This beautiful, newly finished garden apt vacation home awaits you on the shores of Lake Huron within the village of Port Sanilac! This unit of approximately 1700 ft2 complete with 2 large bedrooms each with king size beds, a pull-out queen size sofa and a single bed (all bed linens), private bath/shower (with bath towels), fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, all utensils, dishes, flatware, etc.), a small pantry, washer and dryer. The large furnished living space is complete with 40” wall mounted TV, wi-fi, wall mounted electric fireplace, pool table, dining table and chairs, a moveable bar The site will comfortably accommodate up to 7 people. This unit is located in the private home of the owners (property managers) so that any questions or problems that arise can immediately be addressed by them. The unit has a private entrance with room for the parking of 2 cars on the property. An outstanding feature of this rental is the fact that guests have complete access to all outside amenities including the following: (1) private beach. Beach amenities include 3 kayaks (2 singles and 1 tandem), a 6 person inflatable raft, fire pit, and beach chairs, (2) a large deck (20’x 20’) overlooking the lake complete with covered gazebo with a gas heater and tables and chairs for outside dining, a 2 person swing, and a 6 person hot tub, (3) a patio with 4 person bar to enjoy your lunch and/or a late afternoon cocktail as well as a large stone fireplace (charcoal grill) together with a gas stove top cooking unit, and a small refrigerator. These amenities are for the exclusive use of our guests. You will enjoy the privacy afforded this rental property!
I would say I would have to agree on all points from the previous reviews. All the amenities you would need and very nice and accommodating hosts (Sarah & Craig). A few things people might have an issue with which I didn't read the descriptions and reviews too closely: It is in basement of the owners home which to me I didn't have a problem with but I know some people would getting there and discovering that. Also parking is kind of a hassle if you have more than two vehicles. The one neighbor thinks he is the neighborhood parking watch and will call the police if you park the wrong way. I would suggest maybe parking at the marina 5 min away. Otherwise besides that it was a very nice clean place. Hosts are great and it was a great find for the weekend stay for a wedding I had to attend with my friends.
We enjoyed a girls-weekend in the beautiful lakefront cottage. The deck, including outdoor-kitchen, bbq-grill and hot-tub, is beautiful and in tip-top shape. The indoor- and outdoor-kitchen are fully equipped. The bedrooms in the nicely remodeled basement of the owner’s home were very clean and comfortable for six of us. We loved the lake view and the easy access to Lake Huron. Even kayaks and a raft for fun activities were available.
We participated in a paddle-relay event. A special thanks here to Craig who made arrangements with his friend Pat to transport us back and forth with the kayaks and paddle boards to the different harbors between Lexington and Port Sanilac. Thanks a lot! We really appreciate the great support.
Sarah and Craig are excellent people and really friendly. They let us have our privacy and the whole garden and deck for ourselves.
We definitely would recommend this rental and we look forward to visit again in the future.
We were delighted to be the first guests at this property. Located in the nicely remodeled basement of the owners' home, it was perfect for my husband and myself, although spacious enough for six. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, without being intrusive. We had full use of all the amenities, from the lovely deck on Lake Huron's shore to the hot tub and outdoor kitchen, just to name a few. The home is within walking distance of the harbor and downtown businesses and restaurants. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to booking there again next year.
Port Sanilac has many events scheduled each summer, including an annual festival weekend, a blues festival weekend, weekly music in the park(saturday), barn theater every summer weekend, weekly farmers market (friday), annual boat show, antique cars, and numerous weekly events at the Sanilac County Historical Museum (arts and crafts exhibitors, civil war days, catered dinners, etc.). The visitor center has numerous welcome guides, calendar of events, and other helpful info for visitors.

The apartment is located in the private home of the owner and is located directly on the lake front. The neighborhood is a quiet residential one and it is expected that guests will treat their stay as if they were in their own home. Although smoking is forbidden in the apartment, smoking is permitted on the patio, deck, and beach. The guests are fully responsible for their own safety.
A contract will be emailed to the renter, it must be signed and returned to owner with first nights rental and the security deposit. The names and ages of all those that will be occupying the apartment are required. A credit card may be used to verify the renter. Payments may be in the form of cash or personal check.
