Good price, Good Stay, Weak WiFi, Needs a Bit of Attention
My family of 5, including Grandma, stayed here for a week. Overall we had our needs met. The location is good, in a quiet, safe feeling neighborhood, close to the Metro and the grocery store. Often the adults would walk home from town while the others took the Metro. The apt had dish soap, laundry pods, salt, pepper etc., which was appreciated. The WiFi was very weak when it was working. I emailed the owner about this and he never responded. Therefore I never told him about the rest of the items as they weren’t too bothersome. The hot water under the kitchen sink works, but must be turned on and off from below the sink because it leaks. The only frying pan is rusty. The radiators work nicely and dry clothes quickly. The shower head needs a good soak in vinegar followed by a scrubbing. We found it easiest to hold it over our heads versus standing under. Other visitors would benefit from a house manual (quirks of how to get the WiFi to work), best options on the washer, maybe even best restaurants. The Metro is not Free for kid over 6, but we could buy reduced tickets for them and Grandma at certain Metros in town. Mary’s nearby had fantastic coffee and treats. There was an amazing restaurant around the corner too. For a place that advertises that it sleeps 6, a second set of keys would be appreciated. The view of the Parthenon from the roof is lovely in the day and night. Overall, the price was good and the location was convenient enough.
4.5 out of 5
Excellent location with metro station nearby. The apartment is clean and spacious and cozy. The people in the same building were very friendly and helpful. Though there was a small problem ( the owner did not register my reservation on his book so he completely forgot about me) when I arrived but I still strongly recommend anyone to stay at this apartment.
Nice location. Lively night life. Close to restaurants and bars but on a quiet street. About a 2 minute walk to the meto and a quick ride to sites.
Apartment was clean and the people were friendly.
Location, location, location = great value.
Excellent location. We never took the train once - could walk everywhere. Places to eat, site seeing, supermarket are all in nice walking distance. The facility is new & comfortable for 4, easily for 6. We did take the train to the airport which was very inexpensive, convenient & the kids were free. One warning - the facility was hard to fine because it was on a very private street. But that made it quiet and safe.
My comments to a great extent mirror those written by others. Great location, nice apartment, good communication, good places to eat close by. We had no trouble finding the supermarket on Mapquest. Close Metro stop was a definite plus, as was the washing machine. I don' t think you can beat it for value.
Absolutely charming and quiet area to stay in when visiting Athens!
We had an absolutely perfect stay in Athens! The apt. was in a wonderful and quiet neighborhood in the Gazi district. It had everything we needed and slept six comfortably. During our stay, we met and got to know some of the loveliest people, who have become like family. Athens is a very walkable city. We were not far from the Acroplis and the train station. Getting around was so easy. Thank you for making our first trip as a family so memorable. We will be back to stay with you.
Best regards. The Choyces
