About Linda Curry
My husband Hugh knew about this property before I ever did. He used to speak of it often. It was the summer home of his soccer captain and roommate from College at UPenn. With Andy being an only child, and off to medical school in Brussels the house sat vacant for several years. It became know as the haunted party house and fell into disrepair by local kids who found it to be an interesting hangout. So in 1983 after a bad weekend when kids had broken several windows etc., Andy's Mom decided to sell. Needless to say, I was immediatly dispatched to finally see the house I had heard so much about. For me it was LOVE at first sight.Hugh needed no convincing.
Linda Curry purchased this House in 1983
Why Linda Curry chose Cairo
I don't think we need to say why. The Falls, the sounds of nature, the trees, even the ROCKS.That's an inside joke, my husband is something of a rock hound.

Even better than it looks!
The house is beautiful and has a ton of personality, and the property is even bigger than it looks in the pictures. It's hard to emphasize how beautiful the view really is once you're there. It's amazing how private the wooded property feels while at the same time being barely 5-10 minutes from a shopping center where you can easily go out and grab anything you need. The water from the falls was definitely cold but still made for a fun swimming spot, and the rocky terrain of the stream was an even better place to lounge and hang out.
The owners were great about checking in with us and were easy to reach with questions, and we really appreciated all the notes and materials around the house that walk you through house rules, using the hot tub, how to get down to the falls, etc. The path down to the falls and stream on the property is pretty steep (though railings and steps are built into the hill along certain parts, making it easier) and they thoughtfully made note of alternate ways to access it for times when it's slippery from rain. The only thing we had the slightest trouble with was the grill on the deck, which has clearly seen a lot of action through the years and was somewhat difficult to cook on due to grease from previous use, but the kitchen is well stocked and we easily pivoted to cooking our burgers on the stove. The kitchen was definitely a favorite spot in the house during our stay, second only to the hot tub. The house also stayed plenty cool even during the hotter days of our stay thanks to the abundance of air conditioners.
Overall, this is an incredible spot!
Wonderful stay, glorious views
Our group enjoyed a weekend stay at this beautiful place. Cannot get a better location, everything was great. Very comfortable funky house and very friendly owners. Linda was a pleasure to work with. Any questions were very quickly responded to. you can tell they really treasure this home as they should. We're glad that they shared it with us.
We spent a week with family and friends at the Tumbling Falls House and loved our time there.
The house is a comfortable place for socializing, cooking, and resting. There's many great outdoor hang-out spaces including: porches, decks, and a lower lawn. And best of all was the access to the wonderful waterfall and stream running alongside the property.
Linda communicated well with us prior to and during our stay, and there was plenty of clean towels and linens available. Thanks Linda!
The only down-side to the place is that there's a lot of tchotchkes around the house. So if you're someone who likes simple, clean spaces, this can be a little overwhelming.
Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay at the house and hope to be back again in the future.
Great house for a group, and fantastic waterfall
Great house for a multi-family group! We especially enjoyed the location next to the waterfall and swimming hole.
Perfect weekend getaway
This property is just wonderful. The house is so quaint. It's so warm and homey. All the rooms are big. The view of the waterfall is amazing to wake up to. Linda is super accommodating and makes sure everything is going well. I definitely would like to return.
