Cottage #41 in Steinhatchee Landing Resort

NEW SCALLOP SEASON DATES FOR 2017!!

The 2017 bay scallop season for Dixie County and parts of Taylor County will be open from June 16 through Sept. 10. This includes all state waters from the Suwannee River through the Fenholloway River. These changes are for 2017 only and are an opportunity to explore regionally-specific bay scallop seasons.

The Redfish Lodge is a unique one of a kind cottage in Steinhatchee Landing Resort. This two bedroom, two bath home is owned and decorated by an artist/interior designer who has truly made this home unlike any other you will find. The originality is unmatched.

You will enter the cottage via the screened-in front porch and into the living area. The kitchen dining area and master bedroom and bath are on the first level. The master bedroom has a queen size four poster bed. The stairs will take you up to the second bedroom and bath. The antique spindle bed is a full size, as well as an additional single bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is a full bath adjoining the bedroom.

The screened in front porch is the most relaxing place to sit and watch the fishermen come in with their catch of the day.

The resort provides many amenities: a new pool, Jacuzzi, work-out area, tennis court and basketball court as well as a small petting zoo with goats, chickens and ducks.

If you have a boat, the docks are just a short walk from the cottage. There are approxinately 22 boat slips available on a first-come, first-served basis. The resort offers plenty of space to park your trailer. There are also several marinas nearby if you want to rent a boat or charter a captain if you choose.

Whatever your reason for coming to Steinhatchee: fishing, scalloping, or just some 'good ole relaxation,' the Redfish Lodge will be an ideal place for your vacation.

(The Redfish Lodge is cottage #41 in the resort)

Guestbook comments from the manager

The Redfish Lodge is magical! A perfect place to read, walk, watch and enjoy the best life offers. We shared a couple of days here with dear friends. The home itself is full of delightful surprises. Each one evokes a smile....love the butterfly on the bathroom wall. We leave with the hopes of returning to Steinhatchee and its Redfish Lodge.

Charming getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We love scalloping, but I found myself just as enchanted with the Redfish Lodge and all of Steinhatchee Landing! The lodge is oozing character and was perfect for us and our two boys. My youngest loved walking the property with me and spending time at the gazebo on the creek, the koi pond, and feeding carrots to the goats at the petting zoo. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and Trish was wonderful to work with scheduling our stay. Will definitely be back!

This place was amazing. Our kids enjoyed the house as much as us. So much charm & character!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in we could stop "oh-ing" and "ah-ing" at all the unique decor. The kitchen was my personal favorite and being a family of five, I spent a good bit of time in there. The house was comfortable and we all had plenty of room. The porch was definitely my boyfriends favorite! We could enjoy evening cocktails, while watch the sunset on the river - it was very romantic and relaxing. The Steinhatchee Landings in general had so much to offer - a petting zoo (the kids loved this!), the nice docks and boat slips, fish cleaning stations, gazebos, walking paths, the pool, a gym, a beautiful church with a koi pond. There was not a dull minute in our four day stay here. We love it and CANNOT WAIT to come back!

It was exactly what we were lookin for!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a dream in the middle of nowhere. The home is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. We were right next to the pool, sauna, spa, ping pong (you need to bring your own paddles) shuffle board, kids playground and the river. There are several places less than a mile away to rent boats of all sizes from. We went kayaking for 7 miles in the river and fished everyday! If you love to hunt and fish like we do, Steinhatchee is the place to be. Fiddlers Restaurant was so good! We also had Hungry Howies on the water, they have cheese steak pizza! We definitely want to buy a home here one day.

Stepping into a whimsical Art & History filled Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

The owners have left no detail untouched, from all the different painted fish going up the steps on stairs, to the turtle tiles in the kitchen floor, you just must go see each little detail for yourself and marvel at the love and decoration. Also a beautiful little story about the Redfish lodge that if it were printed i would so buy, the history and fun facts of learning about the place was like getting lost in time....there were lots of other books that led us to steinhatchee falls, the road to nowhere and big bend water management preserve. There was nothing like exploring this whole little town and the country around it. Everyone is so extremely friendly up here as well. The resort itself is something to see, all the beautiful cottages and homes, to the chapel, koi pond, swimming pool, play area for the kids and the petting zoo. You definitely can relax and feel away from all the troubles in the world here. You could feel all the love of history and art, President Teddy Roosevelt stayed at this cabin in 1905, the Beautiful painting by Winslow Homer about the fireplace. This is one of the few places I have ever stayed that i could picture myself vacationing at again because it was simply that magical and beautiful, why there are many other places to rent at the Landing none hold the charm, beauty, peacefulness, art and history this place offers. Maddie's Market is the closet gas station/grocery store, otherwise travel into Cross City...While up here if you love nature, check out Fanning and Hart Springs...pass on Otter Springs and Horseshoe beach (however if you end up out on Horseshoe beach find the pirate ship property that was pretty cool and it's for sale.) To the owners thank you for giving my Autistic Daughter the vacation of a lifetime, I can't express how much she loved it as she kept saying on the way home she wanted to go back to the cabin house and keeps asking to see pictures of it! My friend and her daughter had a wonderful time as well! We will most definitely book a vacation with you again!
