About Gary Fritz

I am a building contractor from Tallahassee, Florida and have been in business for the past 32 years. I always loved the coast as a child and bought several homes there in the last few decades. I have lived in The Bay Dreams for ten years, but have had to move to town due to the economy.

Gary Fritz purchased this house in 1991

Why Gary Fritz chose Florida Panhandle

I bought this house ten years ago and remodeled it for my wife and I to live in and we did for ten years. We decided to move back to Tallahassee and so I furnished the house to become a rental.

What makes this house unique

I fell in love with this house because of its private setting and abundance of wildlife in the area. The deck on the bay side has beautiful sunsets, and is really good to relax and watch the world go by. I especially like the Goldfish ponds I built in the front yard, full of frogs and Goldfish.

Great place for morning coffee while watching the abundant wildlife

  • 4 of 5

My favorite part of our stay at Alligator Point: Morning coffee in the early light as a band of white squirrels frolic in the trees and pelicans swoop into the bay to catch a few fish. The place comes with binoculars to you can enjoy yourself for hours just watching the wildlife. We happened to spend Thanksgiving at this lovely location. Kitchen is well equipped; everything was is good working order. Did not want for pots/pans or utensils/plates. The kitchen/dining area is the largest part of the house. As this is where everyone gathers, it was perfect. With a "great room" feel, the kitchen, dining table and comfortable sofas are all in close proximity so everyone can be together. The stand-alone bedroom is very nice for the person who would prefer a bit of solitude, as it is a completely separate structure. One tip for your arrival: Alligator Point is dark at night. No streetlights, very few businesses along the road. Try to arrive before nightfall. This will make it easier to read the numbers on the mailbox. We would stay here again. Not fancy, but very comfortable with everything you need. Public beach access is a 10 minute ride and the beach is beautiful with lots of seashells. We saw lots of Monarch butterflies at Bald Point State Park, an access point is less than 5 minutes away by car.

Beautiful view of the back of the bay

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying in a home with no stairs! Great backyard view and seating area. Lots of things you need in a kitchen but don't want to carry with you. Screened in cleaning station. Extra bedroom outside the home. Lots of space in the yard. Enjoyed my stay, just wish it was longer.

Charming roomy cottage on the Bay

  • 5 of 5

We went in with somewhat low expectations given how reasonable the rental rate was and were so very pleasantly surprised. The house was nice and open, the kitchen large and open, well stocked and command central . The water view was so very pretty with awesome sunsets and could be seen from the kitchen and the large sunporch and also from the master bedroom. There was a nice deck out the back with comfortable patio furniture. Not screened but the sun porch has almost the same view, so if the mosquitoes are bad you can still sit inside and enjoy the view. The house sits back from the water about 30 yards and the entire yard is fenced in. Great for our dog! The beds were comfortable, the master suite nicely set off from the rest of the small house. We didn't use the 3rd bedroom that is located in a small building in the backyard, but is looked very nice. There is also a screened in room next to the house to the side that has a sink set up for cleaning fish.

The house was very clean, tile floors, good appliances and nicely laid out. Lots of durable comfortable, leather furniture for seating and a nice TV. We will be back!

Totally relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful mini vacation at Bay Dreams! The house is perfect, plenty of room and beautifully appointed. The deck was our favorite place to chill out- we enjoyed having our coffee out there in the morning and a cocktail in the evening when we returned from exploring the area.

There is so much to see in this beautiful area that we couldn't get to it all in the 3 days we were there and plan to return later this year, if possible.

Very comfortable and roomy, within minutes of the beach and Bald Point State Park. Beautiful area!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to Alligator Point and the area is as beautiful as we remembered. My sister and I had a great stay! The house is very comfortable and roomy and is perfectly situated for enjoying the beautiful sunsets over the water. It is within minutes of the beach and Bald Point State Park where we saw a bobcat one morning. We enjoyed the white squirrels hanging out iby the house. We had fun-filled days exploring the area and all it offers. Gary was a most patient and gracious host .... Thank you so much!
