Si Como No Ranch has 4000 acres of sweeping Hill Country views, three large lakes and six miles of picturesque Miller Creek, all just fifty miles from Austin, Texas.
Splash in a 200 foot long rock lined swimming hole next to 150 million year old dinosaur footprints and 30 million year old fossils. Lounge beneath a 400 year old live oak tree or simply gaze at the scores of buffalo, wildebeests, elk, and other exotic animals that roam this beautiful hill country ranch. Grill on the back porch, or trek to nearby Lone Man Mountain, where you can enjoy 360 degree Hill Country views.
If you’d like a more active schedule, you can play ping pong, darts, a short game of disc golf, horseshoes, washers, volley ball or play tennis on our old single court. Hit golf balls at the golf driving range or practice putting on our putting green. We even have a professional grade obstacle course to test your strength and ability. Or maybe just watch the activity on our over sized swing set. All of these activities are within easy walking distance of the lodge.
For the even more adventurous you can mountain bike the miles of ranch roads, catch and release fishing at our stocked fishing lake, paddle boarding, canoeing and swimming at our two large lakes. There is an extensive paintball course available and a 50 yard shooting range with basic skeet throwers.
If you want to experience what it feels like to own a historic Texas ranch – and play at the same card tables where President Lyndon Johnson reportedly once held court or stand where Texas Rangers fought one last great battle with the Comanche – the Si Como No ranch is the right destination. You won’t find a better place to “get away from it all,” even if you never leave the porch. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by Ranch Manager Paul Diehl, whose passion is to treat visitors to some good 'ole Texan hospitality and share tales about the ranch’s history. You’ll trade formality for an authentic ranch experience, as you are swept back in time by the Main Lodge, which sleeps up to twenty in two bedrooms and two bunk rooms.
For guests wishing to partake in additional activities, wildlife tours, fishing, paddle boarding, paint ball, shooting range and other sporting activities you must notify prior to visit and some activities require additional costs.
We have hosted several groups including Church Retreats, Private School Gatherings, Weddings, Family Reunions and Youth Groups.
The Ranch would be an awesome location for any Celebration or gathering!
Catering also is available on request.
We spent our family Thanksgiving vacation out at the ranch. There were 6 adults and 6 children. Everyone had an incredible time. There is so much to do. What a great place to get the kids out of the city! We all enjoyed spending time out on the 4,000 acres seeing all the incredible native and exotic wildlife. Everyone also enjoyed catching lots of bass and perch out on the many beautiful lakes on the ranch. This is a very unique Texas Hill Country property. The lodge was great and really clean. It had plenty of room for our group of 12. We really liked having the long kitchen counter to layout our big Thanksgiving dinner spread. It also was a huge plus to have someone like Paul the Ranch Manager welcoming us and showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Thanks for all your help Paul!
This year I was in charge of planning my work retreat and found this gorgeous property. And boy am I glad I did! All of my co workers loved it and enjoyed themselves. Paul was a tremendous help. I came out to see the property and discovered this amazing beach setup on one of the lakes and talked about bringing an adult slip and slide. Paul actually went out of his way to create the slip and slide himself and it was the perfect afternoon activity! We were able to see a good amount of wild life on the property too. It was just gorgeous! There was plenty of room for 22 people and we used the extra cabin for more sleeping space. There's several activities on the property that you can do including tennis, swimming, golfing, paintball and an obstacle course, plus fishing, kayaking and hiking. I definitely would come back, and recommend this ranch to everyone. Si Como No has a special place in my heart and I can't wait to go back.
Every year our family comes together for my birthday. We have gone to many ranches and resorts over the years. This year was absolutely the best ever! Paul went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and more. The cleanliness of the lodge was beyond compare with other places we have stayed, it was spotless!!! We had twenty plus and plenty of room. There is so much to see and do on this ranch. I believe we could have stayed a week and not done everything. Our kids and grandchildren loved seeing all of the variety of animals and the swimming area was fantastic. Paul made sure the swimming area was just as clean as the house, not an easy chore, I'm sure.
Great time, Great place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this ranch not just for the ranch but for the service and care of the staff.
Thanks Si Como No!
Si Como No is a beautiful property full of fun and exciting things to do. We stayed here in late January for a small reunion with friends and had a great time. Paul, our host, was incredibly conscientious and helpful and went the extra mile to provide activities for us and to respond if and when we needed anything. He also gives an excellent tour and historical overview of the ranch. The location is excellent - only ~ 1 hour from downtown Austin. The bunkhouse is very comfortable and was perfect for the 12 people in our party. The ranch has a number of great activities including paintball (try the Alamo), fishing, a very impressive obstacle course, skeet shooting, etc. Also, there are a number of exotic species on the ranch, which are well worth driving around on the ranch to spot on their own. Highly recommended!
The Ranch is amazing! The lodge has plenty of room. A large family area with a television/DVD player and multiple seating for movie watching, an extra couch for just sitting and reading, and a card table for whatever you choose. The kitchen area is open to the family area, and has a very large table for meals. We used the card/game table for meals as well. The furniture is very authentic 50th style, and it has been updated in a very charming way. (It seems like some of the furnishings are really from the 50's but they do not seem like they have been used at all, yet other things like cabinets, or the cute blue formica in the kitchen are a dead giveaway-full of character.) The bunk rooms, also attached, are amazing. My favorite. It allowed for us to sleep all the girls in one room and boys in the other. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were nice. Each has it's own full bathroom with shower. The bathrooms are nice and the place was really clean. There is a game room with another 2 very large dining tables, but we never even used that space. It has a full bathroom and a ping pong table. We did enjoy the back patio and firepit. We stayed out there for hours. The lighting is beautiful at night, and it made for great family discussion. There is Wifi and a code provided, but I wish we never discovered it. Once out on the enormous property, there is very spotty service, again a nice touch when traveling with teenagers. This place is amazing for large extended families with lots of kids/teenagers. The obstacle course is super fun, and really tough. The paintball (or bring your own airsoft) is crazy! There are trenches and towers and all kinds of great places to hide. The driving/archery range is very close by. You can walk to the swimming hole and see the dinosaur tracks and dig for fossils (I could have done that all day). The kids also enjoyed the tennis court right outside the lodge. Once in your car, you pass into the wildlife area, and it is worth a drive early in the morning with coffee in hand, We saw wild turkeys, wildebeest, bison, all kinds of birds, llamas, donkeys, horses. Paul, the amazing Ranch Hand, gave us tours, told us historic stories, and was extremely accommodating! The kitchen is not brand new, but we were able to cook all weekend for everyone. The grill outside was great too! The pictures do not give the lodge a true account of it's charm, nice furnishings, and cleanliness. It doesn't disappoint.
When my daughter tried to find a place suitable for a 50th Anniversary Celebration, she happened upon, Si Como No Ranch. What a find! Our family of 15 ranges in age from 13 to 70+, and we all had a blast. From the obstacle course (not me) to the three beautiful lakes; from the Wildebeests to the elk and buffalo; to the comfortable ranch house to the excellent staff (our man Paul) everything met or exceeded our expectations. The last of our family arrived late Friday night, and we all left around noon on Sunday. We really needed one more day. Every time we went into the wild animal section we saw different animals. It was such fun to watch an exotic sheep herd moving and jumping together. Bass fishing was fun for the grandkids although nothing was caught to exaggerate about. There’s a “swimmin’ hole”, but it was too early in the season to enjoy. The bluebonnets made up for the chilly mornings. Paul, our guide and ranch manager extraordinaire, took us on a wonderful tour of parts of the 3800 acre ranch. His tales of the history of the ranch kept our attention. We were fascinated by the original owners, their connection to our history (LBJ), and subsequent owners, all with fascinating biographies. We learned of the early settlers and of the last Comanche battle fought by Texas Rangers. Paul couldn’t have been nicer. He managed to take care of all our requests. We like to cook, and there is a full kitchen. We prepared all our meals, but I understand there are many places around if you don’t wish to cook. Pizza can be delivered too. There are two full bedrooms. The other huge bedrooms are bunk bed style. We had no problems. The boys bunked in one room and the girls in the other. Two lucky couples including us had our own bedroom. There was plenty of everything --- hot water --- towels, bathrooms, etc. My son-in-law said he could feel how relaxed everyone was when they reached the ranch. In the hectic life-style in which most of us live, Si Como No Ranch, is a perfect escape. Finish the huge puzzle, throw horseshoes, play tennis, or grill smores like we did. I never saw a prettier sunset or more stars.
Si Como No Ranch is in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country! You can visit the numerous Hill Country Wineries, Antique Shops, Historical spots, museums and wonderful country drives. Most people that visit us never want to leave the ranch. There are plenty of activities to enjoy right here.
