Shenandoah Valley House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, cabin / house that sits adjacent to national forest

Please Read The Entire Description: (someone who just booked this cabin broke the kitchen table and we've not been able to replace it yet. It should be replaced by March 17th or 18th). There are a few other items that they broke too which are on order... you're welcome to book it during these dates, we just wanted you to be aware of this...

Boulder Ridge Cabin is a beautiful cabin in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Located in historic Rawley Springs, Boulder Ridge Cabin offers access to hiking, biking, fishing and walking trails all within minutes walk of the front door. There are only 4 steps leading up to the cabin to get onto the porch so it is easily accessible. We do allow for one night stays, but there is two night minimum for weekend stays (either Friday and Saturday night or Saturday & Sunday nights).

If you share beds and ten if you sleep on the couch. The maximum occupancy is not the amount of people the cabin sleeps it's the amount we will allow in the cabin.

Pets are welcome but we do require a Pet Fee per pet because we clean much more thoroughly when pets stay at the cabin. Boulder Ridge Cabin is a great place to see the stars. On clear nights, you can see thousands of stars overhead. It is a beautiful sight. Also during the spring and summer months, you can see humming birds everywhere. We place feeders off the front porch of the house and have personally seen upwards of 20 birds feeding on them at one time.

Check in time is 4:00 pm until 10 pm and checkout is 11 am. A late fee of $20 an hour for check ins after 10 pm.

No smoking in the cabin. No beer pong or Hookahs. Noise must kept to a minimum and quiet hours are 9 pm to 9 am.

Guests are required to sign a rental agreement upon arrival and a photo ID. For this reason, the person who makes the reservation has to be the there at the time of check-in, unless the contract is signed and arrangements are made for someone else to check-in in advance.

The house can fit 12 people. However, at least 4 would need to be children.

Pets are welcome at all of our properties. If you or someone in your group is allergic to pets or anything else (detergent, air fresheners, etc), please let us know in advance so we can discuss this prior to your booking and then also prior to your arrival. There are things you should expect to find, such as spider webs (we clean them for every guest but they do reappear quickly), ladybugs, insects, tiny critters & stink bug(s) during certain times of the year. Sheets, toilet paper and towels are provided. Paper towels are not.

All pet fee(s), early check-in or late check-out, firewood or extra person fees are not refundable once paid.

Failure to show up/check in or contact owner before midnight of day of arrival will result in cancellation. Host reserves the right to rebook property if guest does NOT contact owner.

About Katie and Steven Robert Jones

We came to Virginia from Texas so I (Steven) could finish my college degree, but got into the vacation rental business by accident. :) We have 4 daughters under the age of 5. We have 6 rescue dogs, 2 rescue cats, 2 ponies, 8 goats & about 50 chickens.

We believe service is what sets us apart in the vacation rental industry. Katie & I personally own every cabin that we manage. We check-in all of our guests personally (sometimes even as late as 2 or 3 in the morning with prior approval). When you arrive, the lights will be on and you will be welcomed and shown around the cabin, unlike most other rentals where you access a lock box and walk into a dark cold house. This is all we do 24/7 and we want all of our guests to have an amazing stay. We would be honored if you would allow us the opportunity to serve you.

What makes this house unique

If you are looking to get away from the fast pace of life, then this is the perfect to relax. The cabin sits just above where the Dry River and Gum Run meet so both rivers are within walking distance from the cabin. Also, there are 3 hiking trails within walking distance of the cabin and numerous others within a very short drive of the cabin.

Large Cabin - Nice and Private

  • 5 of 5

Stayed this past weekend at Boulder Ridge Cabin and had a really nice stay. The cabin is larger than it looks like in the photos. The master bedroom and master bath were perfect. The private screen porch off the master bedroom was ideal for breakfast with my husband. The wrap around deck and the grill were his favorite spots. Comfy king size bed. Nice modern and well stocked kitchen. Loved the privacy this place offered. Highly recommended.

Roomy and well-priced

  • 3 of 5

We were 2 families, vacationing together. 4 adults and 3 children.

There was plenty of space indoors to spread out if needed and definitely enough sleeping space. We loved the couches and beds, tv and internet the most. The big kitchen, deck, and grill were great too. Lots of bathrooms. And if you're looking to REALLY be in the woods, this is it. The kids loved "hiking" around the area.

The supplies were seriously lacking. Purchased paper towel, dust pan, all-purpose cleaner, ant killer, additional cups, aluminum foil. Saw central vac receptical, but no hose. While there were several cooking utensils, they were pretty ick and need trashed/updated. The washing machine acted strange and the dryer indicated the lint screen needed to be checked, but there was no lint - would take nearly 5 runs before items were dry. Although the AC indicated it was on and set at 67, the average midday temp of the house was 81 and there was not air flow from registers. One day reached 85 in the upstairs area - we just left and ate out because we were all too faint and couldn't even imagine adding more heat in the house. Needed a really good cleaning.

Very nice property. Not very well stocked.

  • 3 of 5

The house was a really nice house. It has awesome comfortable couches and beds. It was lacking a few things. There are no dressers and not a lot of towels. We had to go out and purchase dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, trash bags and dish soap. A lot of the dishes were dirty, probably because there was no dishwasher detergent. Overall it was a little bit of a disappointment but not horrible.

Gorgeous House and Views. Amazing Walk-in Shower.

  • 5 of 5

Nice and private location. Loved the walk-in shower and the fancy showerheads. King size bed was great and loved the private screen porch right of the master bedroom. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. And the deck was much bigger than it looked in the photos. The views of the mountains was beautiful. The house was nice and clean and owners were very responsive and helpful and you can tell that they really care. We'd love to stay again. In fact we'd love to move in!

Homey and convenient

  • 4 of 5

The house is set in a beautiful, wooded location on top of a mountain with beautiful views and nice walks nearby. While tucked away in the woods, its also very convenient to Harrisonburg - just a 15 minute drive away. The layout of the house is very spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, grill, and deck areas. Kitchen was adequately stocked with cooking necessities. Recommended.

Amazing Views. Clean, Large House Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this large cabin. The weather was perfect. The cabin was nice and clean. I wish we could have moved in. We felt like we were all alone on our own mounside villa. The beds were much more comfortable than most other rentals we've stayed at. And the furniture wasn't the cheap stuff you find in most other rentals. Everything was top notch and the kind of pieces you'd want in your own home. Loved the screen porch right off the master bedroom and the large walk-in shower. Definitely coming back!!!
