This is our 3rd time staying at this property. It is a bit pricey, but it is the perfect location for our family when we visit BYUH. The property is clean and comfortable. Holly, who manages the property is kind and helpful. We will be staying there again!!
We had a great time at this property, it was right on the beach, the yard was clean and a perfect size for a two year old to play in. The beach was great for boogie boarding, we saw lots of turtles directly in front of the house. I would highly recommend this house for those with a family to stay in. Holly contacted us a few days before departure and was more than willing to help and answer any questions we had...she had the house open and directions on the fridge that help us with any questions we had with the house. They also had snorkeling gear and boogie boards for us to use while staying in the house. I would definitely recommend this house to my family members that will be visiting Hawaii in the next year. Laie is one hour away from Honolulu, and away from the business of a major city, but has everything you will need. Supermarkets and other stores a close as well at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
Holly was very helpful with any questions that we had. She made us feel right at home. From the moment we arrived, we felt drawn to the beautiful backyard and the gorgeous beach. From hammock to chairs to outdoor shower, they've thought if everything. We actually had our own private beach. We swam and snorkeled all day and only saw a few local fishermen. There were plenty of beach toys as well. The walk-in rainfall shower in the master bath is so refreshing after an adventurous day in paradise. There's lots of soft green grass surrounding the house to take a barefoot evening stroll, as well as the prestine beach. With famous surf spots, beaches, sea turtles, activities, shops and more to explore nearby, it's the perfect location. We would definitely stay here again. Awesome!
......but only if you want the best views ever, a clean house, spacious kitchen, washer and dryer, have I mentioned the views???? Kevin is very nice to work with, no question goes unanswered! I loved this house! No A/C, but there are great fans in all the rooms!!!! Yes! You want to stay here! But please not when I want to stay here again! :)
My 2 girlfriends and I came to North Shore for a milestone birthday celebration and we cannot be more happier about the choice we made for our lodging accommodations. As soon as we walked up to the front door & saw the ocean through the back door, we were completely overwhelmed with the beauty and couldn't believe the place was ours for a week! The kitchen had not only plenty of counter and cabinet space, but plenty of items to use (pots, pans, skillet, cutting boards, etc). There is also a cabinet full of different types of spices and other condiments and the refrigerator had plenty of other condiments. We knew that there would be a washer and dryer, but we were quite pleased to find that there was also detergent, fabric softener, and fabric sheets. We enjoyed just being about to sit out in the backyard, whether it was under the pergola or on a lounge chair out on the lawn, to have drinks or eat meals and listen to the roar of the ocean in peace. We immediately felt at home. The beach and ocean are just a few steps down off of a sand bank and you can use the provided small ladder to get back up or hang on to the fence to hoist yourself up. When the water is low, the water directly behind the backyard is rocky, but you can walk a very short distance in either direction to avoid rocky areas. You will have to do the same if you wish to get an unobstructed view of the sunrise and/or sunset. Plan your sightseeing in advance. It is approximately 1 hr. & 15-20 minutes to drive from Honolulu/Waikiki to Laie on Hwy 63 (Likelike Hwy), even though it's only 32 miles. People are very conscientious and respectful on the roads and do not disobey the traffic laws or exceed the speed limits, which was a refreshing change. The home is a very short walking distance to the grocery store & fast food places such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Subway, but we would highly recommend buying food and preparing it at the house. When you turn right out of the driveway, you will be heading towards popular destinations such as Turtle Bay, Haleiwa (home of Matsomuto's Shave Ice), Waimea Falls, Dole Plantation, and more. We are so grateful for Holly for having everything organized, clean, and inviting. Mahalo for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home! I will recommend it to everyone I know and I'm sure my girlfriends will as well.
Our party of four adults and a toddler had an awesome stay at this home. We enjoyed the freedom of having a well kept, fully stocked home - with the security of knowing someone was just a phone call away if we had any questions.
Not only is the view/description accurate, it's much better in person. The yard is well manicured, and the ocean view is gorgeous. We swam with sea turtles right outside of the home. If you walk a few feet to the left on the beach, this area is great for snorkeling. We got a lot of use out of the snorkeling gear that was provided. If you really enjoy snorkeling, or have small children, you can also make a trip to Sharks Cove. It's a short drive north.
Although it rained a little bit, we saw a beautiful rainbow from the ocean...and the storm breeze was a fabulous break in humidity. We also got a lot of use out of the fans in each room on the very warm days.
I ran on the bike trail across the street from the house alone, and felt very safe. The area has plenty of stores for food and supplies. There is a quaint cafe within walking distance, and most restaurants are within a 15 minute drive. Food trucks are even closer, if you prefer that option.
Holly was efficient, and clearly works hard to prepare the home for guests. Kevin and Laura were super sweet offering to mail back an article of children's clothing left behind. All of the transactions were seamless as well. This home is highly recommended. We didn't want to leave!
The Polynesian Cultural Center is here in Laie.
