The place was wonderful and so relaxing
The view is breathtaking
Owner and relatives are wonderful people - even offered us some homemade Apple wine!
Be sure to bring your food b/c the grocery store isnt "down the block"; also the Wifi was a little spotty - but WHO CARES...the point of this place is to unplug and relax
Would definitely come again
The cottage was wonderful for some much needed rest and relaxation. All of the comforts of home are available (its clean, has a full kitchen, comfy bed, entertainment, and landscaping of being right on the lake). The cottage is an easy ten minutes from Niagara Falls and an hour and a half from Toronto with traffic (but you can see the city of Toronto across the lake). We loved it so much, it was very hard to leave the cottage to go sight seeing. The cottage it's self is an event! My favorite part was sitting in the day room, opening the windows and enjoying the warm summer breeze and view of the Lake. If you need to get away from it all, and restore and renew, this is the right place to accomplish that. I would not recommend this cottage for young children, however its perfect for a small family with children over age ten or a couple. Enjoy!
As others have written, this cosy cottage is superb. It's location is perfect -right beside the lake with amazing views of the sunset especially from the swing chair. My teens loved having the use of the kayaks and making smores on the bonfire. The house has everything you could need ( bar a washing machine). The beds, bathroom and dining facilities are very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed a week of family time playing games, swimming and boating. The nearby farm shop and Ray's tavern were very welcoming and provided great food.Anne was fabulous to deal with , answering my many emails promptly.
Thanks so much Anne for a most special holiday.
It is hard to put into words the experience we had in this dream cottage on Lake Ontario. I am from Minnesota, "land of 10,000 lakes," plus Lake Superior and I have stayed in many a resort and cabin and this was the best!
First, the outoors has impeccable gardens, two patios, hand painted rock pathways, a double swing high above the shoreline. We kayaked--everything provided in excellent condition. Watching sunsets was a priceless moment each and every night.
Inside, there was everything one could want with charming and comfortable touches like comfy beds, plush towels, sweet furniture, art and decorations (Plus air-conditioning) and everything in the kitchen you could ever need. Farmer's market right across the road. We got the freshest corn, berries and other veggie items from there. There's an outdoor gas grill on your side patio, a bonfire on the shore.
We came for the location, for a creative project and relaxing getaway. One person from Buffalo and one from Minneapolis. This is so close to Buffalo but feels so far away.
The beauty of the cottage was a surprise and put this week over-the-top .
As another review noted the lake location is exceptionally private and varied from calm to the sound of waves against the rocks. I could sit in the Adirondack chairs on the shore forever, just watching the lake. Total Serenity. The owner is a gracious hostess and was wonderful to meet.
We are telling other family members in Minneapolis and Buffalo area that they must come and experience this for themselves. Thank you to Anne, the owner, for all her hard work and the obvious love and care she has poured into every detail. We will be back!
Absolutely love this cute cottage! Very nicely furnished, right on the lake. Very clean. Perfect view, Toronto looks so close, fantastic at night can see the lights of Toronto and all up and down the lake. Close to all attractions, Niagara Falls, Old Fort Niagara. Store in town is convenient and has great food. Would stay here again, and again, and again. HIGHLY recommended this! Made reservation for next year already!
Our six night stay of the Cozy Cottage was perfect. Private, quiet, comfortable and stocked with little extras. Loved the views and the fire pit.... plenty of games and CD's to keep you occupied.... Bedding was very nice. Had a hard time leaving the cottage to do sight seeing. Canoe, kayaks, life jackets, etc. at your fingertips. A+ EXPERIENCE.
Niagara Falls, USA and Canada are just 20 minutes away. The cottage is just 5 minutes from historic Fort Niagara and 10 minutes from historic Lewiston, Artpark, and Jet Boat tours. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada is just 25 minutes away. Erie Barge Canal and Locks are 25 minutes away. Winery Tours are plentiful both in the US and Canada!
