“in downtown Montreal, there exists a territory covering slightly more than a square kilometer where the cultural activity is particularly concentrated: 28 venues and 80 sites of artistic diffusion together weave, season after season, the rich hours of Montreal's cultural life. This is the quartier des spectacles, the official name given recently to a quadrilateral where culture unfolds on an effervescent world.”

I enjoy traveling. My favorite destination so far would have to be the south of Peru. We went with the two kids (10 and 12 years) for three weeks. We were on Machu Picchu on the day of its 100th year anniversary (of being rediscovered). WHAT A SITE!!!
Photography is a passion of mine. Live actions shots of kids and sports are my favorite. I almost sleep with my camera. (My girlfriend got used to this love affair. lol)
I enjoy movies, reading and have an insatiable quest for knowledge.
I really take the pleasure in knowing how people live in other parts of the world and am always surprised and pleased at the differences and similarities.
I can't wait to hear from you.
Stef purchased this condo in 2013
This is a great place for anything in and around Montreal. You are in the heart of all the festivals. (Jazz, Just for Laughs...). You have music and plays theatres nearby. Nightlife. A hop-skip-and-a-jump away to any attractions.
Beautiful old Montreal
St-Laurent street (these two streets are the main streets of the city)
Stef was great to deal with- he was helpful, and available, but not intrusive.
The apartment was a cute little modern style one bedroom with all the basics
we needed for a week. There was a gym downstairs we took advantage of each day. Even though we got our good workouts, and walked all over most days, there is so much good food here, I'm not sure we came out ahead. In a walking distance, we had amazing crepes at Juliet and Chocolate, authentic Dim Sum in Chinatown, Indian, Vietnamese, and yes we did try the smoked meat sandwich (reminiscent of a hot pastrami from NYC), the poutine (fries with gravy and cheese curds- better than it sounds) and the bagels (sweeter than others. Even tried a maple bacon one!) as per Stef's suggestion. It was fun to try the Montreal staples along with the international foods.
There were two HUGE festivals while we were there- one a couple blocks to our right and one a couple to our left. Food trucks, entertainment, and family friendly activities abounded. We were there for the Circus Arts festival, so there was a lot going on all the time and our 9 year old had fun trying out trampoline, tightrope, hula hoop and trapeze!
Chinatown was a few blocks away and I could have gone every day!
We took scooters out from Dyadcycles.com and Dave gave us a great tour including the Jean Talon Market- You should definitely go to this market as one of the first things you do- every kind of cheese, meat, vegetable and fruit you can imagine!
Then of course, there is downtown which has a small NYC vibe and tons of shopping.
We did most of what we wanted in Montreal and there was still lots more we could have done.
I highly recommend Stef's place for the location, convenience, parking (we only took the car out once), gym, modern furnishings, comfort and price.
This condo was well-equipped, conveniently located, and very clean. It felt quite home-like and the owner was very helpful and responsive. We recommend this to any out-of-towners who want to have a good, quiet, comfortable, home base. We would definitely consider booking this condo again the next time we visit Montreal.
Everything we expected. Enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next stay. Bedding and bed very comfortable. Air conditioning was excellent. Washer and dryer, and kitchen very nice. Parking was very secure and no problem leaving bikes locked on vehicle. We either walked or biked as location was so central.
Very nice condo with modern amenities, clean and true to the photos. The location is perfect, near the Metro and near a bunch of great restaurants on Rue St. Denis. Overall a great stay, no complaints whatsoever. To go into more detail would just be copying and pasting all the other great reviews! If and when we return to Montreal, this place will be our first choice.
This is possibly the most finely appointed and completely furnished one-bedroom apartment my wife and I have stayed in with Homeaway out of about a dozen apartments we have rented over the past 10 years with Homeway and other agencies. Everything one could want is here.
The location of the apartment one block of Rue Saint Catherine and just east of Saint Laurent is very central. You can walk or take the Metro anywhere.
The owners and his father did an excellent job of preparing the apartment and showing us how to use it. This was my first experience with the iPhone key app and it was fun to learn how to use and I used it extensively (while carrying the old fashioned key for pscyhological security).
This is a "keeper."
I had a great experience renting the Stephane's place for a couple of days.
The place had everything my parents and I needed for enjoying Montreal. Its well located, well decorated besides the basics (wifi, good kitchen, etc)
They had a parking place which is a great plus.
