Imagine yourself back in those three famous days in 1863 when you take in the festivities of our 150th anniversary of the civil war at Gettysburg! You will have fun exploring the area; the adventurous will enjoy touring the 40 miles of battlefield roads (by bicycle, horseback or vehicle), tour a civil war house, talk to the soldiers in encampments and reenactments, or take a haunted ghost tour by night.
At the end of the day you can relax and enjoy your stay at our newly renovated 1st floor accommodation located on historic baltimore street in downtown Gettysburg. There are 2 bedrooms (queen beds), a day bed in the second bedroom and can sleep 5. There is 1 bathroom which consists of a tub/shower combo, a fully fitted eat in kitchen, and a TV/sitting room with cable TV. We provide you with towels, linens, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, iron and board, hair dryer, everything that will make you feel right at home!
You will love the location. We are with-in walking distance to restaurants, museums, the national cemetery where Lincoln gave his address, art galleries, shops, and everything else Gettysburg has to offer. Leave the driving to someone else and hop on the local trolley to see other out of town sites including the new national park service visitor center & museum, and cyclorama. You can take a day trip to surrounding Hershey park (50 miles), Washington dc (60 miles), and lacaster pa dutch country (45 miles).
The apartment is within walking distance to everything downtown.
We enjoyed a long weekend in this historic and cozy row house apartment in the older part of Gettysburg. You can walk to everything from here--shops, restaurants, and the battlefield. The house is on a main thoroughfare, so you do hear busy traffic. Other than that, we would definitely recommend this location.
This is the second time we've stayed here. The owners are very nice, the property is very clean and we love that we can walk to see the sites.
This property was even better than it appeared in pictures. Rod met us when we arrived to show us around and make sure we had all we needed. The charming details of the 1840s home made it a perfect stay for our historic trip. The home was immaculate, updated and perfectly located in the heart of the historic downtown, within walking distance to several restaurants, shops and coffee shops. The spacious back deck, private yard and garage were great amenities. And it was just a short 1-mile drive to the Battle of Gettysburg visitor's center, which was the perfect place to start our day. The only regret is that a snowstorm shortened our stay. Jen and Rod were very helpful from beginning to end, and we can't wait to visit their home again.
We enjoyed our stay . The apartment was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Great beds. A little noise from traffic. Overall experience was very good. Would stay again. Owner very nice and helpful.
We loved the place, it was clean and well equipped. Not having to bring linens was so helpful. The beds were comfy. There is quite a bit of street noise but it did not bother us. It may be a problem with young children. My husband was thrilled to have a garage. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this home to others. It was like being at home very comfortable. It was close to everything just a couple of blocks in either direction and you were in the heart of the town square or at the cemetary and shops.
