I always enjoy my time at Amelia ..it is restful and rejuvenating for everyone that comes.
I enjoy and appreciate the beauty and solace that we find here.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2004
I decided to go away from the crowd...to a quieter place...there is so much beauty here. Amelia Island Plantation offers a special beach location plus wonderful amenities.
The amenities for an active person are numerous with the heavily shaded bike paths, jogging on the beach, walking the dog, tennis and great choices for golf. Of course, it also such a mellow place with its magnificent Oaks with Spanish Moss and serenic nature walks. Also, you have to love the fantastic restaurant choices.
This is a very spacious and comfortable condo with a stunning view of the pool and ocean from the living area and balcony.
The beautiful beach is a short walk from the pool area and we loved biking around the plantation particularly on the gulf side. The streets throughout the plantation are quiet and shaded by live oaks and the numerous bike trails are well-maintained and beautiful. Food options and food areas at the Omni hotel are varied and good and we enjoyed some excellent cocktails and meals and then walked home along the beach.
We will return!!
My wife and I (and 2 pups) had a great time at the condo. The views were spectacular, and Amelia Island offers so many fun things to do and great places to eat. The new mattresses made for a restful night's sleep every night. We love the Omni Plantation, and this condo was located right in the middle of the resort. The convenience to the Shipwatch pool was great as well. Thank you again for your hospitality. We would definitely like to come back for a future stay!
We arrived from Atlanta about 5pm on Saturday and found the rental agency with no problems. Check in was very quick and easy. Access to the resort itself is restricted by a guard gate, that makes it pretty secure and there was never a delay getting by the guard. It is especially nice that they use an electronic lock on the condo door instead of keys or key cards. The condo is on the 6th floor and the elevator is set up to serve multiple floors per stop. That means you will have to go up or down some stairs to get to the condo. Not a problem for us but you should know. The condo is well laid out with a great view from the living areas and the balcony. The building, grounds and pool are nice and immaculately maintained, as you would expect from this type of resort.
We had a dog with us (5 pounds) so the dog friendly beach was very nice. EVERYONE picked up after their pets and bags are supplied at the end of the boardwalk where you accessed the beach. We took a canopy, set it up and left it overnight (frame only), no one bothered it. Many people left chairs, etc near the beach and they went undisturbed.
The condo itself while nice needs a few updates. There is carpet in the living room and dining room, it would be better to have tile as the carpet is getting a little ragged. The carpet in the bedrooms is OK but not great. The bathrooms and kitchen need updating/upgrading. The low flow showers are not good, there are much better ones made today. All of the fixtures and counter tops are old and need replacing.
One last thing, you have to have an "amenities card" to use the resort amenities. Not a big deal for us as we did not need or want any of them but if you want to hang out at the resort pool you will need to ask about that.
Overall we had a great time and will return.
Our ocean front condo at the Shipwatch was beautiful. What a view! The condo was in good order and well furnished. The pet friendly beach was a real treat for our old dog. Pet owners were responsible about picking up after their pets. The owner and the rental agency were very responsive to our requests. The building did need a luggage carrier to get everything from the car to the condo. Other then that we had a great time and would recomned this unit to a friend or relative
