Location, location, location! Enjoy this newly restored 1928 cottage. This cottage was designed with an eclectic touch of old and new. Situated on the banks of Long Pond, wake up to the sights and sounds of the lake Enjoy a gentle morning breeze lakeside with your first cup of coffee in your own shady private backyard. Close to all area conveniences, yet private enough to have a quiet getaway. Need a break from water play? How about GEVA Theater for a different kind of play? Or Strong Museum of Play!
We are a year round cottage, and are now taking reservations for all four seasons. After enjoying a great day of golf, bicycling, beach, museums or galleries -come back to your own private oasis on the lake.
Gorgeous home with dock and calm waters for fishing and playing in the water. Great fire-pit and awesome chairs. Detailed home with many touches - things I wouldn't have thought to ask about. Like very high quality grill tools, great first aid kit - my son scraped his knee and there was an antiseptic&analgesic spray that worked wonders, Extra blankets for cool nights, some fun water tubes and even life jackets (we brought our own, but how thoughtful to have extra!). Long pond connects right to Lake Ontario, so brave adventurers can head out to that end of the pond. There were no paddles for the provided canoe (the canoe was another extra we did not expect), but we brought our own raft and that worked perfectly.
I will say that although it could sleep 6, it really is a 2 bedroom. We were thinking of having a relative stay for one or two nights but the fold out couch was not very comfortable so we collectively decided against it. The extra bed is a pull-out couch right on the screened and insulated back porch which is great to listen to the water. However, the windows from one of the main bedrooms open up into the porch right over the pull-out bed, which isn't great if one person snores.
Susan was very welcoming and not only did I recommend her to my family and friends, I will keep her properties at the top of my list next time I look to rent.
The Pond Cottage is a charming, pristine rental! Susan thought of every detail in the decor and providing necessary items. Even though we live only about 30 minutes away, it felt as though we were thousands of miles away from home. The bedding and linens are beautiful and the porch overlooking the pond is so comfortable and relaxing. We can't wait to stay there again and enjoy this serene and private setting!
Both summer and winter is fabulous in this 1928 cottage. Known to be a 'Rum Runners' cottage in the prohibition - it has a bit of local color! Sitting close to the lake, you will enjoy all the summer water activities as well as fishing. During the winter - ice fishing! We are a easy 20 minute drive from Downtown Rochester where you can enjoy live theater, fine dining, music and Festivals year round. Take in a ball game, soccer or hockey.
Golf is huge in Rochester - with 50 courses all within easy reach.
Daytrippen! Go for a day of antiquing, tour the Finger Lakes and the wineries, Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake for a day of shopping. Toronto is a 4 hour drive.
