Incredible views from every window of this beautiful home! Enjoy watching deer, elk, eagles and other wildlife among the pines as you sit on a large deck overlooking a golf course, large pond and mountains. This comfortable , well appointed home with a stone fireplace, hardwood floors, 3 large bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms is a great place to enjoy family and friends. A fully equipped kitchen and large dining area as well as a secondary deck with a barbecue offer plenty of opportunity for enjoying great meals among the pines. This home is close to downtown Flagstaff, lots of nearby hiking, numerous excellent restaurants, access to the Continental Country Club facilities including swimming, tennis, gym, golf and children's pool.
In the summer the weather is consistently warm and mild and cool in the evenings. There are a multitude of community activities to please most everyone's preference including art fairs, concerts, rodeos, theater, cook offs and more. In the winter this home is located across from the Best sledding hill in all of Flagstaff. The blanket of snow is breathtaking as you warn yourself in front of the fire while playing games or watching one of the many movies available after a day of skiing. This home and its' amazing surroundings will become a repeated destination for those seeking a relaxing get away in the mountains.
My husband and are native Californians, met at the University of Nevada, Reno, married and have two grown sons. We moved from California to AZ in 1993 and have never looked back. My husband's grandparents were ranchers in AZ for many years. Our boys played a ton of golf going through high school and college. I have been in education administration for 37 years and Steve is in the aviation business.
We have always wanted an escape from the summer heat in the valley and one particularly steamy day I called him from work and said I am taking tomorrow off and we are going to Flag to find a house. This house was the third one we looked at and instantly we knew it was the one.
We have enjoyed wonderful family summers and Christmases in the snow. Our dog really loves the cooler weather and the chance to run free of a leash in the evenings on the golf course.
Steve Shuss purchased this house in 2011
Flagstaff has always been a town that we have loved. Our oldest son graduated from the Northern Arizona University so we had lots of opportunities to be in Flagstaff and enjoy all it has to offer. We wanted serenity yet close in to enjoy amenities. This home addressed it all.
We feel in love with the views, It wowed us when we walked through the door for the first time and continues to be a sincere source of pleasure for us.
The house has a lot of space for our family of 5. The views are incredible and location convenient. Some things might need updating (bedding in master, pots and pans), but we enjoyed our stay bery much.
This home is nicely decorated and so comfortable. 3 big bedrooms and comfy beds with gorgeous views from every window. A very open great room and dining room. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and for being pet friendly at the last minute. Appreciate your flexibility. We've made forever family memories . Will be back for sure.
We booked the home for 4 nights during August. It was perfect for my husband and I, two kids and dog. House was clean and had everything we needed. Right on the golf course which was beautiful! Owner was easy to work with. Great vacation...thank you!
Our arrival was a disaster. We should have been warned. The driveway is dangerous and unacceptable. Scraped the undercarriage of my BMW. Had to park in busy street. Difficulty in loading and unloading, Had to have a tow ($150.00)
Many inconvenient levels and steps
Not air condiioned. Very hot, we left two days early
This property is perfect! The house is gorgeous, nicely decorated, and most importantly, CLEAN! Location is great...amenities are amazing. Owner prepared a book/binder full of local area info. This is so thoughtful and we used it everyday! We have found our new Flagstaff home away from home! THANK YOU!
We stay at VRBOs a lot, and must say this is one of our favorites! Unlike most VRBOs, the owners don't "nickel and dime" for extras, or require that you make a trip to the store to get basic necessities (in fact, they stock all of those, plus unexpected non-necessities, such as paper napkins, BBQ skewers, toothpicks, electric wine opener, a "greeting" bottle of Chardonnay, water bowl for Fido, three different cheese graders, coffee grinder, blender, many pots & pans--a truly well-stocked kitchen for the "foodies" who like to cook at home). Comfy, clean rooms, beautiful deck overlooking golf course, well-supplied bathrooms. The owners were very accommodating when we wanted to fill-in several open days in an otherwise booked month. It required quick turnaround between guests, but it went without a hitch. We like to stay in downtown Flag or a very short distance away, for a restaurant experience or window-shopping, but not too far from trailheads for our two daily hikes. The location of this place, for both, is most excellent. What we thought initially as being a "con" when we booked was the required insurance; but it does take the guesswork out of whether renters will have issues getting all of a security deposit back, since the insurance premium is paid in lieu of a security deposit (we've never been burned by a VRBO owner re. security deposit, but it's nice not to have to think about potential hassles while vacationing). If we ever were to place a rental property on short-term vacation rentals such as with VRBO, we'd likely go with the "no muss, no fuss" insurance route as well. We took a spectacular photo from the back deck over the golf course and pond, complete with sunset. Will send to the owners, and hopefully they will upload it here.
Enjoy watching deer, elk, eagles and other wildlife among the pines as you sit on a large deck overlooking a large pond, golf course, and mountains. Close in location to historic Flagstaff and in the prestigious Continental Country Club area. Very easy access to great restaurants and a easy 2 hour drive to the Grand Canyon. Must sees are Walnut Canyon, Wupatki Sunset Crater Volcano and the Riordon Mansion.
