We had a fantastic stay. Everything was great and I would return to rent without hesitation.
The House Tender, Napoleon, did a great job. He and his wife were always available. The Garden and House were always kept clean and all guests felt welcome and safe.
We enjoyed this experience and are sure to rent again!
My family and I stayed at this home for 13 days. It is an amazing home and we were sad to leave it.
I had read the previous review done in January with the long list of likes and dislikes of this home done by that reviewer and to be honest, I was a little bit nervous about the stay. The comments mentioned cock roaches, cold swimming pool, no privacy with doors, security system in home, wifi not reliable, and the list goes on. We did not see any bugs inside the home, we asked to have to pool heated and when it was heated, it was comfortable to swim in (but the kids did not really care if the water was hot or cold, they swam regardless) we liked having the security system in the home. The cameras are not in use while there are renters in the home. And we had great wifi service. The only time it went out was when the earthquake hit Ecuador. But it came back on a few hours later. Bottom line, we did not experience any of the negative issues the previous reviewer had of this home.
This home is well taken care of and the gardens are amazing! The pictures do not do justice for this home. We actually held a wedding reception on the grass of the soccer area and the reception turned out beautiful.
The BBQ area is very nice and the table is plenty big to fit a large family. We used the BBQ a few times. It was great!
The gardner and his family who live on site are wonderful! They were always there to help us with anything we needed. They were constantly cleaning the pool and the grounds of the house. They are so nice and courteous. We really enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them. They are a wonderful family!
The owners of this home were easy to get a hold of while making the reservation and were very easy to talk to with any questions we had. Our deposit was returned back to us with in a few days after leaving this home.
All around, we had a great experience with staying at this home. We would definitely stay again.
This place IS what it looks like: a beautiful mansion like house at an amazing price. But if you're thinking to yourself 'this place is too good to be true', well, it does have some flaws, and you should be prepared for those before your stay. This is a long review, but if you are planning a trip, please read my full review with tips & concerns about the Hillside House on their Facebook page or here: https://www.facebook.com/alliepisarro/posts/10153887305104380:0 . Issues aside, we enjoyed our time very much. :)
the property is better than the photographs shown, all the property (including the garden) was clean and well maintained. good wifi, 100% recomended.
Quito- Ecuador has one of South America's most colorful crafts markets that takes place every Saturday in Otavalo, about 70 miles north of Quito. Otavalo weavers are world famous for the beauty of their textiles.
At an altitude of 9.350 feet, Quito is generally considered to be the world's second highest national capital after La Paz, Bolivia. Quito is also South America's oldest capital.
The symbol of Quito is the statue of the winged Virgin of Quito atop El Panecillo ('the bread roll') hill. Especially on a clear day, the views of the city from El Panecillo are spectacular.
At about 16 miles north of Quito is Mitad del Mundo ('middle of the world'), where visitors can straddle a line marking the equator. (Unfortunately the current line is about 328 yards off).
