|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Surrounded by stately trees, this nestled Mediterranean has windows looking out into flora (palms, sycamore and anaqua), more like Florida than Texas.
Located about 5 blocks from the north reach of San Antonio
'river walk', you may take a river barge to the downtown venues this city is famous for.
If you and your family are aesthetes you will want to know that this part of town is in the museum district. Very short bus rides to north of south will take you--or around the corner, to the children's museum, soon be completed.
If a golfer, you need to know you can shoulder your bag and walk two blocks to the most famous and well maintained course in San Antonio --- perhaps while others are looking at art.
I booked the apartment for my in laws who were visiting. The apartment exceeded our expectations in terms of location and comfort. It was a very pleasant stay and the apartment was filled with very interesting decor. I highly recommend, especially if you are planning on spending any time relaxing - you'll love it.
My family of 4 (5) stayed at this rental for one week for spring break. I say 4 (5) because most of the time there were four of us, but my son stationed at Laughlin AFB stayed with us a few of the nights. The rental is very spacious with a breakfast eating area, large living room, large dining room, full kitchen, two large bedrooms, a bathroom, and a screened in porch. The owner met us there at 3pm on our first day and showed us around. He is very helpful and lives near by if you need him. The AC worked great, and the downstairs neighbor was really quiet. Off-street parking too. The location is perfect. About 15-20 minutes from the airport and there are several easy to get to grocery stores on the way (HEB, Central Market, Walmart). Additionally, lots of shopping and great restaurants within 10-15 minutes. Plus, downtown is only a 5-10 minute drive. I would definitely stay here again. Safe neighborhood, easy to drive anywhere in the area.
Lovely second floor "apartment" near to everything! Our family of 5 stayed for 4 nights and we were more than comfortable with the size of this VRBO. Although there is only 1 bathroom, it's large (as are all the rooms) and even with 3 teens, we easily made due.
This truly felt like home and we loved it. The locations perfect if you want to SEE everything near the riverwalk, zoo, parks and great shopping too. My husband especially enjoyed his morning runs near the park and golf course.
The Owner Jack, was wonderful- kind and quick to reply- happy to give suggestions and answered our calls, emails, and even texts once we arrived.
We will definately stay here again!
The apartment had all of the amenities that we could have wished for: laundry, beautiful kitchen, free wifi, weekly maid service, and a great screened-in porch. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was very private due to all the foliage on the property, even in the winter. We felt like we were living in a jungle! The apartment is more spacious than the pictures make it seem. There were also plenty of bathroom and bedroom linens so it was not necessary to bring any.
The landlord is very responsive via phone and was a delight.
It's about a fifteen minute walk from the Pearl. We didn't have a car, but we were told parking was available on-site. The neighbourhood felt very safe. If you have any children, it's a very short walk to the Do Seum (Children's museum) and a 20-minute walk to the Zoo through the park. There's a children's amusement park that's fairly close as well, but as it was only open on the weekend we missed it.
Typically speaking, we don't spend lots of time in our "room" when we vacation, but being a larger family, we do need space to spread out. After multiple unsuccessful trips to suites at hotels, we decided to try VRBO and go for a house. This home was exactly what we needed! Our days were jam packed with visiting the missions, the caverns, the outlet malls, etc., so it was so nice to be able to come "home" and relax without feeling like we were on top of each other. We bought a few groceries, but could have had an entire Thanksgiving spread if we wanted to. The kitchen had every appliance we could have possibly needed. A cold spell came through, which made for perfect fireplace weather even! I truly can't think of one negative thing to say. We loved it, and although it's highly unlikely we'll head back to San Antonio, we do know where we'll stay if we do!
We were in town for our family reunion and decided to spend the whole week in San Antonio seeing the sights and visiting with family that was in San Antonio. We could not have asked for a better location. It took less than 5 minutes to get down to the Riverwalk and even a shorter trip to the zoo, the new children's museum the "Dosuem", and an art museum. Some of our relatives were staying close to SeaWorld and it took about 20 minutes to be with them and that was driving during evening rush hour. The apartment was very nice. We ate all of our breakfasts there and we cooked dinner several nights. Just about anything you could need to cook with was in the kitchen. The queen size bed was very comfortable and there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom. The A/C worked great. We also enjoyed looking at all of the knick knacks and treasures that had been collected from world travels that were used to decorate the apartment. One night we cooked dinner and had a movie night in. There was a collection of probably over 100 dvds to chose from (not many kid friendly movies but wasn't a problem for us). There is a long term renter in the downstairs apartment but we never saw them and only heard them close their door occasionally. If you chose to eat out there are plenty of restaurants in the area. There is a Dollar General store a block away in case you forgot anything and they have a small selection of food or if you want to go grocery shopping, there is a Central Market a few blocks away. We normally stay in a hotel when we travel to San Antonio, but after staying here, we will check to see if this apartment is available any time we return to San Antonio.
The owner also lives down the street so he was able to respond quickly to any concerns that we had. His daughter also lives nearby and was able to help if needed.
