We had an excellent experience at 328 Dnorkel Way. The owner was responsive to questions about the property before we arrived. Chrck in was quick. The property was mostly clean before we arrived- not to my personal standards. It was exactly as described. A block from the beach was convenient. The home was lacking in towels. Some were provided, but not enough. No kitchen towels for dishes. Otherwise no complaints. Central air worked great, little front porch and back yard. Convenient to activities. We would definitely stay here again.
Property was very clean and well kept. Looked as described in the photos. Would not hesitate to stay here again next time I visit Myrtle Beach.
The cottage is as described on the site. Very nice, quiet area, located only a few minutes from the beach. The pool is nice, and it was great to have access to the beach chairs, toys, etc. in the storage unit. We enjoyed having a grill out back. It's also really nice to have a washer and dryer, but know that it only works on "tap cold" and not on the Hot setting (we thought it was broken at first). Overall we had a really nice trip.
The townhouse was prefect for our needs, very clean, roomy, comfortable, plenty of closet space and close to the beach.
With that said, I have one major recommendation...DON'T book through Home Away, perhaps use the website to find a place but then book through the realty company that manages the property for the owner. We had nothing but miscommunication and problems by booking through HomeAway.
We were told we'd be allowed to check in at 11am, arrived at noon and key code didn't work, called realtor who was unaware they had granted early check in (even though the owner had forwarded that email to me so yes, they knew). We never did get the key for the storage unit because it was three days later that she told me the realtor had a spare, by then we only had a day left and I had paid $120 for chair rentals at the beach (other than that she was very good about emails).
Before arriving we added a night to our stay, despite the owner emailing the realtor they never added this night onto our stay. When I called during our stay to confirm the key code would not be changed and lock us out I was told they did not show the condo was booked the extra night. So after getting a code that would take us through the extra night we still had people showing up early to clean and change the linens, they were never told that we were staying the extra night.
Parking is a problem if you have more than one vehicle, I was told "No worries there are two spaces" but this is not true, there's ONE assigned spaceX and a guest spot that is not necessarily yours. We had horrid neighbors three condos down who initially refused to move their car out of our assigned spot, even with the HOA manager telling him to move it was an ordeal.
Like I said, condo itself was ideal, clean and well taken care of. When the A/C stopped working the realtor had a guy from Atlantic Heating and Cooling out within 90 minutes.
Make sure you take extra toilet paper, you only get one roll per bathroom. There are no paper towels, no dishwasher soap, only one garbage bag per can and that's all you're given but there IS laundry detergent, which seemed odd. Would have rather had TP since I brought detergent!
The property met our expectations, as described. The unit was quite comfortable and only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. The area was quiet, but there were some early mornings, with house construction right behind the unit. The property was clean and the property manager was friendly and very helpful.
I would recommend the property as a good place to stay, near the beach.
A friend of mine and I decided on Myrtle Beach for our vacation. Neither one of us had ever been and we weren't sure where to stay, but we were thrilled with this place. The description was great and completely on point. The bedrooms were bigger than expected and the house as a whole was extremely comfortable. The property was clean and well maintained, and I would definitely stay here again. The location was great, nothing was far away!
My only suggestion would be to leave instruction for renters on how to gain access to the pool.
This property is 2 blocks to the beach and short driving distances to many attractions: less than 5 miles to Myrtle Beach boardwalk, Ripley's Aquarium and 3D moving theatre, Stone Theatres, Legends in concert, Myrtle Beach state park, Grand Strand, MagiQuest, Cancunn Lagoon, family kingdom amusement park, Wonder Works, jungle Lagoon, and shop malls. Radical Ropes Adventure Park is right behind the subdivision
