About Judsen Gundersen

My name is Judd Gundersen and I own this cabin with my wife Christine, however for the time being my brother Timothy Gundersen will be handling the affairs of the cabin in order to provide the best service possible! Christine originally purchased this cabin while we were first dating in 2007. Today, we are married and have a 4 year old son.

After purchasing the cabin our first order of business was to make the yard dog friendly. Our three dogs now enjoy the fenced backyard as well as the many dog friendly activities that the area has to offer.

We try to spend as much time as possible in Big Bear. We usually find ourselves spending more time during the summer at the cabin to escape the heat of Las Vegas, our current home.

While at the cabin we enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, riding motorcycles and ATVs and dining at the many great restaurants in the area.

Judsen Gundersen purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Judsen Gundersen chose Big Bear Lake

Living in Las Vegas made Christine miss the green landscape of the east coast. She decided to look for property in Big Bear because it has something to offer during all four seasons.

What makes this cabin unique

We looked at many cabins in Big Bear but were absolutely sold on this one. We loved the sunken fireplace, the recessed lot, the close proximity to Snow Summit and the available trailer parking during the summer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Patrick & Brett (the girl (:), Warren (Bulldog), Charlie (mutt) would like to thank you for having us stay at your little BB cottage. Pat did the triathlon on Friday and I was able to walk the dogs down to watch him come in! We took the dogs to the lake to swim (Warren absolutely loves the H20, with his life vest on of course! HA. We BBQ'D and read our books on the couch one day (love the couch, so comfy!) We ate dinner at Haciendas which we were also able to walk to, loved it! The best overall part for me was when I was sitting on the patio w/ the dogs (Pat @ grocery store) and we saw a HUGE beautiful wolf/coyote right up by the railing which the dogs scared off, a bittersweet moment for me. It was grey & white with the most beautiful unsettling eyes. The guy at the liquor store down the way said they have been known to take dogs off the leashes! Yikes! Thanks again for a wonderful getaway, we will be back! Love, Brett & Patrick

P.S. We had to move the big bear mat from the couch because Charlie has a toy version just like it but mini and I didn't want y'all to come home to the bear w a missing nose!

Great little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Tim's cabin from 4/28-4/30. Check-in was very smooth and easy. The cabin is in a great location and was easy to find. This place is very cute and cozy and had ample towels for our stay. Had a little difficulty with working the TV but a quick call to Tim and he had someone right over to help. Our fur baby enjoyed the fenced in back yard as well! We had a great time and look forward to returning! Thank you Tim for the hospitality!

Cozy Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had not been to Big Bear in years. My husband remarked that it hadn"t changed that much.

Sometimes it's nice to have things stay the same. We had beautiful weather. Although, if you are a skier - this place is so well located to the Summit Slopes - you literally can walk there. We did - in the sunshine. Fresh mountain air, the smell of the pines - fantastic. We enjoyed the jacuzzi both days. Fire in the fireplace at night (bring or buy your own wood), so silent at night. Not even a bird chirpping. If you are up for a little R&R - this is the place. Plus so affordable.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

My 4 girlfriends, 2 dogs and I had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin! It was clean and we loved how many blankets and throws were inside the coffee table in the living room. Unfortunately the weekend we went, big bear was hit with a big snow storm so we were unable to take full advantage of the outside balcony, however we were perfectly happy staying inside. The view from the upstairs bedroom is beautiful! Considering how dog-friendly they are, I was impressed by how clean the cabin is kept, cleaner than some cabins that don't even allow dogs!

Timothy was easily reachable, promptly responding whenever i had any questions during my stay. Also, we lost one day at the cabin due to all the roads in big bear being blocked off because of the storm. While I hadn't expected any kind of compensation, Tim actually reached out and offered to let us stay one extra night! Such hospitality is rare these days! We definitely look forward to staying at this cabin again:)

Fabulous Family Cabin, Amazing Location for Trip to Big Bear

  • 5 of 5

Wow, this is a great little cabin with an amazing location. We are a family of four with two young kids so this was perfect. It has a bedroom and a loft with a bunk bed, nice full size bath and a unique fireplace setup that was great for cooking smore's after dinner. The cabin is well kept, the linens were fresh and clean and the hot tub was setup and ready when we arrived. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac that was a short walk to Snow Summit lifts. Tim was responsive and helpful. Really could not ask for anything more, highly recommended!

Big Bear Lake is truly a 4 season resort town. Our cabin places you at the center of the excitement!

We are located in a quiet cul-de-sac that adds to the mountain escape experience without taking you far from the entertainment.

Snow Summit is a 3-5 minute walk from our front door allowing you to avoid the resort parking. There is a shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes from Snow Summit to Bear Mountain.

Big Bear Lake provides fishing and boating fun all summer long. The nearest launch ramp is a short 5 minute drive. Our cabin is perfect for those bringing their own boat because of trailer parking available on our property.
