you would definitely need a car. We had easy day trips to Florence on the train (parking was free at the train station 10 mins away), Pisa and Luca (we would definitely recommend going here as it has some great walls to wonder round and had some nice shops and piazzas).
There is a menagerie of animals around the house. There were 3 dogs which were very friendly and 4 cats. One of these had just had 4 kittens which provided much entertainment for our 2 year old. There are also some chickens and cockerels as well as geese, rabbits, budgies, Terrapins. Our little boy loved seeing these every morning as well as bouncing on the trampoline and watching Thomas on his various farm machines.
The swimming pool looks great but on our week it was quite cloudy and so wasn't that warm. It was a bit too cold for our two year old but some other hardier one year old from another family seemed very happy. There is a good supply of floats and toys around the pool. The tennis court is a little dilapidated but the net looked good and you could have a game on it quite easily.
Thomas was very friendly and we had lots of chats around the pool or whilst watching him cut the grass. He offered lots of help when our flight got cancelled at last minute (due to a baggage handler strike in Pisa). He also helped with directions and recommendations on what to do.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable week and was very relaxing in this Tuscan getaway.
If you like nice charcuterie and meat then go to Greve in Chianti. Theres also some great wine places. Be warned - don't go to the pub for food in regello. Go to the little restaurant across the road by the bell tower and have the fish!

Our family stayed here for 8 days. Thomas and his wife could not have been more helpful, ensuring our stay was really enjoyable. The description of the holiday home is accurate and the property is very well maintained. The small farm is situated in beautiful Tuscan countryside, yet a quick train journey gets you into the middle of Florence, so offering the best of both worlds. The house was really well appointed and as it was very hot when we visited, the pool was an absolute delight. A superb and relaxing holiday.
This is a wonderful property with a lovely apartment. The host Raffaela was amazing. We named her Santa Raffaela. As the property is remote and we did not have a car we feared we would be stranded. Upon our arrival Raffaela's brother-in-law Allissandro drove us to the local market so we could purchase groceries for our stay. Raffaela drove us to and from the local train station for our excursions. Raffaela was like an old friend. Sharing some wine poolside in the evenings and sharing stories about our lives. Their dogs were a fun part of our "little family in Tuscany". We felt as though we were visiting with long time friends. We had everything in the apartment that we needed and we were very comfortable. I highly recommend staying with Rafaela and Thomas (Thomas was out of town but very helpful getting the bbq lighted via skype. Yes I still have my eyebrows!!).
Fattoria l Ciliegi is a wonderful 16-acre vacation rental in the heart of Tuscany. Run a Wisconsin native and his Italian wife, the farm is a quiet retreat from which you can easily get to all the big name tourist spots, but far enough off the beaten track to give you a quiet home base from which to explore the heart of Italy at your own pace. From the farm, it is an easy drive to Florence, Pisa, Venice, Rome and all they offer. If driving is not your thing, you can catch a high speed train in nearby Figline Valdarno and be in Florence in 30 minutes, or Rome in two and a half hours.
Fattoria l Ciliegi is spotlessly clean, comfortable and homelike. Our 2-bedroom apartment had two full baths, a kitchen and a private entrance. We did not get in the pretty swimming pool, but did enjoy relaxing at pool side. Neither did we try out the tennis court. Fattoria l Ciliegi translates to the Cherry Farm, and the grounds are lush with fruit trees, roses and a herb garden. Our hosts are great cooks. They made us the best meals of our entire 2-week trip. They are wonderfully warm, helpful hosts. I would go back in a heartbeat.
If, however, you are someone who likes to step out of the hotel into the heart of tourist central, Fattoria l Ciliegi is not for you. Nor is it for you if you are allergic to animals since numerous family pets have the run of the grounds.
We would go back in a heartbeat!
Sorry that I wrote my review in German,it was easier for me.
Friendly regards Uli und Inge
