We had so much fun that we cannot wait to come back! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful cabin with our family....my girls miss the hikes, the horses, the views....and yes, the bear!
My family and I have been to Milima ranch a few times and it is magical. We have been blessed to travel as a family to many beautiful places like Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico, but Milima is our favorite. The setting, view, hiking, fresh spring water and surrounding attractions put this mountain paradise in a league all of it's own. If you love the outdoors or if you have never been able to connect with the outdoors, this place is for you. It is nothing short of a spiritual experience as it seems to transform you to appreciate how blessed you are to experience such beauty this side of Heaven's gate. I know my family carry little piece of this place in their hearts and when things get challenging in our daily lives, we all go to Milima in our mind as our happy place to comfort our soul.

This was our second stay at Moonshine Cabin. On this trip we brought our whole family...six adults and 2 children...and had a wonderful, memorable vacation together! The log home is exactly as described, the views are outstanding, and the owner is a great communicator and very attentive to any needs or requests. Georgina works constantly around the ranch, keeps everything in immaculate condition, and is a joy to work with. The home has all the finest appointments yet has a cozy, homecoming feel. The beds are fabulous. This property is on the top of our list of favorite places to stay in western NC!
I stayed at this property last year. I have an upcoming week at this property beginning 13 Oct. 2012. I have failed to write a review mainly because I am selfish and wanted to keep this property out of the media as much as possible, I'm sure not the sentiments of the owner. This property presents itself as secluded, affordable, and beautiful, with all the ammenties. The owner Georgina has all the charm and knowledge it takes to make the moments there even more rewarding. The best location in the North Carolina mountains
Our retreat to Moonshine cabin was a delight for our senses! The sight of this majestic ranch with its unparalleled mountain/valley views, the sound of the babbling brook and the birds and creatures of nature, the touch of the smooth natural stone counters and the hewn wood beams of the great room and natural porch rails, the smell of the clean crisp morning air along with the plants and trees surrounding this luxurious cabin truly made this a perfect place to rest and reinvigorate from our very busy lives!
The little details such as the handmade soaps, the fresh wildflowers in the house and on the porch, the hummingbird feeder to attract the hummingbirds, the candles found in the wooden holders on the dining table and outdoor seating area, the small wooden cross hanging on a rail of the master bedroom porch, the picnic area set up over the brook, the selection of novels and books that enticed us to curl up in front of the fireplace, or on the rocker on the porch to read, The staff who greated us, and were on the ranch during our stay were very welcoming and informative, and truly made us feel like we were at “home”…
We will return, God willing so that as a family we can experience this magnificent place again, and I personally so that I can finish the Wayne Caldwell novel I started during this perfect vacation in the beautifully appointed Moonshine Cabin!
We just completed a week up at this home and are happy to report that it lived up to its previous great reviews in every way. We truly enjoyed the home, it's fine amenities, and the surrounding area that holds stunning beauty. From hanging out on the porch listening to the creek run by to cooking in the kitchen with all high-end appliances, this home was our social hub. The kitchen was truly functional. Not just a few pots and pans, but eveything you need to cook a meal (except the food, of course). So many places are really only set up for light meals. The home is great for kids and adults. Awesome for a two family meet-up. And one of the most relaxing places we've stayed. A great escape from the Florida summer heat.
All of our past family vacations have been chalked full of activities and must sees but this vacation we wanted to do absolutely nothing but relax. We struck gold! When we walked in we knew our vacation would be stress free and relaxing in this home. The owner has created a peaceful, gorgeous and comfortable retreat. It is very well thought out and the decor is absolutely beautiful. The screen porch was our family's favorite. The mountain view just leaves you in awe. In fact my son insisted on sleeping on that porch the first night. We ate many of our meals on that porch because you never tire of the view. My family loved the outside trails, creek and fire pit. We brought along our bocci balls and enjoyed many games outside in the beautiful yard. At night, the landscaping is lit and the fire pit just calls for roasting Marshmellows. My husband is quite the chef and found the kitchen a dream, very well equipped, but I think he liked the Bose iPod player best. There is even an outside grill. My favorite, the porch by the creek, a reading and napping nook that is heavenly. Although we were looking for relaxing, Asheville is only 30 min away, and Waynesville only 15. Don't miss the Mast General Store in downtown Waynesville. We also drove up to the Elk in Cherokee national park, less than an hours drive, go in the evening to catch the elk. Not to far from Moonshine, We found a place called Fergasons, a gas station, diner, general store. (You feel like you stepped back in time.) We can't stop bragging about our vacation to our friends and family. This vacation will go down as one of the best vacations for our family. Thanks to Georgina for creating a piece of heaven. We can't wait to come back!
