Why Scott Nichols chose Carbondale
I chose this property due to the beauty of the area and liked the idea of having a cabin escape from Aspen!
What makes this Cabin unique
It is the most relaxing environment I have been able to find in in all my travels! You have the ability to go for a strenouous ski, hike, bike etc. in one moment and then come back to the cabin and relax and read a book in front of the fire the next!

Great mountain cabin with incredible views and easy access to town. Thanks Scott!
Spectacular view and much needed peace and quiet!
My teenage kids and I had a great time for our first visit to CO. Marble is a beautiful area to explore and kick back. Many great hikes in the area and we especially enjoyed the hike to Crystal Mill right from the bottom of the hill. Not much ATV traffic on our weekday hike: We stayed from 7/6-7/13 ...the weather was perfect and the cabin was delightful, with everything you need. My favorite part was relaxing on the deck after hiking and sight seeing to Crested Butte, Telluride,Ouray, and Maroon Bells and Crater Lake. If you love the outdoors and serenity...this is the place for you!
I will be back.
Thank you Scott for an amazing vacation!
Fantastic Stay amongst golden aspens
My wife and I shared this cabin with another couple for a leaf peeping trip to the Marble area in mid-September. The cabin is the perfect size, we loved the over sized extra comfy couches, it was easy to warm with the fantastic wood burning stove, views are of course breathtaking, and we really enjoyed the cabins sound system for local radio. The Marble area has so much to do and offer you could spend months seeing it all (crystal mill, maroon bells, slow groovin, beaver lake). If you’re into fishing we would recommend booking a fly fishing charter through the cabin owner, we booked a trip and caught trout all day along the Roaring Fork outside Carbondale.
The cabin is the perfect size for 1-2 couples or a family of 3-6.
Chas and friends are the perfect guest for what our cabin offers and they’re welcome back anytime!
We loved it!
If you are into quite and beautiful this place is certainly paradise. Lovely accommodations, off the grid with no cell service so you can't be bothered, it is a true vacation. Took us a few days to get used to the altitude, as we were coming from sea level but the view off the deck more then enough to enjoy until we were ready to hike.
We were happy to have Kelli and her husband at the cabin for their honeymoon and they seemed to appreciate all that it can offer with the hiking, fishing and just relaxing on the deck taking in the view!
We hope they return in the future!
Breathtaking views, lots of things to do in the area-trails, hiking, atvs, canoe at the lake, lighting fires to keep warm- its fun romantic and all that jazz, rustic classy cabin, no connection to the outside world was a great relief... no one can bother you!!! Great owner, took care of everything! Super nice and will answer any questions. Looked at all kinds of cabins and this one has a great vibe and is worth it!!! Nobody steal my moose figure i left there as memorabilia!!!!! I will be back...
My husband and I are from Asheville, NC and were visiting family in Aspen for a few days. We decided at the last minute to try to find a cabin to get away from it all. Scott's place was the perfect setting. We loved every bit of it and were lucky enough to be in the midst of a brilliant fall weekend with the Aspen trees in full glory. The cabin is just delightful and though we all say it too much, "pictures don't do it justice" it was true here - it's better in reality. The kitchen is tiny but well stocked with cookware. Take note when he mentions it's "off grid" and don't be expecting to be able to get on your cell phone or on the internet. THAT was exactly what we were looking for and it was heaven. The beds were comfortable, the couches amazing and there are no words to describe the star gazing. The overview description on VRBO is exactly what you will find, so read through it first. If you want to ditch the outside world for awhile, this is the place!
We have two canoes on Beaver Lake and plenty of hiking, biking, fishing 4WD and fabulous scenery
