Unique lakefront property right at the waters edge with magnificant views in every direction. Lots of room for couples or for families. Kids love the sleeping loft! On the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Close to many colleges. 20 minutes from Geneva or Watkins Glen.
On a dead end street, private, great for families or couples. Close to the wine trail, Hobart College, Keuka College, Finger Lakes College, race track, quaint towns, antique shops, outlet mall, restaurants. You won't want to leave!
We had such a fun time - plenty of room and comfort in the house, gorgeous porch to watch the sunrise and drink coffee, shoreline to wade in, and kayaks to roam around in. A beautiful, well managed piece of property. I highly recommend it!
2 couples shared this lake cottage for 3 nights and just loved it. As others have said, whoever sleeps downstairs has to go up the outside stairs to use the bathroom, but that didn't bother us. Bring drinking water as the well water smells of sulfur (but is drinkable). The kitchen was really well stocked with great pans and utensils as well as pantry staples.
Great views of the lake and 2 kayaks to paddle around in.
The transport system for luggage, etc., was ingenious and we were thankful to not have to haul all our luggage and groceries down the stairs! We liked that the cottage was right on the lake and that we didn't have to go very far to be at the water.
We had good time at this cottage with my family. The location is perfect to visit in and around the finger lakes area.
The rental agent greeted us when we arrived at the cottage and showed us around. To get to cottage you have to take steps down from the road. There is a system to transport your luggage/stuff to the cottage from the top.
The cottage was clean and well maintained. The cottage is well stocked with towels, sheets, bed sheets. Kitchen itself had lot of cooking stuff. Definitely did not expect that.
The Sun room is excellent place to hang out. Lots of light/Sunrise and good view of lake from each side. The main bedroom has attached bathroom which is little bit of issue if you have 2 couples since there is only one bathroom access from main bedroom. The second bedroom needs to be accessed from outside the cottage so some may not prefer it and to access bathroom they need to come to main bedroom. The Sun room also has sleep in sofas. There is little deck on top of main bedroom where kids can sleep.
The boat dock had sustained damage due to winter weather and was broken when we arrived. It's good place to put chairs and enjoy the view of the lake and owner of the property did mention that it was going to be fixed soon.
Things which would make this property even more ideal would be another bathroom, dishwasher and an onsite laundry machine.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property.
This rental is definitely worth renting! My girlfriend and I rented the place for her birthday and had an absolutely great time. It's a very clean and cozy lake house with a beautiful dock to enjoy the wonderful views of Seneca Lake.
The top floor has an enclosed porch with HUGE windows to get a full panoramic view of the lake. We actually ended up sleeping on the pull out couch both nights in the enclosed porch because of the views. You experience one of the best sunrises with those tall and wide windows, highly recommend it!
I stayed at this cottage for the weekend with a group of friends and had an awesome time.
The property manager met us right when we arrived and gave us a good tour of the property. The cottage was very clean and well-maintained, and came stocked with just about everything you'd need for a trip (lots of towels, plates, and utensils, firewood, coffee, welcome packet with info about nearby attractions, a fan in every room, etc).
From the road, you have to walk down a large flight of stairs to get to the cottage, but the transportation system makes it easy to carry luggage up/down and it gives a nice sense of privacy. Great views of the lake from the enclosed porch and deck, and easy access to the water from the dock.
The second bedroom is on the lower level and is only accessible from outside the cottage (the door is near the picnic table in the picture). Some people may not like this because you have to go outside to get to the rest of the cottage or the bathroom, but its also very relaxing to sleep so close to the water.
Overall, I'd highly recommend staying here!
On Seneca Lake Wine Trail, 15 miles from Geneva or Watkins Glen. 5 miles from the Outlet biking/hiking trail in Dresden.
