About Ellen Hill
I am honored to have a home that allows me to share the beauty of Vermont. I lived in Vermont since 1974 take great pride in our cultural heritage and environment. If you are a lover of nature and culture--or desire a quiet, private get-away, this place will offer you many options. As an advid biker, skier, kayaker and all-around general outdoor enthusiast, I'd be honored to share the magic of the region.

Why Ellen Hill chose Jeffersonville
The Pondhouse has been called magical and enchanted. I've travelled and lived overseas and have served in the Peace Corps. To own a home (that actually has two homes) and allows me to host people from all over the world is a unique privilege. Now that I have offered The Pondhouse to others and I read the reviews and the notes that are left behind, I know that others cherish their time here and create special memories. I have been meeting the nicest people who love the magic of Vermont!
What makes this Studio unique
The Pondhouse has been described many ways: "The "home" as well as the outside surroundings with the gardens and the mountains in the background are spectacular, peaceful and pristine." "Perfect weekend getaway to escape the city and find true peace and quiet. The house was tucked away and all you could hear were birds and frogs." "The Pondhouse felt like a home away from home." "If you are looking for a convenient, well- appointed, lovely spot to get away from it all, this is your place. The photos can't possibly do it justice." "It is a perfect place for a couples getaway, great space for cooking and enjoying a meal and each other." "It's peaceful with beautiful surroundings, yet conveniently located just down the road from the bustle at Smuggler's Notch." Come discover the magic for yourself!

Beautiful peaceful place near Stowe attractions
Delightful place to relax yet convenient to area attractions. The Pondhouse is well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable staff. Ellen is the best host ever and goes the extra mile to take of her guests. You must visit the Pondhouse!
My husband and son were traveling to Stowe for a lacrosse tournament. This quiet little place about 20 minutes from the mountain was just what they needed after their long day in the sun. The house had everything they needed, their host was lovely and helpful and my husband has it as a favorite for he and I to visit again!
Quiet & Beautiful Retreat!
I loved the Pondhouse and Ellen! The Pondhouse is a perfect retreat for:
*individual or couple looking for a quiet and beautiful getaway for enjoying the mountains
*individual looking for a quiet and great space to focus on a project, writing, or work
The space is well designed with lots of windows and light. The peacefulness of the area combined with Ellen's hospitality - i really can't say more, except Book it!
Perfect, peaceful setting
The Pondhouse was perfect for a four-day getaway. The property is even more amazing in person; so idyllic and serene! It is also incredibly close to Stowe and Smugglers Notch which is great for hiking, skiing, adventuring, etc. Ellen is an excellent host who goes out of her way to make sure her guests enjoy the property and Vermont. I highly recommend staying here!
A wonderful place to stay in an even more wonderful location.
Green Mountain Calm
The property was fantastic and just as written. We had a great father/son weekend and could not have had a more idyllic scene at the Pond House. You’ll find both a restful and rejuvenating retreat here that is made sweeter by a kind and gracious host who was a pleasure to converse with. Easy drive to get groceries, tasty VT brews, and a central launching pad for Stowe, Waterbury, and beyond. Would do it all over again and very well may in the future!
The Pond House is located in a region that offers:
* skiing- Smuggler's Notch Ski Area is 3 miles away; Jay Peak ~45minutes and Stowe is an hour away
* hiking - Mount Mansfield/ Smugglers Notch is 3 miles away as well as rivers with waterfalls and gorges
* biking - excellent road biking and mountain biking are right out the door, plus the Stowe bike path and the Missisquoi bike rail trail (27 miles of trail from St. Albans to Richford, VT) are close by
